The training environment for an OCS candidate and basic training are completely different than the training Soldiers/Marines receive as part of their jobs. This is why the Fort Lee dining facility is more relaxed than a dining facility that is feeding basic training recruits or OCS candidates. ^PB
This is much more relaxed then a video i saw about Marine OCS candidates, with some weird procedures for eating, i've never seen anything like it, and had to ask what was the point of it..do they do that in the army as well? if your not sure of what im talking about, i can refer you to the link
oh yea. I got fired because of a failed drug test. it sucks that america is this way because I would never do hard drugs and what I did in my own time did not effect my work but whatever. on to the next one!
I eat at this DFAC three times a day, every day, have been for 5 weeks now and will for the next 9. AIT Ordnance Soldier. This DFAC is a wonderful building. The problem is, the second floor is usually closed. Most of the staff that work here are inefficient for the number of us that need to be fed. Whether a problem with funding or quality of employees, I don't know, but this DFAC disappoints soldiers daily with slow service and poor food, or lack of food because they run out often.
presents the Past as a Prologue to the future exploring the usefulness of military history while illustrating remarkable individuals, leadership skills and contributions made by the USA Army. The Iron Warriors highlights the fact that today’s soldier is required to function in many sectors and expertise levels in our global environment and thus their unique ability to transfer military skills into the private sector job market.
Army food was good & plentiful in the 1980s, and Army cheffs were special. No special touch in the meals were ever missed, during my watch.
Since then standards in all Armed Services have fallen. This video is a good sign, though a handsome new building is nowhere near as important as the quality of the food ingredients and the mastery of the cheffs involved.
I can wait awhle extra for perfect bread porkchops, mashers with tons of thick gravy!
man the Army gets too much damn money! A chow hall with two floors?! I mean really?! Damn freakin us Marines cant even get decent barracks....this damn chow hall look a whole lot better then the barracks do!
just graduated from there in december 10. great place compared to other places I've been. Second best I've been to would probably be Camp atterbury indiana.
I was there soooooooooooooooo long ago that facility was not there...lol but it looks good. Can you say GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO G-FORCE!!!!. and dont hate. ARMY STRONG
From 2005 to 2011, the size of Fort Lee and the square footage of buildings will double to support Soldiers through sustainment, preparation, resetting and transformation. Larger facilities such as the dining facility are needed to accommodate more Soldiers at Fort Lee due to BRAC changes such as the relocation of the Ordnance Center and Schools from Aberdeen and Redstone Arsenal, Ala., to Fort Lee, Va.
