  • Music of the cosmos

  • Having fun playing this kind of music in front of an appreciative audience: PRICELESS

  • Musical Aesthetic: 9

    Visual Aesthetic: 0

  • I can hear some Miles in there. Good work men!

  • Does anyone else here someone (who sounds frighteningly like Miles Davis) say what sounds like "hoots mon" at 0:46?

  • That intro is phenomenal! Did Scott create that from something else or his own composition? I don't hear that on the Miles Davis record, just the guitar which sounds like a Gibson.

  • Gracias¡

  • A wonderful rendition, I heard the original and this version is again wonderful.

  • Like i said before, great band.

  • Fuck yeah! Incredible. Wish it was longer.

  • In the fookin' pocket. What a trio..

  • clearly the funding for this hall was obtained from a highly successful business manufacturing...merkins.

is that michael moore on keyboards?

  • Super funky. That is a fantastic strong trio. But why would you call a hall Merkin? Look it up on Wikipedia.

  • @stroudbike

if someone named Merkin funded a foundation with millions of dollars, what's in a name? We name national monuments after shoe companies.....

  • @stroudbike Everyone there is wearing a merkin

  • Wow, thanks for uploading.

  • i just love dis.

  • The great Jimmy Garrison's son, Mathew! Go!

  • Ferkin Merkin Hall, Inspite of the venue, these men are imbued with the spirit of the original track!

  • Very Nice!

The guy could use a bigger amp though.

  • Spectacular!

Kinsey just knows how to command sound...

    Thanks for this.

  • is that matt garrison on bass

  • great playing >wonderfull

  • The audio quality is amazing! Didn't know YouTube could do this.

    Great vid thanks!

  • Yes, I think it is safe to say that koneheadx has no idea what is going on. Bless the beasts and the childen.

  • grass roots - raw jazz-rock fusion

ahh - the good ol days

  • wow!

  • Is that Joe zawinul on keys in tis video?

    Chick Corea

    great great music

    awesome bass solo

Miles doesnt have to play a note!

  • "Is that Joe zawinul on keys?"

That's Scott Kinsey, a protegé of Joe's, if you will. He's the guy from Tribal Tech and is often the guy who gets the call when Gary Willis and Matt Garrison needs a player. Check out his album Kinesthetics if you're into this. The closest thing to Zawinul without being Zawinul himself.

  • majtki przez głowę!!!

  • Good work, guys!

  • i love it, kool as shit!

  • ohh look people "arn123321" must be an all time all instrument specialist...here is my massage to all who doesnt like that-just turn it off..we dont want to hear your complaint!

  • No dude. This is amazing except for a pop rock fan like ya.

  • I'm going to go out on a limb and say that you don't know what the fuck you're talking about.

  • fuck..

  • Brilliant version. Matt rules!

  • Regarding BITCHES BREW: Harvey Brooks played Fender Bass and played the basic vamps, while Dave Holland played amplified upright bass and engaged in counterpoint and melodic variations.

  • matthew garrison is a helluva bass player. Saw him with Herbie Hancock a few years back. He dominated a band that featured Herbie, Teri Lynne Carrington, and Wallace Roney.

  • The drums are the best part.

  • thats drum there is....

  • you an tell hes of a keith carlok influence....

  • matt garrison is one of the best

  • Who played bass on Bitches Brew? The bass is quite jacoish, but I believe this album came out before he was well known.

  • On the sessions that went on the 1969 Bitches Brew release, Miles used both Dave Holland and Harvey Brooks on electric bass. Ron Carter also appeared on some of the sessions that did not make the original album. These unreleased tracks are available on the 4CD The Complete Bitches Brew Sessions, well worth a listen

  • Dave Holland played bass on Bitches Brew

  • No, it was Harvey Brooks. Look it up. I think Dave was on Live/Evil and Live at the Fillmore West. Brooks always seemed like a weird choice to me but somebody must have dug him. He was great with Electric Flag and Super Session.

  • Kundalini was absolutely correct. Both Dave Holland and Harvey Brooks played bass on Bitches Brew. Dave - acoustic, Harvey - electric. Harvey did not play on all the cuts but Dave did.

Michael Henderson played electric bass on Live-Evil's live cuts. A variety of bass players played on the studio cuts.

No need for me to look it up because I own the cds and have been a Miles Davis fanatic for almost 30 years.

  • Лабуда в одной гармонии, им самим скучно играть...

  • Amen to that, brother. Amen to that.

  • excellent!

really dig the drums, though everyone is really singing. nice :)

  • Does anyone know who the keyboard player in this song is?

  • I can't wait 'til this comes out on CD!

  • Umm... John Mclaughlin's guitar was THE instrument in this song... sooooo how come no guitar? Nice version anyway.

  • The reason for that is this is the tune titled "John Mclaughlin" by Miles Davis, from the Bitches Brew recording. Miles had a habit of naming his tunes after people. In fact he has a tune called Willie Nelson.

  • I believe you're thinking of "Half Nelson" by Miles.

  • No, "Willie Nelson" was a tune from the Jack Johnson sessions.

  • Miles Davis was a Crazy Motherfucker

  • i want my drummer to play exactly like that
