@SF49UNCTHNYYDETRW Yep, for one and half seasons. For many of us, in our pre-teens, teens and 20's (20's was me) in the 1980's that was the 1st time many of us saw George Clooney.
Nice work. Click on my channel to see my 80's nostalgic collections; "80's TV Show Openings", "80's Saturday Morning Cartoons", "80's WWF Wrestling" and a "John Hughes Tribute"
@Tundraboy05 - Neither. The date above is correct. This was indeed the 1987 - 1988 season opener of 'The Facts Of Life'. I was a DIE HARD fan of the show and also have a good memory as far as when George Clooney started the show. : )
@dcguy30 This was definitley Season 7, They used 2 themes for that season. The first 2 episodes had the Edna's Edibles opening until the new store was built after the fire. It was also Charlotte Rae's last season on the show.
@wwerulestna I liked Blair's hair in the later years, especially the last season for some reason. Also, I didn't like Jo in the ponytail for the first 4 years she was on the show. She was a freshman in college and still had the ponytail.
That was during an episode where Jo was taking an English class in college and they were playing a trivia game about Shakespeare. If you still want the answer two years later Bandit!
b4 Oscar and being a 2 time People magazines "Sexiest Man Alive" George Clooney rocked the mullet and had to deal with these girls and Mrs Garrett lol This was from the 1985 or 86 season of the show... lol
I loved them all. And watching Tootie grow up to a beautiful young lady (out of her skinny phase and braces). And Jo got prettier too and fill out also. They all looked great and it was great to watch them every season and how they changed.
Of all the '80s kid shows that revamped their theme tune going into the mid-to-late '80s (This show, Diff'rent Strokes, Silver Spoons, Who's the Boss?), this show has the better revamped theme tune of the 4 shows I mentioned above. BTW, when this opening first came out, does anyone notice that the theme tune had more of a guitar and (I'm not very good w/ instruments) a brass horn riff as opposed to the guitar/piano riff heard in Seasons 8 and 9?
The reason for the revamped themes, all those show were now in ))))S T E R E O((((
Silver Spoons had to revamps and so did WTB? Both went back to the original singers but WTB revamp was just the singer not the instrumental on the second revamp.
Also regarding FTOL--yes there was a difference, it was only on a couple of episodes, just like this video. Not sure if it was just the way it was being tested or if they did do two versions of FTOL and went back to the other. I do like this one though!
@Latinoxtc Actually, Charlotte Rae was the "star" of the show.
Jo, however, became so wildly popular, that they eventually gave her that coveted "last" spot out of all the girls. Hence the "And Nancy Mckeon as Jo" credit line. But if you look at the early seasons, it simply says "Nancy Mckeon" and that's it.
I disagree. I always thought Season 8 was one of the best seasons of the show. I know a lot of shows go down the "crapper" when major cast changes are made but this one stood on its legs and it had the girls to thank. In season 8 we had the girls in more adult situations that didnt require Mrs. Garrett there to make the shows good. Thus the cast succeded in carrying the show. Now season 9 is a different story, they toyed with the cast a little too much adding a whole lot of useless characters
Gee...I wonder why the upbeat version of the Facts theme sounds so 80"s! Um I know...Because this season was produced in the 80"s! The upbeat version was the best version of this theme song.
Cloris Leachman was in fact Garrett's sister Beverly Ann in the final two seasons. Although she was a fine replacement for the mother figure on the show, I felt they didn't really need her as stories increasingly centered around the girls being independent and all. Then again little Andy (Mac Astin) did need someone to live with..
