  • This Is In Latin As Most Medieval Songs Are.

  • Apparently, Christian churches are built in places where a dragon has been slayed. It's like a sign that "good triumphed" and shit. Stupid religion. They made dragons evil and the stuff of myths, but I believe they were real.

  • @raudonakurtke I WISH that they were real.

  • @raudonakurtke

In ancient pagan religions (Northern mythology, greek mythology, etc.) dragons were evil too. This is not a christian invention.

  • @raudonakurtke Maybe the grate stupid here is you who believe in dragons. Never heared nothing about dragons like this in the western culture.

  • at 1:07 it is a scene from the movie LUTHER, great movie, but was not in medieval times, it was in the renaissance era

  • @liljames326 It is not guitar, it is a harp

  • Go look at pics of destroyed castles, you see freaking massive gaping holes through walls as thick as houses, usualy burn marks to, I have studied the physics and history of it, sieges could NOT cause this level destruction, think about weapons of the period and strength of walls, castle blown clear apart? Even the cannon and explosive era its very hard to mimic the damage, maybe tons of earthquake? maybe years of pointless picking at the wall? Maybe something else like they tried to tell us! :O

  • The great God created man to be happy ...and love Him...not had to suffer !.

  • medieval middle east is the best!

  • Medieval England at its best!

  • The Dragon is part of the soul of my land! The first written text of northern Portugal was "Ora Maritima" and it describes all its inhabitants, including the Dragani people. Still today, a "Dragão" is a inhabitant of Porto city. Its a simbol of strength and of our people. Our first flag was a red Lion (for Galicia people) and a green Dragon (for northen Portugal people).

    Nice video, best regards ;-)

  • A dragon is a simple thing....its a dinosaur...most of magic things really exists ..but are very ancient...try to imagine:when God made that rain to kill all the sinners..for me its =with the acid rain that made the dinosaurs disappers....so my answer is really simple:Dragons are lost dinosaurs.

  • LONG LIVE KING ARTHUR!

  • @selearemus good luck xD

Just try to listen to the music, it's what I do. I could care less what the lyrics involved... unless it was really personal.

  • great music... =)

  • J.R.R Tolkien said he felt that he only co-created his world. that only god can truly make something. So maybe our imaginations aren't simply imaginations. maybe they're a mirror of some other far off place or time or universe...

  • Blackmore's Night turned this song into a track called "Fires at Midnight"

  • this reminds me of the hobbit

  • lovely

  • Beautiful, European culture is disappearing, we don't need immigrants.

Translation of google was not enough, anyway, thanks for the comment.

  • what are you talking about? im speaking in english it seems you are too!

  • oh nevermind

  • Hey is 0:52 to 1:37 a scene from the movie "Martin Luther" ???

I remember that scene when I had to watched it in a Catholic religious class. Oh the irony =p

BTW thank you for the great video and relaxing music! :)

  • Germans,

yes, they are images of the film that tells the story of Martin Luther.

Thank you for your excellent comment!

    Hugs,

    Vinicius

  • the idea of dragons in medieval times was made in the begining of XX century. You are hoolywood victims :)

  • And the Tristan and Iseult legend where Tristian kills a dragon is from XX century from holywood right? One of many examples.

  • @kenchimarius That's not entirely true. The patron Saint of England is Saint George who in the myth slayed a dragon. Dragons were not central but they did appear in medieval times.

  • Does any one else find it agrivating that dragons are almost always thought of as, "evil". seriously, I think dragons are like people-they have good and evil fighting inside them and which ever is strongest will come out. Anyway, cool video and long live the dragons!!!

  • Spidermanandsnape,

    your comment is very interesting.

    I would appreciate it, thanks.

    Hugs,

    Vinicius

  • yes, I do! But sometimes the things that aren't real can teach us more than real things in real life. stories show us morals, and even though dragons aren't real, they are still cool. if you are into harry potter, or lord of the rings, or twilight or any fictional book, the things in it aren't real, but they had to be based off of something. Long live the IDEA of dragons.

  • I understand your point of view and I agree with you!

  • @spidermanandsnape Well said, Long Live the Idea of Dragons!

  • @mesa069 thanks for the comment

  • @spidermanandsnape actually there have been remains that seem to point to dragons actually being real; i think i remember reading somwhere they found the reamins of a creature with chemicals in its head where it could actually breathe fire...though its been awhile since i heard this and can't remember where or if it was real but maybe if you want to can look into it :D

  • @markusthefarkus

    Oi Markus,

    obrigado pelo seu excelente comentário!

    Abraços,

    Vinicius

  • @markusthefarkus why dont you look up reptilians

  • @markusthefarkus

Dragons are represented in the mythologies of pretty much every culture on Earth. However, in delving into those mythologies and into the cosmologies that encompass them, their representation is most often symbolic of a more invisible and all-pervasive life-force. For instance, in both ancient Celtic Druidry and Chinese Taoism, the dragon symbolized the awesome life-force of either the entire world or of Creation as a whole.

  • @flyingmojo5

    excelente o seu comentário!

  • @flyingmojo5 Dragons were real. One is described in the text of the Old Testament.

  • @spidermanandsnape I've never heard truer words...

btw, does anyone know if dragons were ever put into Medieval myth as anything other than tyrannical beast-lords? I mean, were they ever depicted as heroes? Because it seems that they're always the antagonists in any myth like Beowulf and Arthur... or did Arthur even have a dragon? lol

  • @EdikShepherd I don't know if they ever were before, except the reluctant dragon, but I am writing a story right now where they are, as I said, like humans. they have rituals, ceremonies, and rage just like us. And they are going to seem evil at first, burning villages and stuff, but later you find out that they are doing that to defend themselves, and it is really an ongoing war. In this story they are going to become equals to the humans, sort of like in Eragon. the dragons were food and bad

  • @spidermanandsnape You are? That's odd, I'm a bit of a fantasy writer myself as well. I'm going into a story where the hero uses a dragon as a companion in his adventures.

  • @EdikShepherd cool! when you finish it, let me know so I can read it!

  • I shutter to think that I used Twilight in this comment as an example of something good! oh well, I guess I wanted it to appeal to everyone

  • @spidermanandsnape i was really liking your comment until you mentioned twilight... YOU SUCK.
