alright here's the thing. I respect mayer for what he's doing for the blues scene and he has talent. that being said, he is completely overrated. i used to work in the music business and i can assure you there are countless guitarists younger than mayer that are lightyears ahead of his abilities. Check out derek trucks, joe bonamassa, smokin joe robinson, or really just walk into any bar in nashville. most real talent is never heard because of the long and lonesome road to commericial success.
YOU ARE SO LUCKY YOU WERE THERE!!! haha Thats so tight that you can watch the DVD and just be like whatevs I was there no big deal. Haha thats pretty sick.
Man. I freakin' love this DVD. I wish I could have been their for this! Joe Bonamassa is another great guitarist. I'd love to see them two play together. They both rock!
Man! I played the Two-Rock custom signature reverb the other day (John's amp), and man, the tone that amp makes is not just absolutely beautiful, but it's its own sound and there is nothing else out there that will make that sound. John Mayer makes me want to just give up guitar playing haha!
nice to see they didn't actully have to edit the dvd much...he really plays that well

now i just feel it, doesn't this song seem like Red House from Jimi Hendrix?
i know it's different, but the feel of it is kind similar
loneyfob 2 years ago
@loneyfob Yeah both are slow blues. A lot of slow blues sounds like this, haha
He kind of toys with the Hendrix theme in the lyrics too:
Ain't been home to see my baby in ninety-nine and one half days.
So tired of running after you girl and being one and one half steps behind.
RuecianG 1 year ago
@RuecianG one and one half anything is used in a lot of blues songs
