  • I love this song! Nancy & Lee's version is my favorite...and you've done at excellent job on the upload. Music is crisp and clear... thank you!

  • I just cant get enough of this fantastic song!! The more I listen, the more I fall in love with this song.

  • :)

  • Gosh, does this bring back memories. The cafe in the Student Union - what a flashback! This song was most selected to be played there over and over, long after it was a hit. Due to the war then and the draft, it wasn't the best of times, but everyone made the most of the time that was at that moment.

  • It was my brother who got this record, and I borrowed a player just after my 10th exam, this way back in 1970, boy can I ever forget the exalted feeling after my first major exam of life and the relief with this wonderful song. And it was Summer in Bangalore, India.

damn good song. love the orchestration.as I remember well Lee did a lot of records in Sweden where he went to later.some folk songs with a lady called Ann Margaret too. beautiful !

  • @mmbreeze Angelika .. well in country music they continued to be successful but where I live they ignore country (I live in prison and walk the line). Didn't know Lee Ann Margaret .. Thanks, I am beautiful and so are you.

  • @11xzxzxz hahahaha....yes...seems like you are ! LOL, nahhh...we both are more than that ! ;)

  • I first heard this sond in 1968 at 4 tears old. It's always been a favorite. Nice to go back and listen again once in a while.

  • @matin889900 i too was a low life scum bag freakin' room service waiter at Trump Plaza in Atlantic City. When I entered her room she asked me to place the food tray on the coffee table, I immediately popped a woodie. She saw the B I G bulge in my pants and told me to get the hell out of there. I thought I was going to hit it, damn it all!

  • this song have got a balls...Nancy rocks!

  • one of my favorite

  • My favorite song in college. She was one hot chick.

  • People often think this is from a Bond film, but it isn't. However, is 3:11 and 3:45 only coincidental similarity? Or was this ever intended for somehow being part of a Bond movie?

  • @Ceb65 Nancy did do a bond movie tune",you only live twice"

  • @Choefoe Dank je wel! :-)

  • @Ceb65 graag gedaan;-)

  • You can get the audio-mp3 of this tune at grabyourmp3s doht cohm.

  • Frank hired Lee Hazlewood to make Nancy a star in her own right. In so doing he made himself a star. Good work if you can get it!

  • Just lovely.

  • im thinking who the 3 idiots that disliked this song........well, this is my mom's fav8 :)

  • This Song RuleZZzZ!

  • It's nice that diyopatino made this song available. I'd hear parts of it on Coast To Coast AM, and want to hear more of it.

  • I also like the way they sing "Jackson" together.

  • A fabulous song, so aatmospheric and haunting. The definitive treatment of one of their best songs.

    Nancy and Lee

    beautiul,

    toether,

    them

  • I love this tune. I'm lucky if I hear this song on the radio. 1 radio show I'm sure that would play this tune is "The Lost 45s".

  • Lee's voice is so perfect for this song (of course Nancy is also great, but that's just obvious)

  • What great memories this song brings back ... nostalgia .... and dang it ... it also reminds me am getting so old ... such is life!!! Simply put ... "Awesome Tune"

  • reminds me of horseback riding in the Garden of the Gods in the '60s whe I was a kid. Now I make summer wine from my orchard!

  • Bravo !

For me it comes out of a strawberry patch.

Yeah, some is put-up with sugar and frozen for non- alcohol treats later.

I add; this was a personal theme in '67.

  • this is a good quality version of their song and it might be complete at 4:24

  • Hmm, just noticed this version of the song and indeed it is better quality than the older one of 3:31. But not sure I prefer this version. I think the somewhat older sounding version also has some authentic to it.

  • Very GOOG SONG LOVE IT!

  • I FUCKIN LOVE THIS SONG SINS AGES

  • my summer theme song

  • Ahh yes! Great song!

This song, boys and girls, was made back in a time when you needed something that a lot of today's artists just don't have...

    .....and its called t-a-l-e-n-t!

  • @ryanspeed

    So true!

  • @ryanspeed damn right.. i dont know how people like that lady kaka shit..

  • d first time i hear this song is in year 2003at a cheap food stall karaoke wannabe, by a river in Manjung, Perak, Malaysia. Maybe u guys wonder where it is....but brings me all the memories....theres nothing there and makes me wonder how the hell this song manage to get there...LOL..luv it so so so much

  • truly wonderful

  • A Beauty Masterpiece.

  • Hard to believe this was the "B" side of

    Nancy's single,"Sugartown"(nov '66). Lee

had a Masterpiece going with this one,

first of several Nancy & Lee Classics.

Check out the obscure "Sundown, Sundown" which is on YouTube. Enjoy!

  • Haunting and terrific.

  • it's wonderful

  • best song ever!!!!! jeanne saario in rise up.

  • Nancy's sultry voice brings back so many memories. Thank you for posting, superb audio.

  • (NANCY):

Strawberries cherries and an angel´s kiss in spring

My summer wine is really made from all these things

    (LEE):

I walked in town on silver spurs that jingled to

A song that I had only sang to just a few

She saw my silver spurs and said lets pass some time

And I will give to you summer wine

    Ohh-oh-oh summer wine

  • great song

  • Promissed myself I was gonna play one song and than STUDY... haha... never happend... Brilliant song, brilliant soft voice. I would call her voice velvet (excuse my English)

  • fantastic song.

  • Love this song, and especially the real version Hazelwood & Sinatra

  • This is the definitive album version of this song. Itd done in Stereo with full orchestration.

It captures Americana in 1967. Westerns were very popular and the Clint Eastwood Spanish movies were just hitting the market. The idea of a disconnected western figure walking into town resonated in the culture. A deceptive female conning him out of his treasure was both a new and a very old Western storyline.

  • Much like Buffalo Springfield's "For What It's Worth", Jay & The Americans "Come A Little Bit Closer", the Grateful Dead's "Mexicali Blues", or Marty Robbins' "El Paso"......"below the border, you better have your papers in order"

  • una canción estremecedora, buena combinación de voces. good!!!!

  • Pretty song!!!

  • Love it!

  • One of the most melodius songs

  • hello there this indeed is a great re-issued version but the vocals are not as prominent in this version as in the original but wow it is like being at the recording and I was at the same performence and they were both great . rip lee and you really were and always will be the best for all of these songs

  • Does anyone tell me what the angel's kiss in the spring really mean?

  • Best version on u-tube this is, well done diy and thanks.

  • I've got the strawberries and cherries....all I need now is the angel, and I think I'm good to go!

  • How old is this one? I really like it. Amazing!

  • Same! :D

  • 1967

  • Thanks! :)

  • You're welcome. Great songs never die, they just get re-recorded for a 'virgin' audience. If you don't know about the more scenic re-release, check "Ville Valo Natalia Avelon Summer Wine".

  • It was on the chart in '67 and the "B" side of a song she did cslled "Sugartown"...I played this song on AFRTS in Japan. I saw the two of them at a club called The Chameleon in Lancaster, PA many years ago. A quaint club but I was very pleased they would consider playing such a venue. Great night and great song!

  • 1966.

  • omg! i have been looking for this song forever! ty so much!! you're the greatest, what memories it brings back. :)

  • Ville Valo

  • I had met lee hazelwood and nancy in concert and was lucky enough to say hello to them both and they are the sweetest people and they did not let stardom go to thier heads they are genuine .keep the great music coming

  • I love Nancy Sinatra. She sings it more erotric than Natalia Avalon

  • WUNDERSCHÖN .

    Nancy Sinatra was indeed cute.

    I love her.

  • Great song!

  • no one can beat the class and the cool that Nancy & Lee have.,.. I was born in 69 and only stumbled on this song...in 2002...and WOW...this song went straigh to my spine, and soul...Man they dont do more stuff like this...this song and Some Velver Morning are true pearls from the best era ever. thx for posting..and there`s no way someone will beat this !! She took my silver spurs....yeeeeeeha!!

  • i got you beat i only heard this song on 6-12-2008 and i was born in 64

  • I left my wife for a beauty who got me drunk and stole everything I own,.. stuff like this really happens!!

  • Yes it is haunting for some reason. Very. I have heard many English songs, and yet if I had to remember one, name one, cite one, over 40 years it has to be this one, and this version ...

  • When this song came out in 1966 it immediately became my all-time favorite song. Amen to your posting. All true!!

  • beautiful!

  • This is the best version. As far as I have seen through these comments, people relate to their fathers playing this song in their childhood or so. This is also a song that my father liked a lot. Very haunting and nostalgic song.

    Cheers

  • still one of my favorite songs, so sad to hear of lee hazelwoods passing last year sinatra and hazelwood, a perfect duo. thanks for the tunes

  • I heard two re-makes of this and though they were very well done I like this version best! 5/5

  • it´s been at least 35 years since I heard this song for the first time. It still the most haunting song I know. I used to play it over and over on my Dad´s Tandberg. Good Memories...

  • I first heard this about 19 years ago... I'd be around four, I'd I just used to listen to it on my Dad's vinyl record on the loop all the time. I never knew what lee hazelwood looked like, but I fell deeply in love with his voice. Ever since, I'm always asked, why do you like men with really deep voices? I'm still in love with him I think!

  • Lee and Nancy are the ones!!!

  • really the best version... such a awesome song...

    and nancy was so beautiful..

  • He does have a good voice... but I'm sorry I just prefer lee hazlewood's more. And no other woman could substitute nancy!

  • You can see, that at least 5 others see it you way too. :)

  • I guess most us have quite excellent taste then..!

  • Maybe... :)

  • Natalia Avalon has terrible accent, and mrs Sinatra sings much better than she does. Ville Valo is good, but Lee Hazelwood better I guess.

    this is the best version.

  • agree with you

  • true

  • true

  • Amen!

  • true

  • true

  • me too..

  • i agree.

  • the best version !!!
