  • A truly great british piano concerto in all but name - I ordered this for Birmingham library, was blown away by it. The Symphonic variations are more famous but this is the greater piece by far. Love it. Thanks!!

  • LOVE this work, ever since I first heard this recording 23 years ago. Yay, Margaret Fingerhut! And LPO! And the conductor, is it Bryden Thomson or Vernon Handley. Just terrific. A new recording with Ashley Wass is forthcoming as of 14 August 2010.

  • The pianist does justice to the score, assuming one can do justice to a score, assuming that justice has anything to do with it, which it probably doesn't. Count me as a fan.

  • I like this very much. It is excellent.

  • This comes at a very good time when I'm trying to get more familiar with Bax's work. I must say I still kind of prefer Tintagel and the first symphony to this, but this shows Bax's mastery of orchestration as well as both of those works. Thanks very much for posting!

  • danke! transparent!

  • Oops I accidentaly clicked 2 stars.

  • Thank you for this. For me this music explores an imaginary world.
