I live near a railway, and nothing used to beat the sound of a sulzer going into the distance in the early morning when I was in bed, kind of cosy, going on for miles; going who-knows where; kapluka ta plukataa etc !!!
i've always wanted to someday get a job as a train driver, its an annoying thing that soon they will be driven by people in a room sat at a desk, it removes all the excitement >:(

That meaning we will NEVER go to automation. and the reason for the deaths is that in rural areas, from tar sealed roads to gravel there is normally a crossing without barriers. or Australia would be a good start for you!, Western Aus has a fanatical train network!
