This entire intro story was copied from a 1986 LEGO comic book called The Unknown Galaxy, the only difference being that it was a malfunction that caused the power outage, not an asteroid. But the RR story is not even original - LEGO got it from a theme that came over 10 years earlier.

i remember playing this back in 2000, even though i was only 6 years old, and didnt understand most of the objectives, it was still memoriable, and 10 years after, i booted up my PC and played it again, it brings back memories, and watching the intro again, with humor, as well as a serious situation, this game is absolutely the best i recall from my childhood

heres an easy way to get rid of slimey slugs:

surround your base with tool stores and make sure the building side is facing in so that all entrance points are blocked. Since tool stores don't run on crystals, the slugs can't get at the rest of the buildings and they'll just sit there. If you have monster problem just put up electric fences. hope it helps!

It's a series Called Rock Raiders. It was around in 1999 and discontinued in 2000.

At the moment Lego are redoing the series under a different name. I saw them at work. I think it was Lego Power Miners.

if u have vista and it wont work for you, just pop the disk in and right click on it explore the disc, there should be some directX folders click on one of them (cant remember which) and theres another folder in that, have a search around til u find the D3DLL file or whatver its called :P then copy that file into C/system and you can play :)

its the one that causes the error to pop up when you open rock raiders, D3DRM.dll there are 2 D3DRM make sure you put the .dll file into your system rather than the other file, which is just system information

On vista you can right click on the .exe and make it run in compatibility mode with windows 98.

Well, it is an old game at this point, and may be trying to use files that vista no longer needs. Also try making it run as administrator. That will let it create any files it needs to on startup that vista may be blocking for what ever reason. If all else fails, get the ps1 version or try a ps1 emulator.
