  • NIce video, now we know about the cable route, looks kinda hairy with all of those people doing it at the same time, looking like ants. Thanks, naddeo3. Good mixture of stills and video.

  • How long does it take to reach the top?

  • @FunnyFunTimes With the cables probally half an hour or so, havent done it, but the hike up to the cables is quite long. The Entire hike is 16 miles.

  • what a circus

  • haha unless you climb the nose or base jump off the top, you shouldn't post a video of the staircase tourist route going up the "dome" of half dome. My mom could walk up that shit with them cables...

  • Awesome!! You should change the title because people expect to see the climing which no one dares to record. because you can't.. you need 2 hands at all times and nothing can be lose or attached to your bag. Everything must be inside your bag because if you drop even a penny, the gravity fall could hurt the people at the bottom. thank you great video.

  • @ThouGreatOutDoors you could use a gopro or other style POV camera and secure and tie it to your helmet to get some climbing videos. It is possible to do safely.

  • @mintsk8er : I will look into that and use it as an excuse to hike it again :)) thank you

  • Both times I hiked to the top, it took us 12 hours round trip.

  • Funny. I thought it said "climbing" half dome..

  • This song rocks, audioslave dog!

  • I love how someone posts a cool video and people bust his balls about the correct terminology of the word "climbing". Who gives a shit?

  • @jiggerjohnson Climbers maybe? Climbers give a shit. Is that really so far-fetched? Do you think a kid with training wheels and Lance Armstrong are both 'cyclists'? (They are not).

  • hiking

  • to climb Half Dome, you do it on the other side

  • good song!!

  • that looks hellish with all those people, I try to stay away from people.

  • Chuck Norris has the other half of the dome. And what's the song?

  • Doing this Saturday, nice video

  • What is with people being offensive and complaining about everything. chill out man!

It seems you had fun, what else matters.

  • lame ass song. mofo drunk? Who are the fat chicks in the stills?

  • @ricvonzipper Loser, you have no videos

  • @ricvonzipper u into the fat ones?

  • @ricvonzipper u into the fat ones?

  • who cares if he said climb? he said hike in the caption. "actual climbers" can see the difference. "Actual climbers" dont really care what he chooses to title his video. Stop being such a hater. nice vacation video buddy. makes me jealous.

  • @SexyJesusH I agree with you. There arn't any rules for climbing, if someone wants to pull on every bolt on a climb that fine if they have fun. If hicking is the way someone "climbs" a mountain than thats fine.

  • Great video! we added this to our playlist! Come and visit our channel!

  • Hike not climb.. But its still cool you got to the top. If you really want to experience half dome you should really climb it. You can stare off and not have a hundred people ruining the silence.

  • duh! climbing half dome means cables. no need to get all pissy.

  • Nice vid but "climbing" would be Alex Honnold's free solo of the northwest face!

    pretty cool tho

  • @Super2loose well said, finally someone who gets it

  • Awesome video guys! love the bicep shots.. did you make it down before dark? we also posted our hikes up half dome and glacier point (tag: six dead hikers)

  • you guys are such penis wrinkles! its just a climbing video

  • be honest and don't call it climbing, call it ascending the cable rout.. climbing is a whole nother thing bro

  • me and my dad did the full 9 mile walk to half dome, absolutly amazing! especialy the water fall, but nothing compared to when you reach the top of half dome, cant be said for my dad tho, he pussyd owt haha, great video

  • I did the fucking 70-MILE hike from Mammoth and ended up at Half Dome. That mountain is INSANE.

  • Nice line of hickers on the wall ;-) Great song, what's the title?

  • who cares if it's not climbing it still looks like a lot of fun that would suck if someone fell off that and took everyone else with them

  • Seriously? Sorry I'm not up on "climbing" jargon.. Yosemite - 3rd Class Cable Hike on Half Dome would have been a lame title.

  • I don't think you get it , homeboy.

  • @naddeo3 offensive... lol... wow... get over it man... we're in it for the adventure...

  • @naddeo3 Yosemite - Hike on Half Dome would have done just fine. People search for climbing vids, they check yours out because most people understand what climbing is and title appropriately. You're gonna keep getting traffic from people annoyed by your laziness or disregard. Sure they could be more polite, but then again so could you by not wasting their time claiming to have posted a 'climbing' vid in one of the greatest climbing dens in the world.

  • @mnutt12 4th class at he cables if you ask me: using your hands and if you slip....you die...

  • untrue, I mean it's possible definitely. But it's so easy to self arrest. Calling 3rd or 4th class "climbing" is just such a disrespect to actual climbers, thats all I was trying to say.

  • at least one jackass a year dies at the cables....people need to take it serious.

  • Yeah that's true, Yosemite is a dangerous place. There's a great book "Off the wall, Death in Yosemite" it accounts all known deaths in the Valley, it's really good.

  • i dont consider 4th class "climbing' either, but as climbers we must "comfort the lame". it hurts us not..

  • hahahahaha geek fuck off

  • right back at ya, bitch

  • oo yaa that was a good 1

when are u gona go "climbing" so i can cut u cables haha fuckin fag

  • @mnutt12 what a wanker. Your offense = your choice. Go 'climb' up your ass. How's my terminology? Did I get it right? Hopefully I didn't offend you.

  • @mnutt12 your a douche mnutt12....

  • @gomikego65 don't get mad, I was just trying to protect the climbing ethos. People who use improper terminology just show their ignorance as being tourists.

  • @gomikego65 agreed!

  • @mnutt12 Without all that fancy equipment you "climbers" will wet your pants on the hike to the top.

  • @McDaidUSA What?? Who uses climbing gear on a hike? You obviously no nothing about climbing. You can't be that stupid.

  • @mnutt12 Plenty of "Climbers" use their "climbing equipment", on the cables to the top of half dome when the cables are down (after mid-October), whereas the hikers just pick up the cable and go hand over hand to the top and hang on tight. I've been up half dome many times and am speaking from experience. Anyway, I wish you have the opportunity to do this hike, even a climber can enjoy it i bet.

  • @McDaidUSA well if that's true they sure sound like a bunch of gumby's. By the the way, I have done that hike, in my flip flops. It's no major accomplishment, I did it on one of my "rest days", but cool nevertheless.

  • @mnutt12 There ya go... Its not that i don't admire climbers... I get nervous just watching their videos, I guess you must get desensitized to the fear if you climb a lot, but for an average joe who is a weekend hiker, half dome will give u a thrill for sure.

  • @mnutt12

I find your objection to the word climb very offensive

  • Comment removed

  • @Hiigaranwarrior159 ugh i'm over this. Any climber would consider that bad terminology, that all.

  • @mnutt12 true that

  • @mnutt12

    true that]

  • @mnutt12

I agree 100%. There is a big difference in taking the trail up the back side of something and climbing an exposed face. When someone says 'I climbed half dome' I think of the NW face not the cable hike up the back. But these guys had no intention of misrepresenting anything, it was for them an ultimate experience.

  • @mnutt12 you being a douche is offensive towards actual climbers and humanity as a whole.

  • @sarvelaj haha..yeah ok

  • @mnutt12 you actually just proved my prior comment to be mostly false, with how shitty the YouTube community is, i was expecting some venomous response, I applaud you. lol

  • i did this last week. It was so scary

  • After climbing the dome for the second time a few weeks ago, I've been searching You Tube for images like these. Good job guys!

  • i hated those stairs... lol but it was an amazing hike

  • I will love to climb Half Dome....Question How long it takes from the village ?

  • To the top at a casual pace is 4-5 hours

  • @naddeo3 Um....Naddeo....Let me get this straight.........One CLIMBS for 4-5 hrs? It looks like it's STRAIGHT UP! Looks like an awesome climb though. Can one just walk right up to the cables and start climbing OR do you need a permit? Wow! My hat is off to you anfd "the boys". Good job!.............Oh....is there a back way out ? Or is it BACK DOWN ya go?

  • @code2high the cables section only takes like 20 to 30 mins and the rest of the time is what it takes to get to that point.. and yes, a permit is needed

  • @Tostito12345 you may love it.........reality will set in lol

  • Crowd....

  • Great video and song!!!

  • Nice job!!
