I picked up two of these batteries for my Axial scx10 Honcho RTR , and I love them. They worked perfect with the supplied Axial electronics with no problems, and last forever. I did something terrible to most people though, cut off the deans and put on Losi EC3 connectors, their connections are better imo .
what is the differences in performance and run time between the C's of lipo packs? is higher better? what would be the best bang for your buck? i want to guess that 40c is the best all round pack, am i right?
Hey jang, by chance can you also review lipo chargers? I work at a hobby shop and I've seen pretty much everything, from Jerry rigged things to people spending more that they do on cars for a lipo balancer ($250, it was shiny). If you can help weed them or and see whats the most bang or your buck they would be great!
I was wondering if you could help me with charging my lipo batteries. I am unsure when the battery pack says charge at 2C. what kind of amp charge rate is that? I would appreciate your advice.
Great info on the Eco Packs, they seem to be a good solution for people who want some Li-PO performance on a budget. Like you said there are better batteries out there but they tend to cost A LOT more. That case does look pretty tough.
I like how the defence for a cheap chinese battery pack being good is that it runs well. Yes, you can buy a cheap pack and drive your truck. Performance is another thing. Low end is low end, they aren't the same battery, but if your standards are low you likely won't notice the difference. People spend 800 on a great RC truck and cheap out on batteries, it makes me laugh.
I had zippy packs cause rippling so bad I burned three ESCs.
@lawnmowerdude, I use Gens Ace Lipo Batteries and they work great. I never had a problem with them. I don't buy Maxamps. Especially when you get get 4 Gens Ace batteries for the price of one Maxamps battery.
WOULD YOU BE ABLE TO DO A SHOUT OUT FOR MY CHANNEL?I AM TRYING TO GET MORE SUBSCRIBERS,And i would realy appreciate it if you can give me a shoutout,in my videos i am doing unboxings, reviews, and upgrades to rcs like slash, rustler, tmaxx, and an sc10.thank you and please get back to me.i can give you a shout out also on my video
I was just at my lhs and the ower said said that the Gens acc and the Turnigys are not good batteries and I should go with some maxamps or other high end batteries, is he right? I hear a lot of good things online about Turnigy and Gens acc so I'm not sure what to do.
@lawnmowerdude This is not sarcasm or humor, but your LHS is simply mad that they don't sell inexpensive packs because they need higher-margin products in order to pay the rent. The *fact* is that Gens Ace, Sky Lipo, and Turnigy batteries have been proven countless times to be solid values. They are not the highest-performing batteries available, but they are objectively on par with many packs that cost literally 2x to 3x as much. Ask around, browse around, search around, find the truth!
Hey folks, just letting you know, if you have practise and tke your time its hard but possible to solder deans with a weak soldering iron, i myself do it with a 25w iron.
@GlastronVXL I have a pede 4x4 as well. I use gens ace 40 c 2s in it and when I race 8scale cars I use the dynamite 3s lipo. It is the size of a 2s, but it is a 3s lipo and it works great@
It's only $1.80 for 10x Deans female plugs and 20 cents for some heat shrink on Hobby King. A slight inconvenience but worth it in my view just to get that extra power. I'd probably resolder some XT-60s on there anyway just because they're a bit more resistant to the elements.
what kind and what size of a lipo would you recommend for a traxxas summit with a kershaw dual motor system. i am thinking about buy the gens ace 5000mah lipo
@roadkillrob1 In simple terms, for the discharge comparison, you look for the highest voltage retained for the longest duration. You will see the EcoPower curves sit about 0.2 volts less than the others. That means slightly less power. You have to ponder the trade off with the cost and other factors if that is important or not to you.
Good review but those new connectors on the Gens Ace pack, aren't they better for someone building up from scratch since they should be better at high current draw? The Gens Ace is a 200A pack so isn't a 93A connector better than a 60A one? I know a lot of people like Deans style and so do I, I just thought maybe the higher rated connector would be a good thing. Also since theyre Hobbyking connectors, genuine connectors are cheap and assured to be acceptable quality (unlike deans and its copys!)
I would love to see a test on the thunderpower pro race 65c.it walked all over my brand new Max Amps 5450 120C.so needless to say i sold the Max Amps pack.not worth the money!! and per your review i purchased the jens ace 5000 40C and i am vary pleased with it.
I got one of these the other day b\c they had free shipping :), so paid like 35.18 and got it in few days. Gonna test it in my B4.1. My gen ace packs are only charging to about 31xxmah and the the 5000 one I have has never charged to 5000 or above, has always charged to about 44xx or so, so it would be good to see if this actually charges to 5000 or not. Thanks for the reveiw Jang!
@blackychan195 Yes, but really hard to pull apart isn't always the best setup. Might not disconnect, but to disconnect it you have to put alot of stress on that joint/connection. Just saying.
Hey guy whats a cheap, good LiPo charger compatable with this battery...does EcoPower's lipo charger work with with this LiPo
