@farbschlacht Yeah, I suppose but mainly the point of clipping whiskers is for shows because the standard these days is a clean clipped horse, I never clip my pony's nose unless I'm going to a show, if your just clipping for looks and arnt going any where, then yes that is completely ridiculous.
@ZainaCalloway It's hard for me to understande these showing standarts. showing fat horses is the next thing I don't get. Like dressage judges who should be able to see good riding , the showing judges should give better marks to well muscled horses and not fat ones.
@ZainaCalloway Thats true and the movement should be the main point for judging. but I heard from a lot of riders who show horses under the saddle, that it is essential to fatten up the horses before showing season because the judges like to see that. it seems so odd to me because judges and owners must know that a fat horse is not a healthy one...

horses have whiskers for a reason. clipping it of onlyt serves YOUR vanity

@farbschlacht True, horses do have whiskers for a reason, BUT THEY GROW BACK so its not like they are gone forever.

@ZainaCalloway Of course, but whats the point. if horse owners dont like the look of their horse, they should get a car or something else thats shiny

@farbschlacht It all depends on what the class is, mostly under saddle is based on how the horse moves, not their body shape.

@farbschlacht Yeah, I think horses look better and are nicer when they are fit.

it's all good if you can get your horse to tolerate clippers, what if you can't?
