I was due to take off in 2 hours when they closed Bangkok airport. I used the 24hours I was there to chat to another Aussie who was a volunteer for CARE. He told me about the way votes are bought. So from an outsiders perspective I was actually in favour of the people peacefully disrupting the airport. The 100k I refer to is Thailand wide - over many months!

I could see why they would be driven to protest. The airport was really the means to get international pressure on the government. Buying votes is part of it - the court decided that.

Mostly tho people couldn't care who is PM as long as they looked out for the Thai people more than they cared about making sure their own were made well off - while other people are suffering and exploited - and truly they are and I don't think they need to be.

Exactly, I was supposed to go home tomorrow, but now my flights has been postponed indefinitely. I was supposed to be on Holiday for completing Uni, and this is what I get. Im sure they are sorry for these people but what is stopping the airport authority from getting some staff to man the check in desks and getting people on planes?
