  • thank you :D for making this tutorial:)

  • I have a question. A while back I made myself a cane, but couldn't use it all at once. So, I stored it in a little box I had. But what happened was that the clay began to become all sticky and gooey and as a result, I couldn't use it anymore. What do you suggest I should do so I can use it another time?

  • i did the same thing as you with my blade. I put tape on the top so i wouldnt cut myself when i used it :)

  • I am new to clay but what is reduce?

  • @VivaLaJessy1 "Reduce" means to make the polymer clay cane smaller.

  • That looks darling

  • So cute, but I would use colors that mixed together better. (I know the brown/yellow color is probably a butterscotch filling, or something.) I would probably mix pink and yellow, or pink and white!

  • the mysic would be perfect for breaking dawn!

  • nice

  • what type of polymer clay did u use ?

  • hi! nice tutorial... what if you don't have a pasta machine? what tool can you use to flatten them out?..

  • Hey everyone - if you love fashionable jewelry check out the donnaliza collection - it's affordable and looks real! Just search donnaliza on google and youll find it.

  • I have a pasta machine. But I dare not THINK what my grandma would do to me if I used it for this XD

  • haha Yes, you certainly don't want to use your Granny's pasta machine. You need one dedicated completely for non-food use.

  • Yes, that stands to reason. But, you see, our machine has been gathering dust for ages, yet if I used it to work anything but pasta, I just might get hit with the rolling pin, (@_@)

  • Good tutorial. I've always wondered how to make jelly rolls!

  • @fendergirl88 its kinda the easiest thing to make xD

  • @fendergirl88 its pretty obvious bro xD lol

  • lol yeah but the cutting of the ends at an angle is something silly me did not think of! XD

  • @fendergirl88 oooh lol =p

  • well, they dont NEED the pasta machine, but it makes the results much better

  • it might be promotional, could be helping promote other products. As a consumer, I more or less agree with you, but someone who has worked retail for 13 yrs, I respect that end as well. lol.

  • how do u know they dont use a pasta machine? lol

  • I think it's more personal preference than anything else.

  • hello, im kind of new with polymer clay and i want to know what can i use for making the clay flat if i dnt have a pasta mashine....

  • a rolling pin would work :)

  • new charms and jewelry at thecharmbakery

    check us out on xanga

  • I need some help here: I saw someone make nice charms and things with the poly canes and they used some sort of metal form with holes in them so when you put the clay in them, you could string thru the metal frame when it was still on. What are they called and where could I find them???? Please?? I have searched thru the many jewelry finding sites and so far nothin.

  • cool,i already knew, but you have inspired me to make some nice jellyroll charms :) thanks :)

  • Always great to hear that we've inspired a fellow artist! Aren't jellyrolls cute little quick canes to make? :)

  • @artjewelrymag i am a big fan of art and i was in a art show before!you inspire me alot than anything!

  • hi!a very good tutorial, but could you show how to make for example... an orange?)) i dont know how to put all of these white stripes to make it look like an orange)))

  • Hi Missmasya,

I dont' think that's the type of tutorial that we would do, just because it's so very specific. I'm sure if you search for something like: "orange slice cane tutorial" or "how to" you should be able to find someone who's teaching that technique. Good luck!!

  • i live in holland and i love your clear videos.

is it possible to show how to use perfect pearl powder or goldfoil on fimo or polymer clay beads?

  • im not the person that made the video but i heard you could putanything on the clay but to be sure wait until the person tells you :)

  • Shyprincess is right - you can add pearl or gold foil to any kind of polymer clay. We haven't made a video about it yet, but thanks for the suggestion Kaatje - we'll add those techniques to our video wish list!

  • go to gardenofimagination here on utube

  • lol i wondered what a jellyroll cane was and now i know. in england we call them jam roly-poly

  • This is a great video. Can you bake the cane and cut it up for decorations, and then rebake it?

    Thanks for this video!

  • Thanks for watching. You'll need to cut the cane into slices before baking. Typically, you'd add the unbaked slices to other unbaked polymer components, or to polymer clay that has been baked. Many clay artists bake a piece multiple times. You just need to take care that you do not burn the clay, which could release unhealthy fumes: shielding the clay with aluminum foil before baking it at the proper temperature is one way to prevent burning.

    Thank you for your question.

  • Thank you for the help ^^

  • Very good video. It was interesting to watch with clear and accurate instructions, and easy to understand. Well done. :) I have learnt something new today

  • Thanks for the positive feedback everyone.

Please let us know if there are other techniques you'd like to see videos made for.
