  • I sang this song n a solo competition back in 1995. :-)

  • This legend just won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.. Congratulations, Mr. Plummer!!! :-)

  • I love this movie, it's a classic. I saw this for the first time when I was 9, and fell in love with it now (16) I watched this every chance I get on tv

  • The most beautiful women ever, i saw her her duplicate once but.........

  • @IrishandJazz yeah I read that the real kids didn't like the real Maria as much.

  • The most beautiful women ever, the most romantic scene ever in a film. Thanks por posting this.

  • OMG I am crying so hard right now, i love this movie

  • classical movie

  • oh geez...now I want a Volkswagon... :D

  • @jlhpisces lol

  • I love the photo montage that goes along with this- beautiful song, and beautiful video :)

  • Am I the only one who had a huge crush on Christopher Plummer after seeing this movie? lol

  • Thumbs up If you came here after seeing Christopher Plummer's Skyrim Voice Acting!

  • I love this song.

  • I think everyone must have done something good for us to hear this beautiful song

  • Caetano Veloso did a beautiful rendition of this great piece.

  • One of my FAVORITE parts of the movie........I used to sing this song with them, and pretend I was there with Christopher Plummer........LOLOL! He's still a very handsome man...........

  • She was an improvement on the previous fiancée ... But in real life Maria was some character.

  • Since it was just Rodgers, no Hammerstein, they seem to have 'undersold' this one in the film itself. No need for that -- it's still one of the high points of TSOM, and was definitely included in the most recent stage version of the play in my hometown...

  • @YearOfCam No; It is Rogers and Hammerstien!

  • @dawngoth20 well, actually, if the historians are right - Hammerstein lived until 1960 and "Something Good" was commissioned for the film version only, in 1965 - and so done by Rodgers alone. It is often cited as an example of Rodgers' singular talent and lack of need for a collaborator (although I feel that 'Something Good' could have been 'Something even better' with a little help from Oscar H.)

  • 00:36 may be one of the greatest moments in all of the history of film making. When you can take a moment that everyone knows is coming and using lighting, and shadow and timing and an incredible edit to create a moment of drama that will live forever; that is art. " You can't marry someone.....(huge dramatic pause, spin and cut top close-up) ...when your in love with someone else." I wonder if they realized at that moment what they had just created?

  • Ladies, he's still HAWT!

    Damn. I would've jumped him!

  • @Junimondi Perhaps I can explan it though it's only what I think: this was a extremly hard scene to do (they did over 30 times) because they were tired (one of the last scene they did), a bit out of focus because they had to talk and sing so close to each other, and because the thing to make to moonlight made weird noises. Well, all this gave them the giggle. Julie said it was so hard to look in Chris eyes suriously with the ridiculous noise that would happen at any moment.

  • @MsBillyLou Ib always thought it must have been intentional... to make it sound like he's very touched by the moment

  • "The Sound of Music" followed me around my military service in the 1960s including a year in RVN. This song always brings tears to my eyes. By the way, Christopher Plummer just accepted me as a "Friend" on Facebook this morning! :)

  • I didn't know they kissed! OMG!!! :D

  • In the original Broadway version of 'The Sound of Music" (1959), Mary Martin and Theodore Bikel sang "An Ordinary Couple" to demonstrate their love for each other. When the movie was being planned, Richard Rodgers decided it sounded too "operatic" for Julie and Christopher {his singing voice was actually dubbed by Bill Lee} to sing, and wrote this one instead. In recent years, "Something Good" has often replaced "An Ordinary Couple" in amateur and Off-Broadway revivals of the musical.

  • @fromthesidelines

Which goes to prove that the only one better than Richard Rogers was Richard Rogers.

  • christopher plummer is ravageable!!!!!

  • 3:03

    GORILLAS!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you so much I waited for this song

  • I was very lucky. Our local store had the Sound of Music DVD on special. Fortunately DVDs are very hard to wear out. I have watched it in access of 100 times. It is a most beautiful musical.

  • @Junimondi ya...he chuckled

  • @Junimondi

Same as me :) and even when I was 8 I thought Christopher Plummer was sooo handsome in this movie!

  • @luthie89 Meeee toooo! I still do:)

  • Yeah You're right I love this movie ans love this scene !!!!!! I love Julie Andrews !!!!

  • I just love that movie and that scene... ♥ ♥ ♥ They were so confused in this scene, and then finally realize they love each other... ♥ ♥ ♥ The sound of music 4ever...

  • I love this part!!

  • I have the album (yes, the big black round thing), but the album version (used here) is nowhere near as beautiful as the film version. I actually went so far as to create an audio file of the film to include on my mp3 player. Truly one of the most beautiful songs ever and one of the most beautiful moments of the screen.

  • Wow, I've seriously listened to this about 4 times now, and I don't wanna stop yet. lol I love this song, so so much....This musical is just one of the greatest.

  • @saraignn8 I did, too. :)

  • Everytime I see and hear this song I cry.

  • Just lovely! Gives me goosebumps!

  • Christopher Plummer didn't even sing this it was another guy who sounded like him...

  • just found out the other day Christopher Plummer is actually Canadian. always thought he was english

  • I cry every time I see this scene when the movie's on TV and this song is the most beautiful love song that's under rated.

  • i fell in love with him

  • Saw the film at the cinema when I was twelve years old and fell in love with Julie Andrews. This clip reminds me why. Still makes me tingle.

  • What do you mean i must have SOMETHING good, you were BORN! you've made the WORLD A BETTER PLACE!

  • So totally romantic...sigh....

  • My favourite song of the movie,i have loved it since i saw it back in the day!

C'mon all you men out there, you know you love it ;0) ..lol

  • @leginewol The way they look at each other is love defined. My favorite scene from my favorite movie...and yes, I am all man.

My only wish is that someone post the whole scene. The best part is when he explains he can't marry someone when he's in love with another. Crushes me every time I see it! I am all about that scene...
