  • great blogs m8 wish i lived down south cause theres nowhere to go carping in manchester and the northwest apart from a couple witch are not that good fisheries

and not so big fish either

  • can you make home made pellets?

  • yes but why bother as there so cheap

  • @TheCarpCatcher Its just i make my own bait and i want a matching pellet were would i start?

  • i have no idea mate

  • Do I hear Shania Twain playing in the background Steve??? ... A cracking choice of music if I do say so myself!

  • shania is ok eh.

  • Couldn't agree more! haha

Fantastic vids mate. Keep it up!

  • yeh i realised that after i put it oops!!! will invest in some waders for the summer.

  • hi bud, loved the little bit with the swallows!!,cant wait until 2009 i plan to revisit the pack and try the point swim, any tips highly appreciated, sorry i missed you this year i was told that you dont go fishin weekends much. all the best rich

  • alright mate i think they were starlings. If the fish are holed up out in the lake then the point is good else fish very tight to the margin.

Weekends finds me working whilst the rest of the country is fishing.

  • hi steve have u ever been to the nash resort in france? or any carp fishing holidays abrord, woud u recomend it?

    gaz

    cool blog me old china

  • I have not fished abroad yet but hope to in 2009 however it will most likely not be comercial places but off the beaten track.

  • you lucky bastard you, that beautiful lake all to yourself! :( Get em Steve!

  • You going to be saying that quite a bit over the next year i think:-)

  • Is there anything better than having a warm windy lake to yourself? I don't think there is.

  • erm a big carp too:)

    Ha! ha!

It was pretty awesome knowing that I was completly on my own and there was no chance of another angler turning up and chucking out a spod

  • Use of a boat hey, That will give you a great insight into the topography, well handy. Have you made up a viewing bucket yet ?

  • No bucket as the water was clear enough to see enough:)

I found craters 6ft acrross and 3ft deep 100's of yards out on the plateau in 4-5ft of water and plenty of scrubbed spots.

That boat also showed me just how obvious braid and mainline is in the water!

I was able to use it and follow it out all the way to the rigs!

This is how i came to the new conclusions about rig and setup theroy that i now have.

I have changed some of the the ways I fish completly since then.

  • Nice vid Steve.I've been willing you to move & get that wind in your face!Interested in what you said about those milky tofees coz even though my mates & I have our own private bait company,I've caught a couple of nice fish on those;it pays to have some commercial alternatives in your armoury!

  • Yes i like a white bait as they really stand out well.

The smell is good too and holds well in these popups, i used the nash airballs too and they were pretty handy.

  • God thats screaming fish cant wait its gotta happen everything looks pukka i,d be twitching it looks so good.

  • My ears were ringing from the constant rushing of the wind so every now and then i had to pop into the car to get some rest for the old lugs...

But it did look good eh?

part 4 up around xmas eve.

  • nice vid keep up the good work m8
