Dude whatever a Droid 2 is way better and I saw thoughs photos the Droid 2 smoked the G2 in photo quality. The Droid 2 is a little bit slower but does that really matter when the Droid 2 has hardware and software designs that completely shatter the G2?  Droid 2 wins for sure, and if you compare the G2 with the Droid 2 Global it is no contest...

@deadfreak664 I agree with you. Internet on the G2 is advertised that it is faster than the Droid 2's internet, however they are about the same to me where I live. Picture quality is better on my Droid 2 also. Droid 2s are also overclockable without much risk. One thing the G2 does win on is the advertised '4g speed' and to some..it's looks.

@xavierp0nce theres nothing to risk. trust me. if you have a pulse, and a brain, then you wont have any problems rooting it. trust me. I have mines rooted and i have an HTC Sense rom, cuz I was like you. When i saw the Desire Z, i was like "damn. thats a cool interface!" but then when i got the G2, it was stock android. but trust me. rooting it and getting the Sense rom is VERY worth it. i say go for it :)

the 1GHz processor in the droid 2 is the slowest 1GHz processor on the market, and the 2nd gen 800MHz processor in the G2 is more powerful then any other 1GHz processor in the current crop of android phones

He is in a bad spot for tmobiles network. On my POS Moto Cliq running 2.1 Moto Blur Ive gotten above 4mbs. Cliq is old and outdated and doent have HSPA+ and totally neglected with a just recent buggy 2.1 software update that was promised in April. Before a week or two ago it was still running 1.5.

BTW I live in Philly, in the northeast section which is far from down town where many companies focus their networks.

@uniqueCD4ya umm no. youre basing phones on sales, great. look at the nexus one, it did poorly on sales but it set the line for high end android devices. the g2 outperforms the droid2 global and the evo by far (just look at the benchmarks) and its underclocked which saves battery. overclocking it would make it fly (ive seen 1.8 ghz overclocks, a 1 ghz upgrade!) the only phone that has a better cpu is the mt4g, and its only a little bit better. give credit to the g2, its a very high end phone.

How do you compare their customizable interfaces when... G2 = Bone stock Android, the true Android experience. Motoblur = Heavily modified Motorola, resource hungry nonsense. Of course you're going to get more advanced GUI features. That's a dead given. Btw, disappointed in how slow th G2 is? G2 has a 800MHz CPU (Droid2 1000MHz) and CLEARLY loaded and finished the benchmark before the Droid2. And network speed depends on the network,not the device.T-Mobile won by a large margin, network + device

You're not on HSDPA+. On Android 2.2+, when you're on HSDPA, it shows an H, when you're in HSDPA+, it shows H+, the phone will also change to UMTS ocasionally (3G). HDSPA is faster than UMTS, but HSDPA+ is faster than both.

You don't need to turn off flash to make it buttery smooth. You just need to set it to "On Demand" in the options. Then if you need the flash control, just tap on it. And comparing the pinch-to-zoom speeds on a web page with like 20 flash items versus a device that doesn't have flash at all (WP7) is just plain unfair.

Go into the browser settings, set plugins to load "On Demand", and watch how pinch-to-zoom becomes buttery smooth. Seriously, Aaron, I expected you would at least point that out...

Linpack for Android test has 3 HTC devices ahead of Samsung's, HD, N1 and Even the old Desire. SGS and Tab require root and OCL fix before they reach full potential because of their filesystem.
