God created evil the Bible says so. He created the tree of knowledge of good and evil, and called it good. If God created evil He cannot triumph over evil? God created evil from His knowledge an attribute of God, not an innate virtue. God used His knowledge of evil to bring about redemption. Man cannot handle knowledge of evil and good it makes them powerless.God having evil kowledge does not make Him evil. Neither did knowledge of evil make man totally evil they ate good as well

no god does not make us do bad things it is the devil trying to lead us astray from god's path as a war has been waged and this life is a test of our stength will power and faith in god... god allows it to happen because we are free to make our own choices

Mr MacArthur says "if God created evil, then God would be both good AND evil."

Not true. If God created evil, then God has a KNOWLEDGE of good and evil. But God is not evil himself.

We know the bible tells us plainly that God created evil; there should be no dispute.

We also know God has knowledge of good and evil - He created the tree that contained that knowledge.

The key thing is that God uses EVERYTHING (Good and Evil) for a higher good. We don't always see it, but it must be so.

Scripture proves God creates evil:

Isaiah 45:7 I make peace and create evil.

Job 2:10 What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil?

Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?

Not to mention God created the tree of good and EVIL.

God is sovereign over all and uses evil to bring about a higher good. There is a good purpose for everything that happens.

well isaia 45:7 says he creates peace and evil...that word evil can be used as calamity as well so in the context most likekly he's saying i create peace and calamity...

god created the tree of the "Knowlege" of good and evil, not "the tree of good and evil"

just wanted to add to that. But I do agree that God is Sovereign over all! : )

Hi Karen,

Ok I see where you are coming from - I watched this video and part 2.

But there is a problem: John MacArthur starts off on the wrong foot. If God created evil, that does not make him evil. Further on in the video he says God decreed evil exist, but didn't cause it to exist? Huh? He seems to be talking out of both sides of his mouth so he can blame evil on man.

Look at it this way: God is sovereign in all things. That means God decrees both good and evil happen.
