That intro is phenomenal! Did Scott create that from something else or his own composition? I don't hear that on the Miles Davis record, just the guitar which sounds like a Gibson.
That's Scott Kinsey, a protegé of Joe's, if you will. He's the guy from Tribal Tech and is often the guy who gets the call when Gary Willis and Matt Garrison needs a player. Check out his album Kinesthetics if you're into this. The closest thing to Zawinul without being Zawinul himself.
ohh look people "arn123321" must be an all time all instrument specialist...here is my massage to all who doesnt like that-just turn it off..we dont want to hear your complaint!
Regarding BITCHES BREW: Harvey Brooks played Fender Bass and played the basic vamps, while Dave Holland played amplified upright bass and engaged in counterpoint and melodic variations.
matthew garrison is a helluva bass player. Saw him with Herbie Hancock a few years back. He dominated a band that featured Herbie, Teri Lynne Carrington, and Wallace Roney.
On the sessions that went on the 1969 Bitches Brew release, Miles used both Dave Holland and Harvey Brooks on electric bass. Ron Carter also appeared on some of the sessions that did not make the original album. These unreleased tracks are available on the 4CD The Complete Bitches Brew Sessions, well worth a listen
No, it was Harvey Brooks. Look it up. I think Dave was on Live/Evil and Live at the Fillmore West. Brooks always seemed like a weird choice to me but somebody must have dug him. He was great with Electric Flag and Super Session.
Kundalini was absolutely correct. Both Dave Holland and Harvey Brooks played bass on Bitches Brew. Dave - acoustic, Harvey - electric. Harvey did not play on all the cuts but Dave did.
Michael Henderson played electric bass on Live-Evil's live cuts. A variety of bass players played on the studio cuts.
No need for me to look it up because I own the cds and have been a Miles Davis fanatic for almost 30 years.
The reason for that is this is the tune titled "John Mclaughlin" by Miles Davis, from the Bitches Brew recording. Miles had a habit of naming his tunes after people. In fact he has a tune called Willie Nelson.

if someone named Merkin funded a foundation with millions of dollars, what's in a name? We name national monuments after shoe companies.....

Who played bass on Bitches Brew? The bass is quite jacoish, but I believe this album came out before he was well known.
