Actually, communism is only meant to be a transitional phase. The Communist government is meant to simply become obsolete as class is abolished, and a classless utopia is formed. Lenin tried to implement measures to bring this about, but the civil war as well as the massive food shortages and dying economy, meant there was no way this could work in the short-term.

You can't compare the two. Both were sociopaths, but Stalin's mind and disorder worked in a different way to Hitler's. I think that he was more concious of what he was doing, and more delluded, which is why his condition (and acts thereof) seemed the worst out of the pair.

Actually, communism is only meant to be a transitional phase. The Communist government is meant to simply become obsolete as class is abolished, and a classless utopia is formed. Lenin tried to implement measures to bring this about, but the civil war as well as the massive food shortages and dying economy, meant there was no way this could work in the short-term.
Then Lenin dies, Stalin takes over, and it's all fucked. TBH, I'm not sure it could've worked, but this wasn't wat Lenin aimed for

Trotsky argued for continuous revolution and support for all foreign communists, but we all know what Stalin did to him. It essentially became NATIONALISM after Stalin took over. Has anyone here actually read any of Bakunin's work? What Bakunin had in mind was no less authoritarian than what Marx did. You should, before going any further, abandon the notion that Marx was a Leninist and read Marx. You should then read. That's the best thing you can do for yourself.

Yes, there is a world of difference between Marxists and Marx, between Bukuninists and Bakunin. Read the Primary Texts! Then, if you must, read or listen to peoples interpretations of their ideas.

Real people. I understand how they felt.Looks like to me that they just exchanged one totalitarian leader in for the other and as soon as Stalin was able to murder Lenin, he did exactly that. All the problems that the US and Russia are having now are the result of Stalin's paranoia. And it never stops.

The communist death toll in Russia is less than 2 million russians if you don't count wwII. if you do, its 29 million. 100 million dead russians, or even chinese, is an overstatement. further, capitalism's (at least at the beginning of industrialization) death toll is similar, if you look at little kids, women, and men dying in the factories.

Sad video. The great hero of anarchist theory sided with the Allies in WWI. To trash the Soviets you fetisise democracy. But there's nothing inherently progressive about direct democracy, in fact it's often the opposite, and most gains against chauvinism were made by centralisation.
