I am Canadian, no Pinoy blood. I fell in love with the Philippines the first time I visited there in 2006. Before visiting, I had always heard that it is a third world country, but I was amazed by the rich culture, the people and the beauty of the country. I have traveled from Manila to Zamboanga and everywhere I went, people were so friendly. You have much to be proud of.

They purposely destroyed Intramuros. They wanted to erase the entire Spanish heritage from Manila and throughout Philippines. Intramuros remembered too well Spanish Philippines, they bombed Intramuros, destroyed not only buildings, but killed all who lived there, al of them Spanishspeaking people ... I do not know how Filipinos feel today, but I do hate the Americans for that.
Oh! Filipinas.... in the last times I am starting to listen some filipino traditional songs. Certainly you have to be proud to have such a culturaly rich country with tones such as "tierra adorada" or "caviteño soy", "aray" and such good writers such as Rizal, Gomez- Widham, Lazaro-Baxter,Nilda Guerrero.... what a rich country to be proud of it!!!
Who are the the singers? I think this is something everyone should see, too. So many know so little about the culture of the Philippines. It's so rich!
Being an American that has been to this wonderful place many times all I can say is that it is a beautiful place with probably the friendliest people I have ever met.... and I have met many. So... mahal na pilipinas buang buhay, I want to one day just move there and spend my time on only important things like... living! Ingat lagi kapit bahay hehehe.

i am half filipino and half caucasian. i lived in manila as a kid and now lives in cavite. our province is the beautiful pampanga and i wouldnt have it any better. i love the philippines and im proud to be a filipino. there's just one regret i have. i regret having to live in this government. i hate the administration and what they're doing to our country and our poor countrymen
