Why on earth are you keeping this poor guy as a pet? Humans are the worst invention ever. We take animals (in this case, insects) out of their natural environment, put them in a tiny plastic box or cage so they have limited room to run, and call them our pet. It's sick. And on top of that we disturb them and scare the shit out of them by touching them repeatably with our giant finger in their perspective.

After a search on the internet I found out that this is a Pseudophyllus-species.

It's probably Pseudophyllus hercules, although there are quite simular other Pseudophyllus-spiecies.

Wow, this is a realy beautifull katydid.

The chirp is very special, realy bird-like.

I didn't know there where grasshoppers or crickets that chirp in case of threat, that is very new to me!

Commonly, the males chirp to attract females, to mate with them or to hold other males on a distance.

But of course, this is a tropical species, with different behaviour.

I just know the common European katydids like Tettigonia viridissima, Leptophyes punctatissima and Conocephalus dorsalis, etc.

i am aware of common sense but what you obviously don't understand is that a grasshopper's "brain", if that is what one wishes to call it's version of a central nervous system, isn't as advanced as a mammals or even the goldfish's because an insect's book lungs can't distribute oxygen to that part of the body efficiently enough. in other words, they can't experience stress. when an insect in the wild dies it is due to natural causes OTHER than experiencing stress.
