  • Jo's mullet

  • not sure how this show lasted so long.if facts of life was done in 2012 it would have a lot of sexual themes im sure.

  • i didnt know george clooney was in the facts of life! lol

  • @SF49UNCTHNYYDETRW Ditto! I just now caught that! WOW!

  • @SF49UNCTHNYYDETRW Yep, for one and half seasons. For many of us, in our pre-teens, teens and 20's (20's was me) in the 1980's that was the 1st time many of us saw George Clooney.

  • I Believe This Was A Video Clip Of "The Facts Of Life" Video Open From October 5, 1985.

  • good old time i love it.

  • GEORGE CLOONEY???!!!!! wtf

  • Ahhhh, memories! I wanna go back to the 80s so badly!

  • Best theme song ever!

  • I almost forgot Clooney played a part on this show. How times do change.

  • @Lex5576 George Clooney is almost as famous as Mindy Cohn

  • Without Mrs. Garrett, the Facts of Life would never be the same again.

  • @Tundraboy05 - Neither. The date above is correct. This was indeed the 1987 - 1988 season opener of 'The Facts Of Life'. I was a DIE HARD fan of the show and also have a good memory as far as when George Clooney started the show. : )

  • @MissSai99 Are you sure it wasn't the 1986-1987 season?

  • @dcguy30 This was definitley Season 7, They used 2 themes for that season. The first 2 episodes had the Edna's Edibles opening until the new store was built after the fire. It was also Charlotte Rae's last season on the show.

  • @MissSai99 ooooh, thanks. sorry for late reply :o

  • 1990? or 1989?

  • i heard this theme and remebered the name of the store they owned:

    Over our heads

  • Comment removed

  • Charlotte Rae didn't change...lol

  • I think this was the only '80s sitcom where none of its stars turned out to be screwups.

  • LMAO, Clooney billed after Mackenzie Astin!

  • Clooney, what a douche...

  • thumbs up if Steffan Dodds sent you here, from 2nd year microeconomics econ 2002 from carleton university :)

  • FFFFFFFFFFF at George Clooney!

  • i can't belive Nancy had a mullet back then!! that's just to funny!!!

  • @nibornna Nancy's hair in the last season was the best with those cute skirts she would wear.

  • in stereo,,thats funny too

  • To see the set of Facts of Life in miniature, google "Facts of life ontheset" and hit the I'm feeling lucky button.

  • What's with 80's hair, ew, Blair and Jo looked so much better in earlier seasons, still gorgeous though,

  • @wwerulestna I liked Blair's hair in the later years, especially the last season for some reason. Also, I didn't like Jo in the ponytail for the first 4 years she was on the show. She was a freshman in college and still had the ponytail.

  • I agree they do need to put this show back on in reruns I wouldn't miss an episode ..

  • @4givennChrist amen!!

  • put this show on in reruns whos with me

  • jo was my fav i miss shows like this

  • LOL ! george clooney is just too random :)

  • This theme song is way much better..

  • love the electric guitar!

  • September 14, 1985 - May 10, 1986.

  • Clooney was only around 25 while on this show but looked 35-40. I think he got better as he got older. Loved him during his ER days.

  • Notice how Andy is never referred to in the reunion special? It was like he never existed.

  • niether was Beverly Ann

  • I have always LOVED Charlotte Rae!! She was not only Ms. Garrett to the 4 girls, but also to America!! Who didn't? :-D

I didn't even recognize her appearance in the movie Zohan until I saw it again on cable... lol

  • I remember the new store, it is pretty cool. Mrs. Garrett wanted to sell it at first, but she changed her mind.

  • i think it was a college quiz competition

  • I don't remember the sign that Jo held up, what was that all about?

  • it was on "E. G. O. C."!

  • @Banditmaster02

That was during an episode where Jo was taking an English class in college and they were playing a trivia game about Shakespeare. If you still want the answer two years later Bandit!

  • George Clooney. Ha!

  • you don't mean batman in batman & robin do you :P

  • b4 Oscar and being a 2 time People magazines "Sexiest Man Alive" George Clooney rocked the mullet and had to deal with these girls and Mrs Garrett lol This was from the 1985 or 86 season of the show... lol

  • I loved them all. And watching Tootie grow up to a beautiful young lady (out of her skinny phase and braces). And Jo got prettier too and fill out also. They all looked great and it was great to watch them every season and how they changed.

  • Joe looked best in season two.

  • Of all the '80s kid shows that revamped their theme tune going into the mid-to-late '80s (This show, Diff'rent Strokes, Silver Spoons, Who's the Boss?), this show has the better revamped theme tune of the 4 shows I mentioned above. BTW, when this opening first came out, does anyone notice that the theme tune had more of a guitar and (I'm not very good w/ instruments) a brass horn riff as opposed to the guitar/piano riff heard in Seasons 8 and 9?

  • The reason for the revamped themes, all those show were now in ))))S T E R E O((((

Silver Spoons had to revamps and so did WTB? Both went back to the original singers but WTB revamp was just the singer not the instrumental on the second revamp.

  • *two revamps

  • Also regarding FTOL--yes there was a difference, it was only on a couple of episodes, just like this video. Not sure if it was just the way it was being tested or if they did do two versions of FTOL and went back to the other. I do like this one though!

  • Clooney's is almost IDENTICAL to Jo's, weeeiiirrd

  • The mullet was popular with lesbians back in the day. This was quite a progressive show.

  • none of them were lesbians!!!

  • now, now. calm down! it was a joke :P

  • oh, ok! :)

  • You can see how the girls bloated up over the years. The only reason why I remember this season is because George Clooney was in it.

  • Love Jo's mullet.

  • i dont understand nancy was first than george and mackenzie and thats is so stupid for my

  • They always saved Jo for last because she was the star of the show.

  • that's true i understand now

  • @Latinoxtc : I always thought Mrs. Garrett was the best.

  • @Latinoxtc Actually, Charlotte Rae was the "star" of the show.

Jo, however, became so wildly popular, that they eventually gave her that coveted "last" spot out of all the girls. Hence the "And Nancy Mckeon as Jo" credit line. But if you look at the early seasons, it simply says "Nancy Mckeon" and that's it.

  • @Latinoxtc Well, at least after that awful first season without her.

  • after Mrs. Garrett left and her sister took over her role, the show went straight down the crapper.

  • who is garretts sister

  • beverley ann stickle played by cloris leachman

  • I disagree. I always thought Season 8 was one of the best seasons of the show. I know a lot of shows go down the "crapper" when major cast changes are made but this one stood on its legs and it had the girls to thank. In season 8 we had the girls in more adult situations that didnt require Mrs. Garrett there to make the shows good. Thus the cast succeded in carrying the show. Now season 9 is a different story, they toyed with the cast a little too much adding a whole lot of useless characters

  • Mrs Garrett is hot lol...

  • no they weren't sisters

  • Blair was hot, i bet she's a hag as of now

  • OMG! I cannot belive that everyone in Eighty's looked like this. I LOVE this theme song much better.

  • Me TOO! :-D

  • Gee...I wonder why the upbeat version of the Facts theme sounds so 80"s! Um I know...Because this season was produced in the 80"s! The upbeat version was the best version of this theme song.

  • george clooney you've got to be kidding me!

  • Damn. Look at the hair.

  • This is my favorite season of the show--Mackenzie Astin as the most adorable preteen EVER and George Clooney!!

  • Cloris Leachman was in fact Garrett's sister Beverly Ann in the final two seasons. Although she was a fine replacement for the mother figure on the show, I felt they didn't really need her as stories increasingly centered around the girls being independent and all. Then again little Andy (Mac Astin) did need someone to live with..

  • Ew. Jo has a mullet!!!

  • George Cloony was in that show? i never knew that

  • I never liked the revamped theme, it sounds so 80's.

But I do like the Opening Credits of the cast from past to the present.

One of my favorite shows from the 1980's.

  • You have to be kidding! I love this version of the theme song so much better!

  • Hahaha dude, it was 80's! ;)

  • george isn't gay

  • George clooney is gay????

  • This was my favorite show growing up. Check out Jo's season 7 mullet though! And Tootie really grew up!

  • George Clooney was so cute in this show. :D
