Haha, like how lots of people say it's professional because it's in 720, I like it, definitely, a ton better than a lot of the other ones on youtube; but I see a huge error at around 16-17 seconds ;-)
yeah, your tracking looks so flawless but i did not know that you struggled the same as i did. did you use inner and outer splines in conjunction with corner pins in mocha to get this result. your clip is as long as mine but man, i just gave up. i thought mocha will do most of the work for you. i guess i have to go back and do the tweaking, like you did. do we need to mark anything on the frames to make mocha track easier, you think? like your movie videos!!!
I made it a lot harder on myself because I recorded at 1/48th shutter, had no tracking points on either of the frames and moved the frames very quickly. While mocha's tracking was really only helpful during the more still moments, the tools really saved me time on the roto.
inner/outer splines and corner pins and distorting the image in Photoshop to get it to match up correctly.
I started a tutorial for this awhile back, I'll try to post it up soon
I used mocha, but still had to do a lot of tweaking and and hand roto. Mocha usually did a bad job of following the frames when they rotated from horizontal to vertical, so I would create separate splines to track those moments. Ultimately, I think mocha helped with 50-60% of the tracking. I tried AE, it failed pretty badly due to the lack of tracking points and the speed I was moving the frames.
what is the best way to track it with mocha? i tried using spline and adjusted tracks but when loading into AE the anchor position was always off and needed to be adjusted. experimenting with mocha never gave me the consistency. is it always consistent with you? can you give me a quick written step-by-step of how you do it in Mocha? it drives me crazy that i do not get to be consistent with this application. Great Job!
this DEFIANTLY!!!! was hellllllllllllllllllla sick. would it be cool if you could make a tutorial on this bad boy? if not, np at all... its just still wow!
Nice job man!
I've been wanting to do this but I can't find any picture frames. Thinking of just using cardboard and cutting it into frames.
