  • at least in TGU pilots KNOW where are they going to land; as passenger it is simply frightening. I remember that from my seat i could see the interior of a house in the hills parallel to the runway and there was this guy watching TV like nothing. And just wait for the take-off, it is as frightening as the landing...

  • Ha, might wanna check the gear suspension and hydraulics after that one. lol

  • Stupid question. Why can't they just fly straight in?

  • This is realy hard landing

  • If coming down through all those mountain passes isn't enough, the first view of the runway on the left is just plain scary. When I first saw the runway, I thought there was no way the plane could land and stop quickly enough in that little space. That is a scary landing. No wonder one of the crew said "That's not fun". I can only imagine.

  • Concerto for trimwheel indeed.

  • Shake them Maracas...trim wheel..

  • 30, 20, 10, bam! That's quite a drop in such short time for a big jetliner.

  • This is AWESOME footage but something tells me this is not a 737 but a smaller plane... or the footage is speeded up... I dont think large planes respond so rapidly to pilot inputs... they change direction more slowly and deliberately.... its the smaller planes that float down like a leaf responding to every twitch of the controls. Any pilots out there to correct me if I am wrong ??? Thx.

  • @FantasyLabs @FantasyLabs i'm not a real pilot (jet) but i hope this will answer your question

    /watch?v=v_z5HtME9n8

  • That was extraordinary! I would like to know however, what is the nature of the noyse heard on the first 3/4 of the video, it sounds like ssssshhuuuuiichhhh.

  • @enriquealberto37 It's the turbines, i believe.

  • @Edgehead178 No, I don't think so. This sound is within the cabin and it cycles on and off.

  • @enriquealberto37 It's the trim wheels.

  • @pauljmather They're on either side of the center console and sound like a sewing machine.

  • @pauljmather thanks partner.

  • If one of the pilots state "That's not fun. I don't like this one.", you know that's a stressful landing.

  • if you dislike this video your a pussy

  • It looks easy when i play jet games on my ipod touch

  • Your youtube name is "Planestuff" but this video is the only plane stuff?

  • In Honduras is a saying that "planes crash with cars and trains with ships", don't laugh, is TRUE.Over 40 years ago, a main road pass thru the runway landing direction, one day a commercial Honduran plane was landing TOO LOW that the landing gear crash with a passing passenger bus, several die on the bus, in mid air the plane gain altitude with damaged gear in one side, the pilot flew over the city for about 1 hour to burn gas, and landed with tires only in one side, he received a hero welcome.

  • The airport has been in use since the 50's so the airport despite renovations, don't have enough terrain, and ended in a ravine, the landing feels like an elevator going down, is very vertical, but the JET Boing 737 or other craft are design for short runways. But Departing is another experience, since the plane need to elevate very vertical to avoid El Picacho, a massive mountain view in front of the runway, if this scare you enough, you can land in San Pedro Sula, in flat land, 4 hours N.

  • I'm a native from Tegucigalpa, and travel as passenger my first time in the early 70's, using the Tocontin International Airport, and used many other times over the years. What do you see in the video is real, but never is as be there at least once. The video is short, what really happen is that the Pilots need to descend and dance between the mountains at least 30 minutes before landing, and believe me, make you think about God..the Pilots that landed there are specially trained for short runways

  • E um Boieng de certeza com pilotos ou no sistema automático é uma the Landing, fantástica...

  • Wow...

  • 0:23 - heheheheh, they're on a choo choo train! :D

  • @hookiebookie1 no, it's the altitude alert :DD

    LOL

  • @SuperApple1995 haha i know, just sounds so awesome! Must be a fantastic job! :D

  • Comment removed

  • 03.52.Peter Griffin (Family Guy) is on the flight deck.

  • Pretty cool. It would have been more interesting if you'd used some sort of framing as a point of reference or even showed the crew at work. Watching the pilot and copilot as they're landing and taking off is really cool.

  • comalapa in el salvador is better !!!!

  • Are you sure this is a 737? Sounds more like a prop/turboprop plane to me ;) But maybe it's just the bad mic...

  • @dunerfstgehsterben i think it is a 737-800 just that the video seems likes it's running faster then it should and maybe the sound got pitched up as well.

  • @phantom0482 how the hell are you actually able to tell if it is an 800????? You can only say it's Boeing by the callouts, you cannot specify which boeing, and even more, no way you can know the variation.

  • @ceco150495 Only reason i said this is because i work for American Airlines and this is the Equipment we send to TGU either that or a B752

  • Muy bien

  • can you land in the night too??

  • its actually very tough to landing need to make tight turn

  • i never so like this video

  • why was the front end bobbing around so much on finals ? I felt like I was on an ultra light.

  • @yynnmmbb , like at 1:05, I thought I was going to throw up.

  • As a passenger, I would easily read Psalm 23 in the final approach until the plane get taxiway safety. This airport is simply insane

  • airport looked like st. maarten at 2:54

  • stupid londing stupid pilots if i was on da plan i wuld tell dems pilots dey is super shitty fer tru n dey wuld be very sad fer sure i tell dem pilots hey assholes u is super shitty fer tru cos dat londing wus super shitty o som shit fer tru

  • @bolakkbola ur face is super sitty...

  • @TheLameJosh *shitty

  • Not so tough. I landed the Space Shuttle there when I was 15.

    (oops. Nasa super sekrit...My bad.)

  • Not easy money for the pilots

  • How far is the drop at the end of the runway is the qustion?

  • "that's not fun, I don't like this one" jajaja

  • When does the Captain turn off AP during an ILS landing?

  • @MyhreProductions When the runway is in in sight and you are cleared to land, it happens that the clearance is given before u establish visual contact with the runway, therefore you keep approaching until visual contact with the runway is made.

  • Nice landing on a short runway.

  • Wow, pilots have such a tough job. They have my respect.

  • @marcphilos if people would just quit bitching about how its so expensive to fly anywhere then they would get paid what they deserve. and they better like paying taxes too.

  • @lovetazzy83 +1

  • @marcphilos Nowadays pilots dont have to do as much as in the 50's and 60's. Almost everything is automatic. I'm not saying you shouldn't respect them. I'm saying it doesn't take as much effort as you might think.

  • Thats crazy turning short final, but what a nice landing!

  • perfect...

  • Perfectly executed. I'll be your passenger any time.

  • Now that is one crazy approach!!! worse/better depending on your view, than the old "Kai Tak"

  • amazing

  • un aerpuerto de lo peor muy buen piloto

  • I agree with one of the pilot's comments, landing on such a short runway and having to fly over that mountain just before you touchdown definitely no fun. I wouldn't like it either but it is a good thing if I'm not mistaken the runway was extended.

  • i can hear its a 732

  • What is that clicking sound you can hear? On all these videos, you can hear a sound similar to a bunch of cameras at a press conference. Just curious.

  • @ProLifeFamilyAndGun Elevator trim

  • Is there any thing more enjoyable than watching trained professionals accomplishing with ease tasks that the rest of us can only dream about accomplishing?

Personally, I feel small watching this.

  • @3nasacova I really appreciate that, I am in full agreement

  • @3nasacova You and me both

  • @3nasacova

    No pilots but autpilot

  • @3nasacova so true..

  • Do you guys like going to them 3rd world countries?

  • acttion at 2:45

  • I want to be a pilot since I was a kid only thing is that I sucked in physics and maths :'(

  • @sugar135able You don't need to be good at maths or physics, although it does help, but pilot training costs a lot of money.

  • @citywideMojo But a guy told me that if I want to be a pilot I need to have extremely good maths and physics

  • @citywideMojo You need to be relatively good at it but not extremely good. You will need a C in Maths at GCSE level but that's piss easy.

  • Wow! Right on! I love this video now. Straight in finals are just to boring to see on, and on, and on.

  • Bad landing.

  • @xipwnyouxx kidding me, That was a great landing. its not like the camera won't shake upon touchdown.

  • been there. for me it was pretty nerve wracking landing there

  • Tough things to put in mind & most challenging in Aviation:

    1. Weather

    2. Dense Traffic Horizon

    3. Schedule

    4. Gross Weight, Speed & Fuel Calculations

    In addition to runway conditions.

  • NO ROOM FOR ERROR.................PERIOD.

  • Where is the cockpit?

  • @sighisoaraa behind the camera!

  • @sighisoaraa In the front.

  • Whoa, remind me not to fly there. Very cool video though.

  • i was bored and wrote "landing"

  • Gee, you wouldnt wanna land late on the runway, no room for error!

  • "That's not fun, I don't like this one" meaning the airport. You definitively don't want to hear that from a captain.

  • what's the chime at 0:25 and the pumping sound? trim?

  • Nice landing...

  • Would love to do that approach...

  • or Create a video response thlkplt / landing watch to youtube

  • 119 people were in that plane.

  • this is one of my favorite videos! Nice landing.

  • bad ass turning onto that!

  • woosh woosh woosh woosh woosh woosh woosh woosh, that's not fun, i don't like this one. mountain flying in 737's is never toooo much fun.

  • @b101aa2 woosh woosh woosh is the stab trim wheel moving in the cockpit.

  • @nikardem i know. i had about 3,000 hrs in them some years ago.

  • amazing..simply amazing.

    Thx for this video!

  • I've flown into Toncontin airport as a passenger in the days of turboprops and jets, and the approach is always hairy. You fly around steep terrain surrounding the airport, come through a narrow pass, with a steep descent, and if you overshoot the landing, well, there's a cliff at the end of the runway. Many years ago, there was a wrecked aircraft left at the bottom of the embankment/cliff as a reminder to the pilots that they got one shot. Upon landing a successful landing, the paxs clap.

  • I never listen to Bob and Dan on sports radio 1310 The Ticket

  • whao , when you said jet I thought that was an F-16 or something , then I read the description :p what speed they were flying at ? Because that seemed pretty fast compared to other landing videos on youtube .

  • Is this with Delta or AA??

  • What is that constant tshoosh tshoosh sound?

  • @op3l that is the sound of elevator trim in action. All older boeings/MDs does that

  • @MrTerppos Thanks!

  • wow what for a cool pilot

  • 119 ppl do not belong on the internet

  • Griffin, family guy??

  • Jesus fucking Christ. That was like watching a suspense flick. You just kept anticipating the runway after each turn he made because they were so close to the ground - and you see a white strip out in the horizon thinking that might be it. Only to see the short runway right in front of them at a still relatively high altitude. I wouldn't risk my career flying into that airport - even if the doubled my salary.

  • Woah... impressive...

  • OH......Good^^

  • ive totally been to this airport!!! its pretty damn scary

  • It always puts ur mind at ease to hear someone in the cockpit say, " I don't like this one, that's not fun". I want confident people flying my ass, but not over confident or complacent either.

  • @BrunoPotyguara1996 huh? what's Russia gotta do with this landing? lol wrong side of the continent bud! this is in Honduras..

  • @MadridHopper005 watch Family Guy...

  • @MadridHopper005 Wrong site of the continent?! LOL Wrong side of the world buddy! :D

  • that was awesome

  • Boeing 737 is not a jet, it's a commercial aircraft, a jet is like the F/A-18, or F-14, put alot of people get that mistake.

  • @crazyish1000 you can take the "ish" off of your signature, B737 is sure as hell a jet.A good one at that.

  • And i thought the runway at Laguardia was short. lol..

  • once he straightened out on final, from "my' viewpoint anyway, wow...he was a bit high. like, 50 -75 ft high, at 1/2 mile out. still, he got 'er down. just a bit hairy looking from the cockpit. almost appears he would have overflown a good portion of runway, and overrun into the rough. Ughh. nice job. i imagine a "go around" here just adds drastically to the Risk Factor.

  • You don't even need to say it's a 737, you can hear it is from the trim haha.

  • @Danbo342 i was thinking the same thing!

  • THE PILOT AT 03:55 said it the best. hahahah

  • @blkpylut 3:52 ;)

  • Must be a bitch at night

  • you know it's bad when the pilot screams...

  • they have since closed the road on the approach end, leveled the hill on close final and extended the runway. good idea!

  • @BrunoPotyguara1996 As opposed to "you land runway?"

  • @englandish43 "Plane lands you" would have made more sense

  • @RandomPedestrian63 Thats englandish43's point!

  • @SimonMilesVoice I figured

  • Yeah.. thats some serious flying.. the amount of training those guys get to do that approach must be pretty high...

  • nice and soft landing

  • great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

  • Where is a country?

  • Been there in the mid-80s. I really felt like being aboard a Stuka bomber when the aircraft plunged to the airport surrounded by mountains. I'm scared of flying so that's a moment I still remember. National airline was called TAN then and it was the only one flying from Miami to Tegucigalpa. A US airline had ceased operating flights to there when their pilots went on strike because it was too dangerous, *sigh* back in those days Honduras was a nice a safe place to go, with very friendly people.

  • Who had the great idea to build the runway there?

  • @BrunoPotyguara1996 That stupid shit is getting really old, ok? Use that exceptional wit of yours, and think of something new, ok?

  • Shake the maracca's...with the pilot Peter Griffin 'trimming' the plane.

  • awesome! what flight is it?!

  • God bless the pilots who accept the challenges of this approach on a regular basis.

  • I don't think he remembered to use his turn signal when he taxied off the runaway

  • Very dangerous airport in honduras tegucigalpa, back in the early 90's my cousin was working for the hundarian airline name sahsa, she called sick the day when the plane cash in this bad airport , ...everyone die that day, no survivors...it was cloudy, and the tail off the plane hit the mountaine. After the crash she quit the job, thx God she is alive cus of her flu..

  • If you take the time to load up Google Earth, you can chart this flight path right in - pretty neat - at the beginning of the vid, the plane is basically approaching the airport deadon, but has to do an end run to approach the runway from the other end...so sweet

  • "That's not fun. I don't like this one." lol

  • Beautiful landing. Amazing video. How can the pilots even find that tiny airport in the middle of all those mountains? I admire those brave pilots.

  • Great video.

    What flight simulator is this?

    (kiddin;)

  • Quite a challenging approach and little time to adjust once lined up for runway. Everything seems to happen so quick within the last 30 seconds. Not an airport for the unanitiated, thats for sure.....

  • are you flying that plane?

  • wow...beautyfull aproach...wel done landing..just went solo today...was awesome, become a pilot is my dream life, im geting there, have a good day guys...and yeah, that was realy fun!!!!!

  • ohh thats not fun i dont like this 1

  • Its not a jet !

  • @myownmedia ya its a 737

  • chhssh chhssh chhssh chhssh chhssh chhkkhhh......

wat was that sound coming in the begining...?

  • @911mastermind

    Thats the elevator trim.

  • @boyromantico i thought 737 was only a single storey plane.....why the hell do they need an elevator for??

or maybe ur takling about some other elevator? I dont have million hours of flight experience....am only aeroplane fan....

  • @911mastermind lol... I guess you missunderstood. Elevator trim is used by pilots to hold an airplane at a particular pitch attitude..

  • @boyromantico using the flaps??

  • @911mastermind Not necessary. Elevator trim is set at a certain degree for takeoff, it also sets itself automatically when using autopilot. When it comes to landing yes, its also used with the flaps down..

  • "That's not fun... I don't like this one!" Hehe sweatin it out...

  • I love the feeling of hitting the ground after a long flight. The taxi to the gate is the best part of the flight!

  • I just went this past month on a TACA propeller plane...maad scary but exciting at the same time...and I was just a passenger lool

  • beautiful approach and landing

  • He was coming in hard. Sixty,..Thirty...Ten...Touch down!

  • Where the hell was the airport on the approach ??

  • Absolute manual

  • what he said in the end makes all the money...

  • The Most Dangerous Airport for Commercial Jets.

  • @PilotGery1 The most dangerous is actually in Nepal. This would be #2. In Nepal you only get one approach. If you fail, you have no room to pull out and come back around.
