  • The rest of the world knew not to intervene because hitler had advanced aircraft weaponry. He was already starting to cloak his craft. Meaning they were undetected.Plus they knew of the bombs. He recruited top scientist and engineers from around the globe.Which if they knew all of his motives would have never worked for hitler I think.this is of no relations to the Manhattan Project. This is just what they are telling you what the manhattan project was all about. atomic shit is maybe a percentage.

  • that scientist is the most powerful person this world has ever known by now. still alive!

  • man, hitler didnt make no fukn technological advancements,...hitler was a dumbass in those areas, himmler was 100 times smarter. and neither one of them knew shit about technology. The doctors and scientists that he recruited from around the world did all the work. One scientist saved all of our ass's and he was the super genious behind all of it. The same scientist that pulled all the strings on the russian and american space race. Dont ever give them fuckin clowns that kind of credit.

  • @863LAMAR Well, of course. When we say "Hitler was working on a rocket" we clearly mean "Hitler's scientists", not Hitler himself. No credit being given away for free here.

  • I admit i'm from america but I think that the us army cheeted on ending the war like that

  • good presentation...i'm trying to work out if that's a baltimore/virginia accent... :s

  • @sidewalkturtle113 Ha - not a bad guess. I actually grew up in Charleston, SC. But Charleston was settled by a lot of the same peoples that settled the north, including the French and Scottish and some Irish and Germans, so the accent is a bit eclectic.

  • I love Feynman!

I read that story is his book "Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman!"

  • @8644371 Yes, Feynman was amazing, and the book you mention is a good one. Also well worth reading is James Gleik's "Genius", which is a well done biography of Feynman. All of Gleik's books, for that matter, are well done.

  • i would say that apaire to be the good guy at that time, but what about the efects that are developed for ever, contamination of the world,???

  • @amlmaw I think you mean "appear", but yes you have a point. There is a small level of contamination globally as a result of not just the weapons, but also nuclear testing and nuclear accidents, and it is harmful, and some of it lasts a very long time. Certainly something to consider.

  • These two bombs saved over 1.5 million lives; the number of lives that would have been lost trying to end the war by other means.

  • I love Feynman! He is amazing!

  • Your videos are amazing, Derek!

  • american scientists were not the ones who originated the atomic bomb technology. The German scientists developed the atomic bomb and tested the effects over the Atlantic Ocean in January of 1945. The devastation convinced Hitler that the weapon was far to inhumane to ever use on people so it was shelved. When America fell upon Germany they uncovered the atomic facility and offered full immunity to the German scientists who built them the atomic bombs which were used at Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

  • Your point seems to be that the American government is evil and that Hitler was humane. The American government is certainly wrong about a lot of things, but compared to Hitler I'm pretty sure that the US was the good guy.

  • ain't it a head-twister to realize that we live in he most evil nation the world has ever witnessed. Starting from the native indian genocide thru the african slave trade thru hyper-capitalism.

  • Evil? Perhaps in many ways. The most evil nation in history? That is no doubt an exaggeration. As for capitalism, I'm not aware of much capitalism left in this once happy land.

  • communism and capitalism are just flip sides of the same jewish-owned coin which Hitler fully realized. Hitler liked "industrial capitalism" but opposed "interest capitalism" so that threatened the jews who had funded the British, USSR and USA empires. So all of the jews conspired to destroy national sociaism.

"Now Germany is against the power of evil incarnated in the Anglo-Saxon/Soviet coalition managed by the Jews." - Luis Blanco telegram to Francisco Franco after USA teamed with the USSR

  • @derekowens why do you speak of evil ??

there are no evil nations, there are only correct and incorrect acts !

(And I highly doubt that a man, willing to fight against the usa, would prefer shooting himself in the head

than launching his powerful, war-ending secret weapon)

  • @ManyStrongPoints Do you hate America?

  • @ManyStrongPoints ... so the atomic bomb was too inhumane but zyklon B was still ok for hitler ??

and where did you get those informations on the test over the atlantic ocean ?

  • @derekowens i would say that apaire to be the good guy at that time, but what about the efects that are developed for ever, contamination of the world,???

  • i think the whole thing began from the famous Einstein equation E=mc^2....

But can something be done if the equation is used as c = sq root of (E/m) ??? Can it be used for making possible the time travel concept??

That is, if we are able to estimate the amount of Energy required for a given amount of mass, then will it be able for us to calculate the speed by which we need to travel for getting to the future or something like that???

  • hi great video! are you a teacher?i got one question : why do you need uranium 235 and can't do anything with the uranium 238?why does it have to be enriched? thanks!!

  • Yes, I teach various math classes, and also Physical Science and Physics.

About the Uranium: the nuclei are bombarded with neutrons. U238 is more stable, so when a neutron hits it, it is less likely to react. Also, if it does, the neutrons released are too slow to cause further fission, so a chain reaction is not sustained like it is in U235.

Enriching means increasing the ratio of U235 to U238, so there is more fissile matter.

I'm out of my field on this, though, so can't say much more.

  • hi! thanks for the answer ! Wish i had a teacher like you in high school !! Again, great vids!!
