  • Eh I was in a smart ass mood that day and stumbled across this. Anyone wasting time to dis these riders is silly, and anyone wasting time to dis the people who dis this video is also silly. Welcome to the silly club namkrow.

  • what is the music?

  • who care what people doin or people like

  • If by streetware you mean skin tight jeans that fixie dudes love some much then possibly if the girls wear the same style. Biketrials is cooler than road mtn fixie or single speed riding. Check out my videos and see why I think doing skids wheelies and and whatever else fixie riders do is silly.

  • You have girls? That's really something. Men having relationships with women, you must be so proud. Good point Bilo

  • @sloppybiker421 I meant in the community wise guy. There's quite a few girls riding FG/SS and generally girls will like the bad boy fixie rider in streetwear better than the pathetic looking amateur road biker in spandex.

  • I'm sick of all the hipster comments. They are young kids kicking ass on bikes. If you talk to most of these kids about their bikes, they'd be stoked. It's all about the bikes and biking. 18 people are jealous of the skills.

  • you are all a bunch of college know it all hippie lance armstrongs who try to combine something homosexual with bmx and its sooo gay

  • @ikill4fun87.... yes... and these people who dedicate their lives to this shit so they can do skids.... its just silly

  • @sloppybiker421 uh yeah, on behalf of the community I would like to apologize for being so silly that we like to have fun with bikes. Skidding is just a basic technique and it just happens to be fun on a fixie where you need a technique unlike skidding with brakes. People in the FG/SS community do other stuff like bike messenger work, bike polo, bike wars, alleycats, footdown, goldsprint etc. We also have girls muahaha.

  • Comment removed

  • @sloppybiker421 no, you and @ikill4fun87 giving a shit about other people liking skids is silly.

  • @ikill4fun87 yet it's always you haters who bring sexuality into it. Maybe you have issues yourself.

  • why are u guys doing this= i can do aaaaall these tricks on my bmx and it just looks lame

  • @b1gbudda because freewheel is boring. Does your bmx have a fixed gear?

  • did you film this with your tamagotchi ??

  • all the "hipster" disses in the coms are crackin me up... they ride. most of em probably drink beer. bet most of you haters dont even ride. give em some credit.... besides some of em will have to join my gang after the apocalypse... beer and bikes.... we will rule the wasteland

  • ratio at :57 ?

  • fixies are like hookers, you pay good money for parts and get a bad ride in return.

  • @acealexh bah get a fucking clue. A top tuned fixie is a wonderful ride. Unlike the sloppy, non-responsive drivechain of any derailleur equipped bike.

  • @nilo2209 a sloppy arguement given by what I assume to be a disgusting hipster. I strongly dislike your kind.

  • Comment removed

  • @acealexh excuse my previous message. Here's what I wanted to say to you: You are wrong. I am not a hipster. I am a bike messenger. Lots of messengers around the world prefer fixies because it's more fun and last longer with less maintenance. That's a matter of taste. The drivetrain of a road bike is indeed sloppy - it has to be or the gears won't shift. On a fixie you have a really tight chain tension. I prefer this. I have rode the bike you prefer. Have you rode the one I prefer? I think not.

  • Silly rabbits. Tricks are for kids.

  • Fixe tricks are basic and dont take nearly as much skill as flat land bmx, trial bike, down hill ect. So all you fixe riders who hate of everyone else should fuck off. i ride a fixe and am not a total dbag. cause it isnt that hard or "cool" to ride one lol

  • @11cjasp11 Kay go 50 miles an hour in between traffic. Easy as cake.

  • @MrScubasuit can you go 50 mph on a fixed gear?

  • vaginaboob

  • I started with a fixie, and moved to a geared bike. Either way I spend too much money but at least I go fast now. The best bit was learning to keep a high cadence. The worst thing was no more wheelies D:

  • fixes are WAY to overpriced!!! but they're still cool

  • @dudeitsart Not really. If you look hard enough you can build a decent one for under $300. Decent track bikes are around the same price as decent BMX bikes. Road bikes are WAY pricier. More components = more money. That shit can get expensive. Look around eBay for used wheelsets and frames.

  • @rewind316 i guess your right i've only looked at those high end one that cost like $900 but i do know that the high end bmx bikes cost at most $500-$700, i'm not talking about custom builds i'm talking about completes and @wongnumba thats one expensive derailleur you got there!

  • @dudeitsart all high end derailleurs are expensive! my road bike was 3400. got a set of wheels that cost more than the high end fixie you were looking at also

  • @dudeitsart lol are you stupid? the derailleurs alone on my road bike are worth two fixies, depending on what bike you're looking at...

  • @wongnumba lol... very much so depending, very much so.

  • "just bike brothers, and yes i do smoke too much pot"

    hahaha

  • somehow i think that keo cheats haha i dont know how hes so good at riding

  • i swear every flippin' fixie video has a comment war of people arguing about "who was here first" or "who has the bragging right" and then theres the handfell of people who try to act all cool by saying "just bike brothers, and yes i do smoke too much pot"

  • Wow, everybody stop bitching and just ride bikes.

These people that were 'the first to do it' were you really though? and even if you invented the wheel that doesn't mean you can talk shit about everybody else.

    Just ride your bikes.

    Please.

  • bikes schmikes, lets see that all done on a horse! haaaaaa-- just f'n around, bike on!

  • @OhsoScary "lets see that all done on a horse! "

It's called rodeo trick riding. Steeplechasing started out as an "alleycat" before it was formalized. Dressage is the horsey equivalent of artistic cycling, which is the formalized version of trick riding. The fact that there is already a formalized version of fixie trick riding in itself shows it's nothing new.

Kids playing around with their transport toys has been going on for, literally, ages.

  • nice

  • man... All you people arguing and complaining and bickering. Just simply shut up, get your fixed gear bike without all the messes of multiple gears. and just BIKE. in the wind, you guys cant argue, cause you won't be able to hear each other. so just BIKE and just shut up, Just bike.

  • is this a song>?

  • Comment removed

  • bmx, mtn, road, trials, fixed. it's all biking. why are there so many negative assholes on youtube.

  • i always use to think that this was hard and looked good but i had a go of my mates fixie the other day and really its all so easy to do. like im no pro at it but give me a day or two and i could do anything u do ..... but i dont wana. fixies look gay. get a proper bike . i know this is gona get fuck loads of - props but really skids are for kids and basicly thats all ppl do on fixies

  • @JUMPAROUND1515 what the fuck is a 'proper' bike?

  • @hallmedic a bike that u can ride for than 20 mins without ur legs giving way, a bike that has brakes, a bike that u dont look like a spa on and so what if there are so many of us "negative assholes" on youtube atleast we dont go to a puplic place and think we are the shit coz we can skid. any and every 5 year old can skid

  • @JUMPAROUND1515 i rode my fixed gear today for about 2 hours. real riding. not just skids. if you started you would man up pretty fast. just because they are doing tricks in this video doesnt mean they dont actually ride as well. i doubt that 5 year olds are doing wheelie bar spins. would probably make a good video of all the 5 year olds you know doing that. that asshole part wasnt meant to be rhetorical. i guess if you want to be an asshole, it's your right.

  • @JUMPAROUND1515 Try and bomb a massive hill on a fixie without brakes, then finger your Mom's asshole and suck your Father's cock.

  • Deep down(or not so deep down) hipsters don't take themselves seriously and no one else should. Has no one heard of irony?

  • @happyforestgump "Has no one heard of irony?"

That's the stuff that hipsters always take so damned seriously, isn't it?

  • 0:20 lol

  • Hypebeast killed the fixed gear

  • What about the people who actually ride fixes? not just do circles :p.

  • Yea and of course people on freewheel bikes never blow through red lights... Last time I checked, car drivers hate ALL cyclists for this. The only difference is that the fixie rider usually knows what he is doing and the freewheel rider doesn't.

  • uh no thats not true. just becuase you ride a free wheel doesn't mean you don't know what you are doing. there are thinks called road bikes you know...

  • Yeah, I forgot a "usually" there. No, not all freewheelers are clueless but most are.

  • Speaking for road cyclists, a lot of us have trained ourselves to track stand while we wait for the green light.

And i think fixies are far inferior to that of a road bike just of the benefits. The only thing i can see out of a fixie is fun. But fixies don't annoy me, fixie riders just need to understand why they are riding a fixie. I do favor the awesome things that fixie riders can pull off.

  • No offense, but I can't help frowning when I see someone trackstanding on a road bike, knowing how much easier it is on a fixie. The benefits for me, besides the fun, is the durability, the minimal maintenance required and the reduced need for using the brakes, saving the rim and the brake shoes. The traction feedback and balance correction abilities has saved me from many crashes on icey roads. I feel that my fixie makes me want to go faster, while my freewheel bike tempts me into coasting.

  • But that's just me. Like I said elsewhere, it's also a matter of taste. I only see the benefits of a road bike in the mountains or if you ride straight ahead for long time. I commute in a big flat city so for me the direct drive and the lack of variable gears was a great relief.

  • Yeah Fixies are really convenient in the city I agree. And road biking in the city is a pain because there isn't much you get out of stop and go riding, which is why road cyclists would go out into mountains or long stretches of roads. But if I were to ride a fixie I would miss the sharp leaning into turns. But fixies are still cool.

  • i sharp lean into turns while mashing.

  • i love how fixie riders claim to be about the essence of bicycles, yet will talk shit to anyone who rides different.

OH NO! i have brakes , gears, and shocks.

i must be a loser for bombing dirt hills and getting air , as oppose to skidding around with leg over handle bar?

its supposed to be about riding! not fashion , cliques, and colors.

  • @Alberto - as there are some shit-talking BMX riders and MTB riders, there are shit-talking Fixed Gear riders

Besides, there are specific tricks BMX Riders, Fixed Gear Riders, and MTB Riders can all do that the others can't

Keos, Big Spins, Fakies - Fixed

    Dirt Jumping, Trails - MTB

It's not just gay kids skidding around and shit, yeah a bunch of kids are in it for the hype, but most enjoy it because they have a passion for simplistic cycling and having a good time.

You do yours, we do ours.

  • It's not "just" about fashion, cliques and colors. It's a subculture going mainstream. Some have jobs as

bike messengers, some show up for alleycats, bike polo, skidding contests etc. Some work in bike shops as mechanics and some ride the velodrome. Some even have DH and bmx

experience. No one I know hate on other types like people hate on fixies.

  • GOOD POINT Alberto, mofos riding around on basketball courts in circles while the road bike riders are hitting 30mph on the flats!!! Give me some gears!!

  • thats a very good point my friend :)

im a road cyclist, but i do enjoy watching fixed gear riders riding in circles and doing trackstands lol XD

  • LOL!!!!

  • i ride a 50 : 17 gearing. i have no problem hitting 30 mph on flat. i dont personally ride around in backwards circles. i enjoy long distance riding. i average about 500 miles weekly. just did huntington beach to san diego with a group of friends. you can have your gears.

  • dont compare riding fixed with other shit. its is own thing now.

  • To this ahole below me who the f**ck are you to criticize talent on two wheels? Or maybe you can't do what they do so you show ignorance.

  • glad what was cool like 30 years ago on normal bikes is cool on fashion forward fixedqueers. skids and wheelies not impressed.

  • nicktamaman------ Yess!!

    much love RESA

  • this was back when riding fixed was awesome. now all you goobers are getting into it. I suggest you don't.

  • Always find it funny when I see the "hip" people (you) telling others not to do what they do because it won't be cool anymore. I was here first. Who the f*** are you. You should be glad that kids are choosing bikes before tuning a japanese car. Oh wow, your sooooo cool, you bought a fixie before everybody did!!! So did I. Good for us. And then what? Let them live, the ones that are posing will get tired of it soon, others will stay. I think it's great, it's a good thing for cycling in general.

  • no because you guys are ruining the sport. I love getting yelled at by random people now because people (you) thought it was cool to go fuck up traffic and do dumb shit. it's not the bike it's the rider. I don't give two shits if you can ride well but if you're blowing through red lights in front of cars you can go fuck yourself.

  • @nicktamaman This dudes got a good head on his shoulders.

  • @nicktamaman Usually those guys you´re talking about are the ones who arrived last... they think themselves special and original due to ignorance more tha anything else...

  • @nicktamaman nice comment !

  • @nicktamaman --- you sir... have said it... i will ride the hell out of my nishiki piece of shit high ratio fuck off until every poser dies of cancer...

  • @nicktamaman dude if it's mainstream.. they won't like it.

  • i dont get this type of riding. It sort of looks like ballet or something? If you see serious guys riding street trials then watch this it looks like regression to me. Does anyone know what i mean?

  • that's what it looks like untill you get into it, and then you understand, riding fixed is like learning to ride all over again, especially if you want to do tricks and go brakeless

  • those "tricks" look like very small fry compared to what technical trials riders get up to. That's why i don't get this...just because you are fixed gear does not mean that suddenly it's a whole other avenue of "trick" - it simply means you can't stop peddaling. Youtube "Danny Macaskill April 2009" and you will see what i mean - you just can't compare the 2 in my opinion.

  • Lmao. You're a fucking dumbass. You basically gave us a reason to bag on you. You've never riden one before, so of course you wouldn't understand.

  • bag on me all you want, "yoyoguy", i rode fixed when i was 7, which was when it was popular, well before your time. As fleetgt already said, this is old shit rehashed for the hipster crowd - it's not progressive in my humble opinion, something that might annoy you, but that's because it's true.

  • It's also a matter of taste. I rode bmx in the 80s and later mtb and racers until I discovered fixed gears. This is so much more fun. I can never go back to freewheel and only have regular brakes and not have the control of a fixie. That would be regression to me.

"it simply means you can't stop peddaling"

This is an oversimplification and indicates that you have no first hand knowledge of the level of control you gain and the tricks you can do that can't be done on a freewheel bike.

  • i understand you are more connected with the flow of the bike etc with fixed gear - it's the "tricks" side that i'm discussing here. I certainly listen to people talking about how fixed gear makes you feel more connected, that to me is totally true. It's the tricks people are doing - fixed gear or not, these are elementary things people are doing, that's why i don't get the big reactions etc. What am i missing here nilo?

  • Trying to do these elementary things yourself perhaps? Ever tried riding more than 2 backwards circles? That is a real challenge for me. Riding in backwards circles is impossible on a bmx or mtb unless they are fixed.

Watch the Ines Bruun v=MiE1Qm7HSd8 for impressive fixie-only tricks at 1:50-2:27. This form of "artistic biking" is older than bmx and you may think it looks like ballet, I still have a valid point: Yes, it IS a whole other avenue of tricks.

  • 0:21 does he hit her?

  • no, look close, he goes to her left, unfortunately :P

  • but it blurs out before he gets around her

  • keo dosent even need two wheels on his bike hahah

  • longest wheelie ever that was totally sick lovin the fixie

  • im goin to college in seattle next year, man this shit looks sick, can't wait

  • i love how they are usin fix gear

  • nice xP I'm from Seattle too.

I've seen guys like you around the Seattle center a few times :D

  • Damn how can you wheelie so slow, great vid!!!

  • apparently: for a hell of a long time lol!

  • That guy totally crashes into that women at 0:20 seconds

  • Keo is sick as hell man this dude can wheelie all damn day.

  • i think keo has an automatic wheelie button on his bike. shits too sick.

  • LOOK AT KEO.

  • I'm not hating here. I rode a bmx bike bout 10 years ago...was heavy into flatland. Its a hard sport.

I just dont understand why its "cool" to ride a fixed gear track/road bike and do these tricks.

And in all honesty...its much harder to do the tricks on these bikes....just as its much harder to do these tricks on these bikes....its much harder to do flip tricks on a long board :p

  • I think the idea behind it is its slightly more technical (not always but sometimes) and once you land it smooth over and over it's fun as hell.

  • thanks for not bein a hater and shit

but yea, i think u gotta try it to understand it

i got a fixie 2 years ago and am still hooked to this day

  • i think people don't understand how fucking hard it is to ride fixie. nice vid :)

  • If bmx bikes could go 20 mph and still do the same stuff, I would ride bmx. But you cant weave in and out of traffic like you can on a road frame. The point is: fixies are fast, AND you can do cool tricks on them.

  • i still down understand why skidding is cool to some people

  • OMG what song is this?

    and by who!?!?!?

  • fucking awesome i think kids need to understand that this shit is really really fucking hard and takes a lot of time to get good at this shit ....and its just something different, ive seen a million bmx vidz and this is just as good

  • i cud do all this shit and more stuff on a bmx this is like bmx flatland training for grannys lol

  • arnt you cool

try riding a fixed wheel then come back and say the same and i will believe you

but how can you judge when you havnt tried fixed is great fun and a step up from riding my geared road bike speed and skill and its an adrenalin rush like no other eh sick of explaining to stubborn people

  • thats the gayest thing ever y dont u just ride bmx

  • well i think you should just FUCK OFF.

and to answer your question, go fucking ride a fixie, twat.

  • because bmx is slow

  • cadence,

    you riders are incredible...but...

why does the video quality suck on your videos?

  • KEO skill is amazing..his part is killing it

  • I fast forwarded thru Keo's part. I'm just...not ready for that kind of skill...I can't take it. I feel so phailzors watching it...Sorry Keo

  • Fixed gear is actually safer in bad weather conditions if you know what you are doing.

Maybe you should actually know what you are talking about before spouting off like an idiot.

  • these dudes are so fuckin gnarly

  • u suck.

  • Hey. Which gear are you guys driving in?

  • skate or die.

  • you people seem to be gay. get a life.

  • ever ride a fixed gear?

  • my favorite part is the 1" bunny hop to fakie on the bank

  • and WHOSE MUSIC? cold.

  • trans am

  • thanks, pal! found it. white rhino. much better in stereo. :)

  • Okay, all I want to do at this point is ride 1 or 0 handed wheelies like the guy on the orange frame; how many years away am I? Serious question. Buying my first fix this week, been riding freewheel for millennia.

  • it took me 5 days to do a no handed track stand, and 2 weeks to do most else. Fixed gear tricks are usually pretty simple if you work at it. What bike did you get?

  • hey, thanks for responding. FIVE DAYS. wow. 2 weeks- and you got a no-handed wheelie??? the olympic committee needs to hear about this. i got a bianchi pista. probably too tall of gears to do stuff like this, do you think? i can almost do a track stand with hands (but it's like -300 degrees out right now, so no practice), and i'm sure that's possible on gears like this. got my skid stop down pretty well. i'm using shimano clipless pedals, though; do cages give "good" freedom/slop? thx.

  • It probably helps that I have been doing trials also for a while. I am running a 44-18 on an iro mark v. What are you running?

  • looks like 48x16. two available skid spots! :) taller gearing than yours, yes. I should look into a bigger rear gear. do you feel like strap pedals help you with your wheelies/etc? what pedals do you use? i've seen the IRO; i salute any maker only making fixed gear bikes... i rode mine for about 4 seconds before i said "oh, this is IT, man."

  • I use platform pedals, because clip pedals scare the shit out of me. Right now I am just using tioga platform pedals. I use them on all of my bikes, including my BMX race bike. My Surly 1x1 uses oddessy pedals though, because the tiogas tear up my leg if I crash. 44-16 is a fine gear for freestyle fixed gear stuff. I personally get going faster with a lower gear though.

  • hey, like your name. check out my discussion with mastercon12 below; you can set the gearing however you like (with wrenches etc.). look for "fixed gear spin" on youtube, and after you pick your jaw back up, re-watch it, and look at his gearing... obvious that some gearings are good for speed, and others good for coordination.

  • You are a fucking douche, you know that? Stop being a smartass, and start being useful, you prick.

  • nice! took it to another level when i was riding hard in my day the hottest shit was the backward circles im on oldskooltrack. JUNE is the name

  • I love it Bikes are for more than just racing.

  • Dude, I breathe through bike frame tubes when snorkeling. I use spokes as chopsticks. I cover up with bikes on cold nights. There was a Frenchman who found bikes quite edible in the 80s. Someday I'll try riding one.

  • Fuckin awsome weeling!

  • 206

  • SEA city mixed with District music...gotta love that newsguy.

  • i thought that was UW.. dope vid.. clean tricks

  • Disregard last comment I was trying to respond to the hippychick45.

  • isn't the redish bike i saw at :12 that one bike you had on sale on craigslist (Seattle)? I'm pretty sure its the same one, but it's hard to tell by just looking at a view between your legs...

  • nice Polish music ;)

  • ride in black on black fixies at night and kill scene kids from cali i live this fuck this vid

  • WTF does this mean?

  • and....?

  • not even half ines brunn.

  • and the weatherman sampled is Bob Ryan, chief meteorologist at Channel 4 News in DC... kinda random.

  • Holla at me sun, I'll show you my gun.

  • My bike rides me.. I just control it yo..

  • fresh fixie thugs we all are.

  • GORGEOUS track bikes make me happy, the hella scene kids riding them, not so much. nice video though, keep 'em coming

  • yo you keep posting the same fucking comment over and over. your really angry. chill out

  • I could care less if I am considered a scene kid. My story is I went to critical mass, I saw track bikes for the first time and I loved them. I love the fluidity, the simplicity and the style. So now I ride fixie and I watch videos like this for ideas and insipration. If cadence should sell me an item or end up giving some cloathing too me free somewhere down the line, more power to Him I like his designs anyway and I hope cadence blows up in a big way.

  • nice skids, sweet balence ---> that was nuts

  • too big bikes.......

  • thanks
