  • absolutely brilliant.

  • Dammit! I can't watch this and not hear the DJO voiceover.

  • You should've included that one clip where Kirk was provoking Spock to feel emotions at the end of one of the episodes, I think it was the hippie one. That'd have made this.

  • Looks exactly the same as the new movie, now show me how I can take the lens flare out so I can see the actors.

  • good job -*-*-*-*-*-

  • 276 non-lensflare fans

  • nice!

  • BRILLIANT! hahahahahaha

  • I guess it looks like the trailer a bit. But the film didnt have much of the lighting effects the trailer had. I have seen the new movie twice and I still had to read the comments to know what this was spoofing.

  • haha love it

  • Is it uber Trekkie-ish of me to have guessed correctly what your edit was going to be before the video started?

  • i thought the new star trek was amazing...when it wasnt trying to blind me. y u want to bind me jj? i pay to c your movie n u try to blind me!

  • hahahahahah

  • My God...who let JJ near the classic Star Trek! Heads will roll people! HEADS WILL ROLL!

  • Absolutely brilliant hahah, I wonder if JJ Abrams has seen this!

  • 1 2 3 4 5 6 happening abdomen shoes ....

  • @shaundis2117 haha, great reference to DJO. Big fan of DJO here and this did in fact remind me of one of their videos

  • JJ is that you?

  • luv this vid..good job! ST2k9 was kewl with me..hot men...All of them, a chance to Spock in a personal relationship was great! I loved the original but in my opinion, it is time for a revamping, with hopefully more fresh ideas!

  • computer...........lens flare off .... beeep booob boop sequence in progress

  • It adds to the quality of the show. It makes the original Star Trek 100 times better!

  • WHat The Fuck is this shit??????????????????

  • Flame on! I mean, Flare on!

  • This is inspired. The shakeycam was hack work, but I actually really liked the lighting effects. The movie for once looked vaguely like it was in outer space instead of on a sound stage.

  • LOL! Brilliant!

  • Hold on... I have to adjust the oscillating LENS FLARE

  • I actually liked the lense flare in the 2009 movie x )

  • Pretty close! Though it needed more people running down corridors. ;) But you got all the ridiculous closeups and bizarre angles... and that other thing. Oh yeah, LENS FLARES. :D

  • LOL this is a work of sheer genius, unlike the 2009 film.

  • I'm glad to know it wasn't just me who thought the lens flare was ridiculous in that film!

  • the thing that bothered me about the reboot more than the lens flare was using a budweiser brewery for engineering!!! MOAR LENS FLARE!

  • LOL

  • rofl this is exactly what the new movie was like, it actually made it really difficult to watch, even the bridge was made into something far too bright and repulsive, sigh

  • Why I feel bloated after watching this?

  • the point of this video is to mock star trek 2009, but it is in fact countering the people saying its not trek by saying its trek with lens flares :D i personally loved the new movie (and all the haters come up with the dumbest reasons sometimes :D "THIS MOVIE SUCKS B?C THE ENTERPRISE"S NECK IS TOO FAR FORWARD ON THE ENGINEERING HULL" (i actually saw that once :D) but it is great if you are not determined to hate it.)

  • There was an assload of len flare wasn't there?

  • This is brilliantly funny.

  • what a load of twodle

The original was far better... you youngsters have no idea 0.o

  • ... I was waiting for the KKKKHHHAAANNN and never got it.

  • lol!

  • This is actually really funny.

  • I love that the floor of engineering is just one giant light bulb :)

  • And this is why you will never make millions of dollars working in the film industry.

  • laser is no match for lens flare

  • Nice one. :)

  • LENSES FLAREORZ...

  • JJ would be proud. Moar lens flare! MOAR!

  • There are five lights

  • lol . awesome, now TOS can be released in the cinema : )

  • How true, JJ better turn those lights off for the next one. Although Super 8 had the same effect running all the way through it. Pain in the arse

  • You got the lens flare, but now you need the shaky camera effect!

  • I've done far worse than kill you, I've flared you. And I wish to go on...flaring you..

  • @em23 oh Wrath of Kahn. I thought you were quoting something else. I haven't seen TWoK in Months.

  • Hahaha this is hilarious! Brilliant!

  • Khaaaaaaan!

  • Not enough lights. *lol* ;-)

  • looked awful, sorry, this is terrible... too much lens flare, didn't look new trek at all

  • oh wow lol

  • I liked this a lot. But the cuts were a bit off. You should have used 48 cuts per second, with more extreme zooms.

  • Do transcribe audio captions, "director for the right time and time the karen we off for the world"

  • less is more....

  • too much.

  • I old star trek I saw flares too, though they were a kind of trousers back then. Perhaps JJ Abrams misunderstood when someone said to him: "We need to bring the flares back!"

  • kahn is such a badass!

  • HAhahahahahahaha! Ahhh...my eyes 0.0

  • BWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH! Best laugh of the day.

  • LOL nice! You DID make make it look like Abrams' Star Trek! HAHAHAHA!

Good pick of the episode also hehehehe

  • lol, you forgot to shake the camera a lot MORE....yeah i see a little shake but no where close to how JJ did it......LOL but this is funny!

  • Lmao !! I have a fever, and the only cure is more lens flate!!

  • cool

  • "Lens Flares I Love you!!"

    - J.J. Abrams

  • omg my eyes hurt ... but awesome lens flares are awesome and this definitely needs MOAR

  • I will go down with this ship!

  • This video was talked about on Opie & Anthony today during the 2nd hour!!

  • Yeah... You pretty much nailed it. Pointless lights, pointless scene changes every second...

  • OMG THE LENS FLARE MAKES THIS FRICKIN' UNBELIEVABLY AWESOME!

  • I can hear 'more cow bells' in my head

  • Ah, lens flares...

  • Blurry, bright lens flares, contextless action, no philosophy. Yeah. That's how I felt about the recent re-boot too!

  • ..LOL awesome...lense flare + camera shake is so artistic! LMAO WTF Abrams!?...

  • its still better than the new star trek movie

  • hate the star trek series. loved jj abrams movie.

  • Needs more lens flare and blue filters.

  • Thumbs up if agree that we should get Q to get the Borg to assimilate abrams. Maybe his brain would blow every nueral pathway in their collective. Two problems solved right there!

  • LOL, very witty!!

  • J.J. Abrams needs to take his Ritalin before directing another movie.

  • R O F L M A O :D

  • I got a fever, and the only prescription, is more lens flare!

  • @drpepper1106 : But what about the warp drives???? And the nacelles??? And what of the poor bairns......

  • The perfect movie excessive lens flare, screen shaking and constantly chaning viewpoints

  • Brilliant! ROTFLMAO.

  • Gene Roddenberry would kick Abrams ass.

  • I think this video is meant to be a joke because Abrams puts too much lens flares. :D

  • I don't like very much the excessive use of this visual effect, cause the image louse details. i like to see as well the ships, the computers, or a good battle scene, and this results very tired for my eyes. Don't bad understand, the lens flare its a very beautiful visual effect, but in the excessive use of any thing is bad.

  • NEEDS MORE LENS FLARE!!! Lol why do they even add that...

  • lens flares

  • Advice: More lens flares and more shaky, confusing shots.

  • I'm drunk at the moment (that's very special for me because usualy I only smoke weed) but I think this little video has defenetly no sense ore am I wrong??

  • Death to JJA

  • 0:17

    Oh, god, wow.

  • I llove how the flares and camera shakes get progressively worse as the clip goes on

  • ROTFLMAO!

  • Good example.

  • wtf

  • I honestly did not notice that about the new star trek until this vid

  • @mikethe4th i noticed the lens flares but i just thought he used them to enhance the lights to make them look futuristic.

  • 0:55 he kept an open hand!

  • looks like crap!

  • ROFL!

  • HAHAHHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHA

  • 222 people don't have inner eyelids.

  • Just a shame it doesn't have the best line in the episode, "My name is Khan. Please sit and entertain me."

  • This is how Super-8 was as well..

  • This video has JJ Abrams lens flare approval.

  • What the hell is with JJ Abrams and lens flares? He had them all over Star Trek and judging by Super 8 all over that movie to.

  • 0:39 LEAVE ME THEN!

  • ROTFLMAO!!! By the gods. This was so funny. You pointed out the horrible lighting of ST XI so well. Great job.

  • Brilliant! The effects are amazing! :)

  • Great !

  • I love it!!! LOL. Great going.

  • Class.

  • Hahaha, its funny cause its true. JJ Abrams, the king of shite cheap tricks to generate excitement

  • when i see comments where ppl look at the number of dislikes and make a "smart" comment, i dislike the video out of spite :) having said that, this video was pretty funny

  • I lulzd

  • Michael Bay's youtube nick is partmor

  • You should make more videos like this. What about The Passion of the Christ with lens flare?

  • The lens flare was actually one of the few things I liked about the new movie.

  • You need sunglasses to watch the new Star Trek flick.

  • Funny, I loved that movie's lens flare. AND I LOVE THIS VIDEOS LENS FLARE

  • posted on MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU

  • I love Uhura's reaction to "the captain is dead"!! Anyway - yup, spot on, just like any Abrams film!

  • No! This nothing like the new movie. You have left in entirely too much dialogue. You need way more explosions & other meaningless noise & pointless nervous movement.

  • lmfaoooooooooooooooooooooo this is hilarious

  • You are so right, the movie was so bright if someone farted you would be able to see it move across the room.

  • Nice, but it's missing an ill-placed 90s hip-hop track and sacriligeous product placement

  • Hmm could use more flare..

  • FROM NOW ON WHO-EVER IS MAKING A CHEESY COMMENT ABOUT HOW MANY DISLIKES THERE ARE THEY SHOULD PUT A BIGGER NUMBER BY AT LEAST 20!!!!

  • I actually think this looks awesome.

  • Nicely done! It reminds me of one of the things I like about the original series - the clarity of the picture! - especially compared to the earlier seasons of TNG which suffered very badly from going down several generations in C-Format. By the way, is it me, or have the more recent moves (and Enterprise) completely subverted Roddenbury's ideological direction for Trek?

  • you need to add more animorphinator...... very clever

  • I TYPED IN LENS FLARE AND THIS CAME UP 4 THE FIRST VIDEO

    HAS A LOT OF VIEWS

    AND NICE FLARE WORK

  • I love all of the arm chair movie directors in the comment section.

  • killed it

  • This looks like snoopdog's sensual seduction video!

  • Needs more lens flare.

  • Looks about right, except of course, the story here is much better.

  • Hehehehe, nice one! :D

  • BA HA HA HA your fucking video cracked me up!

  • So was that the trailer for the next star trek movie? It looks pretty awesome. They even got Ricardo Montalban to star in it, and he's been dead for two years. Wonder how they pulled that off.

  • @imtheonlysane1here i hope you're not serious...

  • great

  • truly hilarious, but truly aggravating that it had to be made in the first place. it's not just in star trek either. i was waiting waiting waiting for it in Let Me In tonight, and sure enough it appeared! JJ has GOT to stop! He's an ill man. he needs help.

  • @MyMerryMelodies The new start trek film is the best of all the original cast films and probably tng films, but I havnt seen them - i guess thats my opinion but whatever, my opinion is right.

  • nice work

  • HA! That's classic

  • how did the media industry come to the point to spending millions of dollars making effects for the very things THAT THEY HAVE SPENT BILLIONS OF DOLLARS ON TRYING TO AVOID.

  • @pyramidheadkitten9 Indeed. Up to the last few years they usually tried to avoid flares, shaking the camera, dust on the lens, and so on throughout the process from the set to the editing room to the lab. Now they use all that junk to make movies "more real" and more nauseating to watch. I hope the fad fades quickly. The shaky cam is the worst in my opinion. I guess they do it to distract you from how poor the writing & acting is by making it so you can't tell what's going on.

  • @CharlesP2009 yeah, "intentionally making your work worse" should not be done this frequently.

  • Nah, something is missing: re-do the sound effects and the fragments of background music, then it's perfect.

  • only looks horribly overblured!

  • lol, gotta love those anamorphic lens flares x)

  • Hahaha, Kevin Smith just talked about this video on Opie and Anthony!!

  • @faithycoins yeah thats how I got here lol

  • REVOLUTIONARY SPECIAL EFFECTS!!!11

  • not bad!

  • Nice flairs ahhahah

  • this video is terrible. there's no where NEAR enough lens flare to compare with the new movie.

  • @EpicPhalure the awnser? the original star trek was shot on film and the newest one was shot on the "panavision genesis" (a new digital cinema camera made by panavision) these "straight horizontal flares" are just possible on a digital camera

  • @EpicPhalure lol

  • @EpicPhalure HAHAH :D

  • Lens flares FTW!

  • hahaha.........yay

  • It might have actually been a great movie without all the fucking shiny.

  • 0:24 lol PWNED!!!

  • I saw 15 flares in the real trailer itself, really what's up with that?!?!

  • @simpsonfan1995 Compensation for lack of real creativity.

  • @shaindaman13,

"Compensation for lack of real creativity."

    Very well said sir.

  • @mfscribs Thank you for noticing. Only a chosen few pick up on my quippy yet to the point comebacks. I bid you long life and prosperity good Sir.
