@TheCrf150freerider If America was left to do it they would capture the locals, steal the land and tidy them into little reservations. Then Import a few thousand Africans to do the work for them. After that after they would deny all of them equal rights, then invade as many countries as is possible and impose sanctions on them and attempt to alter their cultures into the American way of life. Anyone who stands in the way will be met by force. Diplomacy at its best!!!
Well done lads. Thats why we spend time and cash on our Land Rover pride and joy, so we can play. Im all for safety but that was a fine recovery. Any way, its far more dangerous driving on the road to the site. Good video
All the safey was taken, there was a winch blanket on the cable, but still take you point and steel cables should be used with the up most care as should aload of other dangerous off road stuff like Hi lifts and other stuff.
Did not have lockers but did have smiex off road tires. But the bottom of the water was really glopy mud that just sucked you in . Truck with simex and lockers still did not make it though after this one
The winch did the actual work in getting the thing out. As the driver, you have to cooperate with the winch. Spin your wheels like that and you'll likely dig yourself into a deeper hole. These people were lucky they didn't sink their own vehicle so much that the winch couldn't do anything for them.
In the offroading game there are so many people with there heads up there arse. People who think they know best and have been there and done it. Does my head! :p There having fun relatively safely. Fair play for trying, keep up the good work!
Sorry..... i dont have my head up my arse if that what your implying?!?!? I own a leafer myself for the past two years and im not claiming im some off road guru, it was just an observation i made. But yeah fairplay to them for trying.
To me that looks like a leafer rather than a D90, if you look carefully just behinf the rear axel as its coming out of the pool you can just see the rear spring shackles.....
pure driver error, why was it that the first thing he did when he entered the water he turned, stopped made sure he didnt have momentum and didnt create a bow wave. Poor recovery techniques, no idea why it takes so long for the process to even begin, just making your job in the end harder.should the cable have broken the dude on the back probably would have copped a shackel to the face. By the looks of things he didnt check the water depth,
also poor driving on the exit of the bank, doesnt the driver understand the difference between dynamic and static friction. Or that if he spun for the first 5 minutes, and it didnt aid the situation in any way, that to continue was just silly.
not very nice to have people write pointless comments is it

2 questions:
1. Why would you put Sunraysia rims on a Landie?
2. Why didn't you lock the diff?

@Prod1Kh from where he is? it looks like only a winch or divine intervention would have gotten him out there :)

If he had backed off the gas a little he would have been able to drive up most of the way. Inexperienced.

ralphp1800 4 years ago
One like that? A few thousand. A 98 D90 Tdi can be had for 4-5000 pounds in reasonable condition. Last time I looked at US D90s they were $30-60k!!!
