  • Actually IT IS "Sea Lion". It's an old work song captured by Alan Lomax and is on a Smithsonian recording. So no it is not a Nina Simone original.

It bugs me that Feist took song writing credits for this song.

  • N'est pas Nina qui peut...

  • ummm..... i won the album that Nina Simone has this on. I always thought it was "See line woman" which is what it says on the cd......

    : P

  • It is See Line Woman... These people made an error..

  • its called sea LION???

  • No, it's undetermined what the title really is. In the Library of Congress archive, it's Sea Lion.

It is even referred to sometimes as C-Line (as in train) Woman. So we've got 3 titles to this song so far, and that's off the top of my head.

Nina Simone is one of many that's done this song. It's an old skipping song from the '30's and probably older.

  • Lover her soothing, yet exciting voice.

  • i like it a lot

  • I'm not really understanding all of these comments comparing Feist to Britney Spears... If you truly think they sound anything alike, you are an idiot.

  • Check her live version of this on Later...stunning.

  • I love that Neil Young-ish solo she starts up at the end. Ohh I need a Gretsch...And this album.

  • ...

    AWESOMENESS

  • I love Feist's voice! I just love love LOVE it!

Better than many other singers.(Spears, Cyrus, Hedley)

  • and she's her own person, the world has too many Ashely Simpsons..

  • at the very beginnign it kinda sounds like i feel it all a bit

  • the last post makes me sad to come from AZ/USA :(

    oh well :)

  • awesome cover...love it!

  • u r an asshole

  • Ha! Well then you should. Lame ass. I bet you have every Britney Spears' album.

  • If you hate Feist so much, why did you watch the video?

  • Yay! Was six to give Malumbrus a thumb down!

  • maybe you should stick with britney. oh maybe you should join them both

  • Yes, you're right. It's copyrighted as "See Line Woman" by its authors - lyricist George Bass and musician Nina Simone.

Someone has posted on another vid that Feist has explained on XM Radio that, for legal reasons, she couldn't use the name of the Nina Simone song.

  • It's "See Line Woman" by Nina Simone.

  • I have the cd It's Sea Lion Woman

  • "See Line Woman" is Nina's.

    Feist made "Sea Lion Woman."

    Get it?
