I can't stand you insulting Lou Reed.

His work with Velvet Underground back in the 1960's had a great influence on a lot of bands, including Metallica. His solo albums are pretty cool as well, atleast the ones i've heard

I disagree about Lou being compared to Jim Morrison. Velvet Underground was unlike anything else. Have listened to "Heroin"? That song gives me the chills. I know it was done over 40 years ago, but so what?

Growing up in the 80's I tried so hard to get into Reed but I just couldn't, I like two songs Sweet Jane and walk on wild side. Again just my opinion

I dont have time watch the video at the moment but my opinion on the albums is that they both suck in their own way lol. Lulu is just utter shit and no one with reasonable sense could of expected it to be good. "th1rt3en" I had some hopes for to sound really thrashy and alive and bring it to the next level that endgame set but it was a very boring rock album. Very similar to youthanasia which is just fucking boring as shit. No soul or aggression in the music.

James listens to metal, and it's mostly him that writes their material, so yeah. And if you know James at all, he's still one of the most down to Earth guys you could find in music, I don't think the money has gone to his head much at all.

You can't deny many people are simply jumping the Metallica-hate bandwagon just for the sake of it though because it is now the 'cool' thing to do. Rallying behind Megadeth then becomes the easy option, as Mustaine is and always will be frustrated because he didn't get to share in the success of Metallica. So on the whole? Metallica wins.

Lou Reed sucks and so did LuLu, this was the one time I thought WTF Metallica? Even their albums in the 90s and early 2000s were somewhat good but LuLu should not have happened. Megadeth's album kicked ass though!

What Metallica should have done was appear on the album without using the name "Metallica", like all other guests on solo artist records. Slash made a solo record and used other artists, he didn't call the album Slash/Ozzy osbourne. Metallica stamped their name on this. And if you tune out to Lou Reed there is metal music in the back ground called Metallica

Actually it is a concept album. It's based on 2 controversial plays from the early 1900s of the same name. Also, Metallica said that it's basically Lou's lyrics & melodies with Metallica pretty much acting as his backing band.

In a business when two names are put together it means 50%- 50% If Metallica was the backing band then it would just be a Lou Reed Album.
