I thought after 20 something years the industry could not do anything? Isnt there a copyright limitation? Besides if you saw this and was like "oh shit" I remember those guys, then go out and buy the album, again... I met some amazing people in the biz back i the day but the most amazing part was thinking to myself how some of the musicians and smartest folks I know were getting raped by the industry people that are really no smarter than dirt. Goes to show you just how smart crooks really are.
Too bad I bought the album decades ago. Is there some way I can take it back !? @ I don't like to buy from anybody that F-up my play list. Maybe burn their cds in a bonfire, sort of like Beatles LP's got eh?
You know what's funny? When they remove the audio from these videos, all they're doing is pissing us off to the point where we'll NEVER buy the music, on CD or otherwise. Half of my LEGAL digital music collection is the direct result of hearing the songs on youtube then buying the track on iTunes. WMG is shooting itself in the foot with this bullshit. FUCK YOU.
U think this is bad? Next, WMG and RIAA r going 2 sue u 4 THINKING u could enjoy music in any shape or form without paying them royalties!! Muahahahaha!! Does ur lil daughter sing 2 u at th table during breakfast without paying residuals? Not anymore!! That tune u cant get out of ur head-free? Not anymore!! Sing in th shower 4 nada? Not anymore? In school at choir class or in church? Not anymore!! MUAHAHAHAHA!! All hail Sony!!
They are taking away all great music from the listeners, while today's crap (like the beautiful and agreed queen of stupid music, Rhianna, that is) is advertised like crazy!
If we are not making any money off of the videos and I assume that Youtube is not making money off of the videos (I assume that you make the money off of the advertisements.), then what is it hurting to see the videos? This who Copyright thing is just an illusion that is used to make the people that love coming to Youtube to see the videos that we grew up suffer, get mad and stop coming to Youtube eventually. JPIII
The only reason bands like this even have a following anymore is because we can watch the old videos on YouTube, I don't understand why they would think this is a bad thing, getting a new generation to want to see them live and buy their merchandise. Brilliant move idiots.
fuck warner. When they decide that they need shit like this to sell music in the future maybe they will turn the sound back on. No one fucking buys cds anymore. Its all downloaded off sites like this.
it's not forgotten, a year ago or so, dokken performed near my livingtown in holland never expected them to do that over here. i was there and had a blast!
The reason Dokken never got the recognition or commercial airplay they may have deserved is because they weren't really involved in any of the main styles of the time. They weren't death or thrash and they weren't glam, they did their own thing.
Ya know, going back and listening to this after all these years, it seems like this song was one of the few times that Don sounded tough and not wimpy and self-pitying.
AxerJk, the Churchill High School I went to was in Pittsburgh, PA. Glad to know somebody shared the same high school name!
Dokken seemed to always be stuck behind Ratt and Motley Crue as far as the LA scene goes but they didn't need the hype to get recognition that they still have today. This is by far my favorite song by them and it still sounds great today. I think 'Under Lock & Key' was Dokken's most complete album. An excellent addition to anybody's CD collection, in my opinion.
God there really is no justice in this world. Dokken is a relatively unknown band to most of the world, while Britney Spears is the most famous musician (if you can call her that) in the world right now
George at his best. He claims that he is great at improvising but he is not. He is great when he has time and money for refinement of his work. This solo is remarkable and very exciting.
George Lynch, a metal god no doubt. Don Dokken and George hated each other with a passion. Lynch went on to form Lynch Mob with Wild Mick Brown. Loved Lynch Mob to.
me too, man. i pretty much started playing guitar because i wanted to learn that opening riff of "just got lucky".
it was hard to get his solos 100% correct because if you listen really close he does a lot of "incidental" slides and scratches at the end of his runs.
Randall Padilla here (HotPicksUSA Monster Guitarist) ...way too many drinks... Fuckin' George Lynch is one bad motherfucker, PERIOD, end of sermon. -Randall Padilla
no kidding..look at who we had ,eddie van halen, randy rhoads, steve vai, adrian smith, joe satriani, stevie ray vaughn, kirk hammett, chris degarmo, alex lifeson, matthias jabs, hell ..even vinnie vincent would own these new dorks.the new guys are just happy to change chords!"smelly cat,smel-ly cat".some of the best of the new generation would be zakk wylde, and buckethead.. all the others can pack up their acoustics and call it a day..dave matthews..lol.
Always loved Dokken's music. Great guitar jams. Great vocals. Yeah. But I suggest finding a better audio source to listen than YouTube to appreciate the music.
yes i still got long hair still like bands like megadeath iron maiden judas priest and still love the headbangers ball ozzy and the preppies used to get beat on like the jocks long live the 80s and the class of 1985 would be 1984 but i stayed back lol
I've got a question for you jpintam, did you have long hair and hang out with all the "metalheads" or "headbangers" in high school? Isn't funny how we never lost our love for this kind of music? I betcha none of the "preppies" still listen to Cyndi Lauper or Culture Club anymore. We were (are still) the most loyal music fans ever ..2 decades later.
Yeah man. I am 38, Class of 1988 and I love these sentimental journeys this kind of music brings. This song especially reminds me of high school and being a teen in the 80's. I hate it for kids nowadays because it just seems like they don't have good rock-n-roll anymore. I still have my denim jacket w/backpatch, how 'bout you? I really get lost in memories hearing tunes like these. For a brief second I am 16 again, you know it?
k there hardly glam metal, i get that they can be lumped in thier but like there not fucking gay ass poison and shit, i always felt dokken had something hardcore about them even though they wernt "hardcore" i dont know, i just dont like the term hair or glam metal, dokken are heavy metal, one of the fuken best.

Truely under rated band that gives a kick ass live show. Saw them in the first monsters of rock tour with Ozzy in '88. We lit cars on fire for entertainment between bands. The only flaw in DOkkens performance was a broken bass E string (yeah...HOW???)
Been a Dokken fan since spring '97, when I would listen to Dream Warriors during the creidts of Elm Street 3 over and over again, after school. I broke down and bought Beast from teh East, and Dokken has been on of my favorite bands since than.
This songs simply rocks! One of their best, and one of the best songs from the 80's. I'm glad it's been reintroduced into the set list.
Dokken were always ahead of the pack, it's a real shame Motley Crue and Poison were the stars!
Man i wish there was still music like this! Today's bands are just lame. they either sing like the Cookie Monster trying to conjur up Satan, or are emo pussies. Bring back real pure rockin' music!!

Crush-40 is pretty good. n.n They're around these days, you should check them out too. This type of music still alive. o: Just underground!

Man i wish there was still music like this! Today's bands are just lame. they either sing like the Cookie Monster trying to conjur up Satan, or are emo pussies. Bring back real pure rockin' music!!
