  • 100万ドルの素晴らしい歌声ですね!

  • A voice from god?

  • A soulful rendition.

  • Perfeito ...

  • truly amazing...

  • Sensational performance. She not like some artists you see today who add unnecessary riffs her voice is just so natural and soft her interpretation was exquisite!

  • Great interprétation very sensitive and so subtile. Thanks i didn't know this version.

  • Too deep for words...

  • The most exquisite voice I've ever heard, from a very beautiful lady.

  • Vocal ability and range from heaven. She really owns this song. I don't think there'll be any soul that can master this song like 'Sassy'.

  • 7 people missed the like button.

  • beautiful

  • This is the best rendition of this song! Hands down!

  • YES YES YES!!!!

  • Lindo...

  • beautyfull...just listen

  • Beautiul lady with an even more beautiful voice!

  • ever and ever amen xxx

  • OH. MY.

    What a legend. Daaaaaang.

  • beautiful

  • Now to make a typical man's comment...she was hot back in the day. D-d--d-d-d damn!

  • Perfect pitch and she can play a mean piano. Sassy, you were the best.

  • I wish there was a love button

  • great version of a great song. The first that I have heard to challenge Ms. Garland!

  • 3:20-3:45 just take me to heaven everytime i hear it! OMG

  • “She had the single best vocal instrument of any singer working in the popular field.” - Mel Torme

  • "Wow, I'm in love!"

  • “I guess I’m too sensitive. But I’m so afraid of being hurt. I’ve been hurt so much.” - Sarah Vaughan

  • It's so sad to know she is gone and that beautiful voice has been silenced from making more great recordings, but I am glad to know I can enjoy her vocals and see her perform here.

  • Singing and looking like an angel...it gets no better than this.

  • American Idol.

  • magic...

  • Thank you for posting! Beautiful!

  • Lovely! She was truly a wonderful singer.

  • Beautiful!! =)

  • Anyone bust a tear?

  • @rawzone1 *raises hand*

  • Oh my. I never knew how fantastically beautiful she was. An angel. One of the most beautiful women ever.

  • Gorgeous.

  • Sarah Vaughan...dulce versión de Somewhere over the Rainbow

  • Sorry Wizard of Oz purists but Sassy knocked this over the rainbow and we all get to partake of this luscious pot of gold vocal from one of the most masterful voices ever recorded.

  • Beautiful. Finally, a version for straight people. :)

  • Cuando Sassy grabó esto tenía 34 años y yo 10. Hoy, 53 años más tarde, sigo perdidamente enamorado de ella. ¡Que maravilla!

  • WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!

  • ... it's her's.

  • She got it!

  • @sweetnoots, check out Eva Cassidy on youtube

  • Absolutely exquisite.

  • How wonderful! Indescribable! Very beautiful!

  • Breathless.

Only two renditions other than the original Judy Garland version have moved me to dreaming, this and the other was Liza Minelli.

Sarah infused new layers of meaning so pure and unexpected! I could really see those 'blue birds' rising above their sadness and taking flight :)

    <3

  • this cannot be disliked no way

  • i love u ms sarah vaughan

  • No electronic gimmics; just drums, piano, bass fiddle and that strong beautiful voice.

  • @asswuppin,@tutudee This is really a matter of personal opinion. Sarah Vaughn's version is smooth and easy, whereas Eva belts it out with great emotion. Totally different styles, both beautiful, no comparisons needed for true art and great artistic expressions but just delight and joy!

  • @francophile59 WHO IS EVA?

  • @sweetnoots ...some say she is the stig..

  • Pretty much a completely perfect vocal from beginning to end. Masterfully sublime but utterly artistic & technical....full of tremendous control, emotion, and musicality.

Sarah's a Legend. #TisAll. Thanks so much for posting!!

  • So...do the four of you dislike music? or...

  • "Classy Sassy" Love her!!!

  • ****

  • Her full and lilting voice caresses a part of the brain that gives greater dimension to the term lyrical.

  • She really did have a way with a song, didn't she?

  • @avesraggiana Yes indeed!

  • Truly perfection! Beautiful lady.

  • God she is just so gorgeous in every way possible

  • There is no one better than Sarah Vaughn. Period.

  • I'm not a bible-beater or anything but if ever a child of God was meant to sing, that child was Sarah Vaughan

  • The very eternity she is.

  • Very Ella-esque at the beginning, but still wonderful :)

  • @sarahdrayton09 No just Sarah, they didn;t copy each others style back then! Dinah Washington, Sarah, Lena, the List goes on, they were just them. Something we see today from only the best Artists, Rachelle Ferrell, Patty, Barbra, etc,.

  • For my ears, this is the definitive rendition of this song. Flawless!

  • I like how she's always got this constant, slight shimmying thing going on here.

  • Боже, какое удовольствие слушать ее...

    нега.....

но почему-то любимую песню в ее исполнении не могу найти.... Slow hot wind..(

  • Effortless. . .Amazing. . .Timeless

  • She is GODDESS!!!Voices like this comes out every 200 years....

  • I was 21 when she recorded this. I had forgotten how good she was. THANK YOU FOR POSTING A WONDERFUL MEMORY. (but, got to admit, Eva Cassidy was even better, and Israel Kamakawiwoole ( Bruddah Iz)

  • @tutudee Respect your opinion re: Eva, who truly was a spectacular artist. Incredible power, but also great finesse when needed. Also, immense color in her voice. Plus she could sing a blues (among other things) like nobody's business - something Sass could never do, as she was the first to admit. Everyone factors in a different set of criteria when it comes to 'best.' For me, a great admirer of Eva and her all-too-short career, I still put SV in the top spot.

  • @tutudee Eva was good, but she doesn't hold a candle to Sarah Vaughn. Her story is tragic but no one is doing her legacy any favors by comparing her to one of the greatest singers of all time.

  • Wow!I love this woman!

  • Even when so young--fabulous voice and vocal stylings!!!!

  • @N2itv2 Actually she's 34 here, but still 100% solid gold Genius !! Nobody ever 'swung' this song like Sassy

  • My favourite era Sarah Vaughan's career is the 50's, but she was brilliant to the end. Flawless voice even in her last days.

  • she is so beautiful!

  • That Teddy Wilson on the Ivory?

  • @thewho4 think it's Ronnell

  • @thewho4 that's what i was wondering! he certainly brought her out of her shell there, didn't he? tears in my eyes, really beautiful.

  • Her singing is effortless and unmatched! It's nearly impossible to find someone with the same talent. Incomparable! The ending part is just very sweet and beautiful and can cut through one's heart.

  • its funny because people us to think that we're related just because we have the same last name crazy right

  • thank you for posting this - I don't find any words, it's too beautiful and divine.

    Music goes far behind words.

  • Holy Smokes! Even when she sticks close to the melody she's deadly. Good Lord... : )

  • THIS is how over the rainbow should be sung.

  • What a wonderful voice. What a loss for this generation... My fav singer for the last 30 years.

  • thenoblequran (Ctrl+Enter)

  • Wow, thanks for this what a terrific period for her singing.

  • She nails this one to the cross.

Her phrasing and musical imagination are unmatched.

    So beautiful.

  • She just sings this SO naturally,Its so graceful and beautiful.

  • as a beginning jazz singer I hope to have a 1/4 of this woman's lovely expression

  • @coldfirevideo Best of luck to you! :)

  • God truly blessed this sista w/an AMAZING and DISTINCTIVE voice. Beautiful version of a timeless tune.

  • Incomparable. Always was. Ella is a distant second.

  • @pragmaticprof back it up betty....

  • Maguinifico!!!!!!!!

  • humbles you doesnt it.......x

  • Nobody and touch her!

  • WOW!!!

  • my mother named me after this woman except she spells it , sarah-von

  • What a beautiful chocolate moche lady...That is definately my flavor

  • this is the best rendition ive ever heard of this song!!!!!

  • I didnt know she was so damn HAWT!

  • Someone's been reading too much Gunther Schuller.

  • Effortless !!

  • Her voice never changed even in the 70's. In this video she looks so young.

  • That's what I call beautiful.

  • I love how all the old school singers had bad ass vibrato...you just dont hear that anymore....good stuff...

  • Eat your heart out, Judy Garland...

  • Just love her; a long past era of stunning, matchless female jazz vocalists-Holiday, Fitzgerald, Horne, McCrae, Wilson, many others...

  • Dave Garraway was right! He Called her The Divine Sarah, and now this generation

knows why. Enjoy. I Love You Sarah. M.S.A.

  • I love this woman! She's an angel!

  • Briliant voice!

  • Fantastica voz. Quienes serian los tarados de oido que pusieron que no les gustaba.

  • She is perfect!

  • Total sophistication. .. Beautiful!

  • She is brilliant and excellent

  • What a voice!

  • ahhh,, so sweet!,,, wish the piano player was listening closer though.. his feel is too on top of the beat

  • @trombonist59 ...The piano player is playing on top so that Sarah can lag slightly behind the beat with a "heroin drag" in her voice and use that sluring legato...It makes the song ooze sexiness. The rhythmn section plays the song perfectly. If everyone was lagging behind the beat, the song would sound too labored.

  • that's not even fair - she's not human - too good to be human

  • wow

  • Just beautiful. Sarah Vaughan is one of my favorites. Smoothest voice ever!

  • my favorite singer of all time. I still cry why I think about her dying. This is lovely

  • Sarah was my alltime favorite jazz singer. What an absolute joy to hear her again at the top of her form. I miss her terribly but this facility allows me and others who maybe did not see her live the chance to hear this superb voice. I saw here three times in Glasgow, Scotland.Unforgetable

  • My all time favorite still even with all the marvelous new female vocalists.

I wish her life had been a bit less chaotic but I think she rather wanted it that way.

  • Thank you god for sharing with us this angel who brought joy to so many, even now.

  • wow..the very reason why young people must also look back in time, their great contributions mark today.................

  • Best singer ever.

  • Wowwww.....

  • Her talent is postively through the roof. Up in the heavens with Eva Cassidy.

  • Mesmerizing...trance like.......

  • With all of the technology that we have now, why were the singers sooooooo much better back in the day. The human race has not change...is it just a matter of raw talent vs little talent because of all of the technology.

  • @WowKowboy Talent = potential. We aren't less talented today. We are lazier.

  • and brautiful

  • Memories of hearing her "live" many times- along with so many other singers. Ah, dem days are gone forever- never never to return.

  • goose skin

  • She just makes you want to cry. Perfect!

  • she sings in such a beautiful trance. you can tell she's just totally in the experience.

  • AAAAAAAAAAAMAZING!!! PERFECTION!

  • owww nooo the tears are almost coming.... never heard off her this is the first time...

totally in love with her voice

  • Lovely hearing a bit of Sarah Vaughan at Penryn Station this Morning.

  • Thanks for the music. Sarah is beyond superlatives. I'm in my fourth hour of just sitting here listening to this angel. She dazzled the whole world.

  • She's so great. Theres nothing worng on her.

  • 3:43 that inflection kills me

  • @xitabu That was her style - singing a standard we knew she would make it her own by changing the bridge or ending a little differently than the standard. Great tone for a great song.

  • Is sumwhere over the rainbow her song ???

  • Wonderful - and she played piano in the Billy Eckstine ork, too.

  • My Dad's favorite Female Jazz vocalist. As kids on some evenings but always Saturday nights he'd play Sarah Vaughan's records. wow great memories.. RIP George Mills

  • Superb! A truly gifted voice from heaven, itself.

  • Perfect!

  • One of God's perfect voices.

  • Damn. Everything she does works.

Fine sound quality as well. Thanks for uploading it.

  • this is the most splendid rendition of a song ive ever heard!! what a gifted and blessed person!!! i wish i could have cooked for her!!

  • Man I am chocked up.Never heard a better version of the song and everyone did it.Tissue please, snifff...

  • simply marvellous and seemingly effortless ... what a voice!

  • This is the most beautiful thing I've ever heard.

  • My favorite female vocalist.

  • @jaeou812 my favorite jazz vocalist

  • This is endless ! I could listen to her voice forever. Such clarity and tone. What a classy lady. Thank you Sarah for your aabsolutely flawless sound of music.

  • The phrase "Divine" aptly fits this out of this world Arrtist, namely the Divine Sarah Vaughan.. A very select emanation of the greatest beauty and artistry which is rarely seen or heard in today's era. And I Love her!

  • Wow, leavinf aside all the amazing talent and beautiful voice, she's also GORGEOUS.

  • Not only does she sound beautiful, but she looks so beautiful also. Thanks jazz, for sharing this snapshot in time with us from a timeless performer, and especially thank you Ms Vaughan for a lifetime of musical genius.
