Thanks for posting this! I remember seeing this live on tv. Big fan of this show, and all the other Reeves and Mortimer shows. Big night out was the most experimental though, in my opinion. Actually, any fans out there might enjoy a similarly experimental website called icrappoetry (.com), which amongst other stuff, has clips of uk comedy.
This was the worst TV series of all time-and the best! Love the fact 90% of people hate it. Wish there had been a third series though. Only they could say a line as banal as 'did you look out the window?' and make me laugh.
Uncle Pete on this was far funnier than the other one on The Smell of..
Only two series of this and one of Catterick-yet endless Shooting Stars. No justice Vic and Bob.
When this was first aired, the spectacle of Vic Reeves swing-singing 'I'm A Believer' with Bob, to his right, dressed as Abe Lincoln carrying a stuffed wolf totally baffled me... However, over time I have come to realise that Bob is actually Isambard Kingdom Brunel and it's an Alsatian, not a wolf. So it all makes perfect sense now!!!
The music is called "All Sports March" and is available on the "Greatest Sporting Anthems" from Tesco's. Be careful of the strong smell of marmite though.
I always wanted a golden graham's gold record. I was only 3 or 4.
Had a couple of these taped that I remember watching throughout my childhood. I used to find it annoying until I grew a humour. I can actually remember what was funny on Smell of though. These are new to me. Time to catch up a bit. Good day to you.
Hellooooo, I'm the new Vic Reeves fangirl on YouTube and want to say thanks for today's uploads & that I'll be checking this space daily until I either get a DVD player again or my obsession runs out, lol!
Well, I'm currently uploading the whole lot of Big Night Out at the minute so feel free to keep checking! :D
My mission is to eventually get everything I've got of Vic & Bob's stuff onto youtube...which if I succeed would probably overload youtube & make it explode, but it'd be worth it to remind people how amazing they both are! ;)
Reeves is from Leeds and has a LEEDS accent.

This TV show looked like something that was swept up from the back of a KFC in Droitwich- but It was fucking fantastic in it's uniqueness.
I was utter brilliance of a magnitude of the sun going super flippin nova, guvnor!

Not especially funny, but totally different to anything else at the time, and full of creative energy.
