  • My tiel had been making a clicking noise (seems like what shewas saying ) sounding like bones popping, but i am pretty sure with mine he was mimicking the sound i make when giving him kisses...

  • @wickedbatman if she hasn't clipped wings, see if she gets puffed /exhausted quickly flying around a room and /or if she starts wheezing or clicking more. Chlamydia infection is very common in cockatiels.

  • he looks awesome for a vet. most vets scare me cuz they have a look when u come in to get ur pet checked as if u did something wrong or smething

  • Harrisons High Potency fine while growing plus greens etc as per packet unless you grow your own seeds and herbs and offer a little of a lot of fresh grasses seeds and herbs daily plus shell grit cuttle bone mineral grit and direct unfiltered sunlight.

  • would you prefer pelleted diet over a seed diet? and if a pelleted diet what brand would be best for a 5 month old lutino cockatiel

  • hi my budgie flew into a wall and got a lil nosebleed (healed now) but i got so scared and i tried everything possible to prevent it but nothing worked so i clipped their wings and they get all the freetime they want to run around the house and they love it so is this ok to clip them (dont worry i researched a lot on how to clip their wings) anyway on to my second question i have a lil basket perfect for them to take to the vet but its kinda stuffy so anyway byes =3

  • I wish my vet had this loving, gentle manner. But then with one that lets you stroke it's back and hold it so, much easier to be gentle i guess.

  • @galanie There are different aspects to this: taming, calming, empathy and presence. Taming and building trust is easiest at 6-10 weeks of age. See my book "Caring for Birds with Love and Gratitude". Calming is explained in videos on BudgieHealth and LovebirdHealth. It doesn't work for me if I am uptight about repeated interruptions during the consult or worrying about something, I need to be calm in myself before I can by intent focus with being present calm etc for the bird.

  • Cardboard boxes appropriately padded and with something to grip onto are usually a very safe way of transporting cockatiels to a vet for a clinical examination if their cage is too big to fit in a car. Perhaps you candirect your thoughts to and for all those cockatiels around the world that have their wings clipped and/or are confined to gaol-house cages on all-seed diets as single birds without compatible partners of their own kind and opposite sex and raise awareness about that! Ross

  • hey u shudn't keep him in a box
