I have just bought the same amp/cab configuration as you (5150 & framus 2x12). I was just wondering if you knew about which speaker output to use on the 5150 (it has 2 in case you wish to run 2 cabs...) I have set the selector switch to 8ohms as the cab is 8ohms but does it matter if you are running a SINGLE lead out of the head? (and which output socket do you use?) OR do i need a lead with a Y-split to plug into both 5150?

I got a Dean ... and I`m really happy with it. And yeah with a good amp it can be versatile. There are different Dean guitars. A cadillac can sound like a Gibson les paul. A Razorback is a Metal guitar, it isn`t really build to be versatile but I love the metal sound of this guitars. but I don`t just play metal ... so I also got a epiphone les paul custom with gibson burstbuckers ;)

Agreed, u cant kinda put Dean guitars in the same boldpark as gibson, Dean is gr8 hard rock guitars i´ll give them that but they are no way as versatile as Gibson or an Ibanez is . . so if u play rock dean is cool . . for other stuff there´s a shitload of better guitars out there tbh

io suono molto i meallica quindi in canzoni tipo one mi serve un pulito cristallino e un distorto agressivo, dici che riusciro' ad ottenere cio con uno di questi ampli?

ciao :-) beh con 5150 e 6505 (che sia + o non) non riuscirai mai a ottenere suoni puliti cristallini...Nel video io ho abbassato un pò il pot. del volume della chitarra. Queste sono testate che hanno distorti caldissimi, ma puliti non puliti :) io ora sono passato ad una engl savage 120, presto pubblicherò un video sample con una gibson explorer.

No, non monta emg semplicemente perchè i pickup ceramici gibson fanno paura e sono piu caldi degli emg. Comunque suoneranno sicuramente bene ma i puliti poi te li sogni proprio..

That's a really good clean for a 5150. How do you get it to sound like that?? I have a 6505+ and I'm looking for the cleanest sound I can get out of it. Thank you!

Sorry if i'm answering so late. yes that's a really cool clean sound. I changed the preamp tubes with JJECC83s (but in first position i put a ehx), and it sounds really better. I also had a gibson, anyway ;) . Clean's preamp gain is down (1-2), so it doesn't go in distortion. I had the 6505+ too, it has a better clean sound i remember!

You may like the feel or tone of a Gibson, and there's nothing wrong with that, but for a CNC made run-of-the-mill production guitar, they are vastly overpriced. You are paying for the name of all of the rockstars who simply stay with the company because they have the most money to offer them.

I agree. Gibson guitars are so over priced. im kind of looking into the epiphone les paul custom, but they are over priced too. Im going to try to find a used one, or find a different guitar that is similar to the les paul.

I'm a huge ESP fan, but if I had the money I'd certainly get a Les Paul Custom anyday. If you think it's simply a matter of taste, you've either got virgin ears or are tone-deaf. A LP Custom is sex for the ears.

Lp custom , sounds good for sure . Am i tone deaf , or i prefer japanese guitars ? A lot of less known japanese brands meets or exceeds Gibson's quality standards , for a fraction of the price . But you guys need to show the big brand name , so you pay the big price for a Gibson , and its ok too , cause i know i will slap 5k's on a guitar at least once in my life , when ill have that 5k and know exactly what i want . For me it's not a Gibson . US guitars

All guitar companies use CNC's. It's the most effecient and consistant way of doing it and it doesn't effect anything.

The Gibson Les Paul Custom is far from a run-of-the-mill production guitar. There is a ton of hands on work done on the Gibson Customs and even on the LP Standards and Classics. Just way more so on the Customs.

You are also paying for the best woods available and the best craftsmanship. PRS, Fender, ESP, ect... are all expensive when you get into Customs.

I've got the 2x12 5150 Combo and as you can see here the clean channel on these amps isn't that great. The crunch and high gain on these amps is great. I use a Gibson SG, Gibson Flying V, ESP LTD EX400 and a Burny Les Paul and all of them rock through this amp. The bottom line is, if you want crunch, get this. If you want clean, get a Marshall.
