  • As soon as I heard 'it won't be abused' I knew it was a guarantee it would be. So when are they changing the name of the country from the 'UK' to Airstrip One ?

  • AUDIO - WOW

  • We need to be aware of the incrementalism the creeping acceptance of big brother in our lives .These are literally beta tests of whether you as the public will accept it or not and the intrusive nature of it does not stop until every aspect of your life is recorded. So you should not accept even little intrusions because there will always be another after it.A government cannot protect you through life and it should'nt.You need to grow up and make responsible decisions for your life.

  • State run,no way i hate big brother but if it was by the cab company for driver safety and deleted after every shift then that would be fine just like some buses have.I just don't want government having footage of where I go what i do how many cab rides I have, also who i am with, what I was talking about and then it being put in some big brother data base.No Way!

  • This is not new. Pretty sure they've had cameras and mics in most cabs in Aus for some time now... Same with buses. don't be a douche to a cabbie and you have nothing to worry about.

  • The UK people are the ones who ALLOW things like this to take place. The same applies to all people who let their government trample their freedom's.

  • As if the UK weren't already fucked up enough, they pull some bullshit stunt like this. Glad to be a Kiwi.

  • It's always the fucking dumb young girls that are the target of the "security for privacy" sales. They are perfect pawns for ushering in a police state because the police state likes to "sell" security. But what these dumb girls don't know is, the police state loves to watch them undress at night and watch them shower using the same technology they think it bring them more "security".

  • "The only place yet to be surveilled is the home and how long will that last?"

What do you think a mobile phone and webcam is for? They can all be accessed remotely by the State if they want to.

  • @EllyMcCormack Of course but they haven't gone so far as literally putting cameras in the home which is probably where this is going.

  • @PlanetEarthAwakens01 They don't need to. Your modem for instance produces tides of microwaves that, like radiowaves, their behaviour moving through the room and through objects can be translated into a 3d image.

  • Do you actually realize what cab drivers deal with? as a former cabbie i think cameras and mics in the cabs are an excellent idea, the help in keeping the driver safe as well as knowing who has robbed certain cabbies

  • @4everjesusrules That's right... Give up Liberty in the name of safety.

  • @KSee20 The cameras aren't live feed cameras, they activate once a passenger gets into your cab and then records, making sure there is no problems,

  • @4everjesusrules It's time we see the forest through the trees, wouldn't you agree?
