  • Thanks I should get on then, I really ike the last part of 'no swinel calls me' Subscribed!

  • I've seen one for sale, that I may want to buy. But can it play chords? I mean produce 3 or more tones at ones.

  • @neuropatico - Yes it can.

  • This reminded of Bruce Haack music. Cool stuff.

  • That should of been the demo of this keyboard I Love it

  • i have Yamaha PortaSound PSS-290 an its good

  • How is the PSS 290 in general? I'm thinking about buying one, just to have something to fool around on.

  • @GastonJacques - It has a quite large bank of sounds and two sounds can be layered to form a combination. It lacks autenticity regarding the "natural" sounds. But it has a good selection of "sci-fi" sounds that I often use if I want to "space age-ify" some music. The rhythm section is OK for a keyboard that old but the auto-accompaniment sounds slightly cheap. But the music in this video is made entirely on the PSS-290 so it should give some idea on how it sounds.

  • Great!!!

    How did you record it?

  • @myrmur - I connected the Yamaha to my PC through an attenuator box and recorded it with multitrack recording software.

  • I have a Yamaha PSS-280 that is the same as the PSS-290, the only difference is that the 280 is totally black, loads of useable sounds on this keyboard, some of them sound realistic, some of my favourite sounds are celesta, glockenspiel, synth bass, some of the organ sounds

  • awesome demo man.. i really want to get one of these but im not completely sure where would be best to get one..

  • cool, reminds me of the band the loverz

  • better THAN A MOTIF ¡¡¡¡

  • Or at least different. Do remember though, that this melody is made in several layers using a multitrack recorder. The Motif can do on its own.

  • Ajaajaaaj... I got one of these, too! I prefer to put it on top of my organ for a pseudo 3-manual handling ;) It really fits the drawbar percussion noise.

There's one special trick: Put in some almost empty batteries or use a power supply with adjustable voltage. Then turn up the volume at maximum and you have a great overdrive effect!

  • Multitrack recording?

  • @mrdave68 - Yes, I think I used 5 or 6 tracks.

  • wow, that was impressive. :D

Just goes to show what can be done on these things with imagination and skill

  • I like that snare!

  • @MassivDanskInvasion - Ja, den er faktisk ret god. Til gengæld er det så som så med realismen af orkesterstemmerne.

  • Midi?

  • @doktorfuture - No.
