NiGHTS is just whatever gender you personally think s/he should be.

NiGHTS is genderless and its gender is determined to who he/she dualizes with.

But the fans also have the rights to think what they want.

Personally, I like NiGHTS more as a girl, than a boy. (even tho I know she's genderless)

I think that the Nights is a personification of the New Testament scriptural reference "The Two will become one flesh". This indicating that the Nights character is a affirmation of the Biblically correct "Natural Affection" that exists between a Man, and A Woman. This, in effect making Nights the spiritual embodiment of both Elliot, and Claris. And in reality "it" does not exist independently of either of them,

Although Nights appears to be a single personage, "it" is not.

I agree with you. I have always liked NiGHTS a girl and Reala a boy. I don't like the whole fight over NiGHTS's gender though. I kind of wish people would just keep their opinions to themselves because it leads to a lot of flame wars.

But there's no difference gameplay wise. Anyway, if you beat the game with Reala in Christmas NiGHTS, you can play as him whenever you want.
