Rfactor and liveforspeed haa the BEST racing sim physics. And ofcourse theres other ones like raceon and netkar etc which are subscription games and are awesome!

holy sh%t, that cockpit view looks fabulous!!! This is really as good as it gets, unless there's something better than 'photorealistic'. Maybe 3D, but GT5 is supporting that too :)

and the graphics are amazing. also on that topic that is the other large thing that sells sims on consols.. physics are often overlooked for graphics. and dont try to think its not true.. because it is.. but i must say what gt is targeting itself at its doing an amazing job, will be the best racing game out.. not the best sim but the best racing game. Forza has nothing on gt but... you must give them credit for doing what they did with such an outdated system.. aka xbox360.

1. Xbox 360 is not an outdated system. If it is, it's doing a fantastic job, seeing how every major reviewing publication rates the graphics as being better on the 360 for games simultaneously released on both systems.

2. GT5 has been placed on an indefinite hold, so we can speculate as to how good it "will be", but it's ultimately inconsequential until Sony stops stringing its customers along.

1 It is doing an amzing job and 2 it is an outdated system.. just 1 eg.. G25 doesnt work with it bec xbox only supports an older analog force feedback system.. just 1 eg. It is a great system but its old and technoligy moves fast

Does it really matter whether or not we can classify technology as old if it can still outperform its supposedly technologically superior rival? I'm not saying that it always does, but does on a fairly regular basis in numerous categories - namely because of ease of programming and more simplistic architecture. Such qualities are invaluable in a console, and were very unfortunately overlooked in the design of the PS3. Hence the success of the "older" Xbox 360.

yes. The xbox i wouldnt say has simple coding. but its using an upgrated system that we have had for years and programmers are used to it.. also bec its been out for so long people known it more and they are able to program games more effitiantly. the ps3 uses a new style for processing and coding.. aka conversions are loosing quality because the multiplatform games arnt designed to run the way the ps3 does.. also its a new consol so know company is used to it yet.. or fully understands it

I agree with you for the most part, but be careful not to oversimplify the incredibly obtuse design that Sony included in the PS3's architecture. Numerous leaders in the software industry have lambasted Sony for what they consider to be a poor design. Designing the system is all about empowering the software developers, and they really did a poor job this time around. Hopefully they'll learn from their mistakes in the future, because competition is good.

they should run a big update much like xbox did a little time ago. fix everything up.. re do some of the poor coding (that would atleast fix some of the problems) and make the menu's faster to use. and clearer/cleaner

After all, when it all boils down, it's about the games. And if programmers can invest far less time and effort to get 90% of what the PS3 can provide for 40% of the time, effort, and money, it's a pretty simple decision on their part.

kinda right.. look at every company in the world.. what do they want.. money! if they have 10 billion (more than they need) they will want more.. and do things to get more. say a game company.. they need to make a good game so more people are drawn to buy it = more money.. thats it.. They try to make it as cheap and simple as possilbe and i mean its true.. look at mw2.. it cost jack shit for them to make that game and they made profit of billions.

its basicly the same as mw1 with new graphics!

also most games that are multiplatform look better on pc then ps3 and xbox

mainly because ps3 has a great processor but developers still dont know how to fully take advantage of this. also ps3 is let down by its lack of ram and poor graphics system

It's been officially "delayed indefinitely". Rumor has it they're waiting until next fiscal year to improve their numbers, given the success of Final Fantasy 13. Dragan how does the game feel? I tried a GT5 demo at Gamestop a week ago and it was crap. Not sure whether it was one of the first ones but it wasn't good at all. I own an xbox 360 and Forza 3 is way better than that demo I tried.

Both these games are designed with 1 main goal. and you cant say it isnt true. because that will make you sound like a complete fucking idiot.. Money. thats the main goal of anygame developer. gt and forza know that more people want a sim that isnt superrealistic so they can still actually play it.. and so they deliver with these games.. because larger group of people to sell = more sales = more money..

hardcore sim racing fans = Tiny tiny part of the racing fanbase.. and they would rather tone it down a bit so that its more playable for less experianced people. And of course these game developers add in all this *realistic stuff* other hardcore sims have had for years.. its just a game targeted at that type of comunity doesnt need it but now people are getting better so they are moving the games up slowly.. Still isnt a real sim.. however for a consol sim gt5 will be the best out there!!
