  • I definitely find writing poetry to be a confession of the purest kind. Where does a person open up their soul more completely and allow the muse to enter, then when writing poetry. What you put on paper is from the state of your psyche at that time. Speaking of state of mind, just read Antonin Artaud's Watchfiends & Rack Screams, no truer confession of genius and insanity exists.

  • wonderful!! thank you!!

  • Well, you're exactly playing the author's game ;) But you know, it's just writing about other writing, getting models and working upon them. The dark thematic is not a confession, or a deep madness or I don't know what... something lots more rational.

  • But well... You absolutly got the right to see it like you want to ;)

  • Wouldn't you say the writing in and of itself is a confession of humanity? Darkness included?

I've also heard from other Maldoror scholars that Lautreamont was rumored to be gay and couldn't reconcile it, hence the conflict in Maldoror and Lautreamont's untimely death.

The book is as it is and I accept it as that, I don't fault anyone for their interpretation because I like being able to have my own.

    Thanks for your comments!

  • Download a copy of THE NIGHT LAND from the Gutenberg Project. It's hard to find in print, and even harder to read...but incredibly haunting...two of your videos remind me of parts of it.
