Wow, this was a horrible game. Worst of the Ferentz era? Hmmm. Definitely most mysterious. It was twice as bad as NW in '06 though (score wise). And who can forget the sting of WMU in 07? I think I put this game between those two.

the delay and being on the road out west to go with that just killed us... we were so flat... and Arizona State had revenge on their mind coming out with all the emotion... not a good combo... to say the least...
I would definitely say this game and the 23-3 loss at Iowa State in 2005 were the ones that most defied logic...especially when our offense had been so utterly explosive going into that game against the Cyclones. But as for the "worst" game, I'd have to go with the losses to Western Michigan at Kinnick in 1999 and 2007. Thank God we left the UNI game a winner...
@lakeshow499 We also had a ton of injuries (eventually 5 RB would be injured,) a rookie offensive line, and a deer in the headlights rookie QB working an offense that was absolutely alien to him. After this game KF and O'Keefe completely changed the offense to accomodate Tate's strengths and personel deficiencies using rollouts, improv and adink&dunk pass first mentality. And yes playing a team that we crushed one year ago in their house. It was a perfect storm.
Yeah Iowa won the year before but this game was so much sweeter because Iowa was favored and Tom Arnold was there and pretty much guaranteed a Hawkeye win. What a loser!
Arizona fans linking me to this game to support their argument for not getting blown out by Iowa this upcoming weekend..LOL
