I do respite care for Autistic kids, and I really think it's awesome he got the chance to play. Looks like he should have been out there the whole time! I will say that he seems to have a relatively mild case, it's so different from case to case, but still a feat. Good for him, his coach, and his team. That's what sports is all about. I use to mentor a kid that was autistic...this kid is NOT autistic. If he was truely autistic the interview would have been a disaster and the job of fetching water would have been way too much for him. The doctors are too quick to pull the trigger on labeling autisim and ADHD and the parents get dooped into giving their kids pills. He obviously had a speach imediment but that is far from autistic.
