I'm making this next weekend. I'm going to add pumpkin (asian starchy pumpkin... not the jack o lantern type) to it as well because pumpkin is AWESOME!!
Mmm love coconut chicken curry, looked good. I love coconut rice too. Will try this but I like to throw in whatever is at hand too, so will end up my own ghetto version :o) Liking not having to cut up the garlic though! I sometimes buy garlic puree in a jar but it's just not the same. I really enjoy your cooking vids, keep them coming please.
Hey Cathy, love your cooking video's! Really good for the university student like me, haha. Could you show us how to make like congee or any other proper asian dishes? Weird request, I know, but I don't know how to do any authentic chinese cooking and feel like I should, since I am, like Chinese. Haha.
OMG this looks so good Im gonna have to make this. Can you find Coconut cream at a regular grocery store in the states or do I need to go to a asian market?
@latinminx079 Haha, you can get coconut cream from a regular supermarket. Should be near the condensed milk section (at least, in New Zealand, it is :) )
Dang that looks so good! I have made curry before but with coconut milk and the curry that comes in those little blocks. I an going to try it with the cream cuz your dish looks so good! :)
@rosarosa68 coriander greens, chinese parsely, cilantro are the same thing. Different vocab for different parts of the world. So yes you can use cilantro ( which is the spanish word for plant) . enjoy
I am going to try this, but with all vegetables or maybe tofu--vegan-style, mang. Hehe. I just hope I can find coconut CREAM--I don't think I've ever seen it in the store! Could you do a tutorial on how to make a Thai coconut soup? I love to watch you cook!
@nij39 well coconut powder you have to dissolve in water first, so it won't be as creamy and thick. If you can't use coconut cream use some coconut powder and throw in some plain yoghurt instead.
@MsLaBelleMel I add tomatoes because it gives it a nice acidity... some ppl like to add lime for the acidity but i like tomatoes..haha it's not so sharp and in your face as lime... lol
@TheSukiebapswent thank you for watching! feel free to render this to your liking...haha add some lime, ginger and basil if you want or toasted almonds...I love it simple like this too
@Sassymarkrep you mean like tofu? yeah i can imagine it working...! try it out I make a vegan version all the time with cauliflower and instead of coconut milk I add maybe some chick peas and make it my aloo gobi version.
@ChefCaffy Morningstar Farms veggie style chicken strips. I think they are made out of soy protein. IMO, on their own, they are not the greatest but they make a great sub for dishes like this in a sauce.
@bubblegarms thanks hun! I made this the simpliest version but add more stuff to it if you want.. TO make it fancier I add toasted almonds, basil, ginger, kaffir lime leaves, red chilies, eggplants, some lime, cauliflower, carrots. Let me know how it goes..as this is such a simple dinner!
@ChefCaffy I will let you know, sounds so yummy - I've always thought that currys were fattenig but the coconut milk is such a better way to make it, I like the idea of adding lime.. mmm can't wait to make it!
looks yum!
