Sonny is very good,but he's right, Derek has taken slide guitar to a whole new level that nobody has approached before. His introduction of different styles of music and how he ties it all in is simply amazing. No other slide player has looked at it like that and taken music from the world and incorporated it into slide guitar. When he steps out of the mainstream blues/rock is where he really shines.

In case anyone hasn't seen what Sonny Landreth contributes on Clapton's 2010 version of "Crossroads" (dvd), ya gotta check him out. I was blown away. Some incredible guitar playing.
