  • Some "Professional", push up's build muscle, in some minor way, and, increase strength of muscles, according to him (Not really)..., the regular push up / press up was an exercise formed to help build muscular endurance

  • These are normal push ups! In the military, they make you where backpacks filled with very heavy equipment.

  • What are you people talking about? This IS how they do push-ups in the Army. Some of these comments are just so stupid... elbows brush your side. It's simple, you put your arms a little wider than shoulder width and go down until your back and your arms make a flat surface or "break the plane", then push yourself back up. It's not some insane push-up variation.

  • Erm, isn't this just a simple press-up?

  • wtf! 138 thousand videos!!

  • @25rangebomb

    dude..thats crazy

  • @candyapplecarnage yeah it is lol

  • This is how military pushups are done...

  • wide push up. not military

  • Comment removed

  • Aren't ur hands so pust to be close

  • This is not a military push up

  • i cuda sworn this was a regular pushup

  • MARINE CORPS!!!

  • I wanna join the seals but 1 in every 4 people die in the year

  • If you wanna get big, join a wrestling team, all sport teams at my high school safely admit wrestling is the toughest most grittiest sport, we went from 18-6 wrestlers over half a season, I'm sure others can agree with me

  • whats the difference between this and a pushup...?

  • Try doing push ups on your finger tips.

  • hey my army training starts over 2 months and how mutch pushups most you do maximum? 50? 100?

  • @1en1is2 well to be accepted to boot camp its around 13, to pass the physical test in boot camp its a minimum of around 43, or at least it was

  • @Gearsfanatic19934 so if you start you already need to do aroudn the 10 and if your done you need to be able to do around 50?

  • @1en1is2 id say thats about right, id recommend you be able to do more then those numbers though, because those are just the minimum, gunnery sargents dont like slackers.

  • @Gearsfanatic19934 well i got anouth time =p if im at 50 then i just train till i get to 60 then i train more to 70 then 80 then 90 then 100 and so go on and on

  • @1en1is2 good luck man just remember do what the guy in the boonie hat tells you to do and be prepared to get yelled at like youve never gotten yelled at before

  • a push up video with the most views.

  • This is me:

    *gets in sloppy position*

    *grunt*

    *mmmmmMMMMMEH.*

*falls half-way through the "Up" part*

  • @NcoleyCP

    Private , that's navy talk!

  • @star11scream Im joining navy :( SECF, also my friend is gonna be a combat engineer in the army.

  • @jetblack357

    Aww, that sucks, bro :p

  • it dosent matter were the hands are close or wide either is effective

  • The elbow neds to be close i think

  • I'm 18 this guy is like 40 and I think he's hot

  • @GetAround97 Doing push ups alone won't make you bigger ... concentrate on eating proper foods. That means no junk food, sodas, candy, etc. Instead of eating 3 large meals a day, eat 6 small meals a day and add snacks in between as you see fit. Work on compound exercises such as push ups, squats, etc. I have been told once you are able to squat 1.5x your body weight you will no longer look skinny. Google meal plans for gaining weight and you will find some useful links.

  • You kind of remind me of my going to be - sifu.

  • @GetAround97 join a wrestling team

  • @WR3STL3 zzzzzzzzzzz bad Advice

  • Damn Sick

  • i dont see the difference from this one and the normal push up workout? am i missing something?

  • 138713 videos O__O

  • im 14 and we have to do more than 20 at cadets

  • He looks good while doing it, doesn't it? Makes it easy, don't it? ... When you're actually in the army, you learn that you're meant to do these every few minutes, without warning, during basic training sessions. You'll be minding your own business, polishing your boots and whatnot, and OUT OF BLEEDING NOWHERE: "GIVE ME TWENTY!"

  • Best way to do military push-ups join the Marine Corps.

  • I just learned why I don't want to join the army.

  • GSP ?! LOL

  • @baltoyy LMAO

  • I like how i look up a Exercise video and a ad about mc donalds comes up.

  • @GhilliexInxThexMist I think you just live in america

  • @DominusPopulum That as well. :(

  • @GhilliexInxThexMist i know right!

  • you make this look so fuckin EASY

  • thats not a military pushup your elbows are suppose to brush your sides

  • @thebanjoman96 that is the best push up as it makes it harder :)

  • I'm sorry but aren't these just ordinary push ups? Or am I technically in the army when i joined a hockey team?

  • @Djdudemiester

More or less, the military simply has a more stringent standard than what you may find elsewhere and so is the popular reference for the exercise.

  • pay atention kids...he's not a soldier but he'll teach you about the military...

  • whats the difference between normal and military push ups?

  • @codann3 Hand placement. Military push ups the hands are just beneath the shoulders. Standard push ups the hands are wider and above the shoulders.

  • I just finished 600 today, with good form. Trying to increase it by 100 for everytime I try so I eventually should be doin like 2000 a day If I remain consistent. Another thing I'm trying to accomplish is 100 consectutive Push-ups - I can only get 35 at the moment with perfect form and 40-45 with Okay form.

  • @TirnanUFC 35 at perfect and 40-45 with okay form? Because that makes sense.....

  • @TubeTheUnknown Of course it does, 35 slow and 45 fast, you can't seriously be as dumb as you're comment suggests.

  • @TirnanUFC Oh hai, i won't say slow and fast in my original post, and expect others to guess.... Fucktard, please just pick a needle and inject.

  • @TubeTheUnknown Thats because most people (who arn't suffering from brain damage) know what good and bad form already is and don't need to be told. Also pick a needle and inject? Really? I mean wtf why do I even bother responding to crack heads like you.

  • @TirnanUFC Hopefully your wrist don't explode after that, good luck with that "CHAMP" hahahahahaha

  • He forgot to breathe

  • i dont feel crap on my chest ive watched this like 25 times its frustrating me i dont know what im doing wrong.

  • @th3toiletguy9111111

    wait until tomorrow

or put your hands wider apart and do them on your fists

  • @travisdoreowns do them on your knees to build up enough strength

  • I always did my push ups like this

  • @travisdoreowns dido lmfao

  • that man has a really huge ass

  • I d been doing 25 reps sets of w / e doing 670 or 690 pushups but my question ponders my head insted of increasing my sets should I insted increase my reps?

I guess 25 is in my head cuz I read once thats the magic number then add a set .... anyone got any helpful tips here.

  • @awsomeman192 thats a hard core football team or ur full of bull shit o.o

  • @rpcurlsurfing Thats not hardcore at all. Its only 300 pushups over the course of a day. even i can do 100 in an hour and im not in very good shape. Just do them in moderation. Sets of 20 or so and you can have them done in no time.

  • @Fearghas88 ? in 02? youtube wanst around in 02

  • Comment removed

  • WTF I thought it was with your hands close together lol seems like I have been doing my 300 push ups a day wrong -,-

  • @awsomeman192 his elbows need to be in with his body

  • @awsomeman192 If you did that, then you must have the strength of a train! The more you hold your hands closer, the greater the effort! (but it may put more strain on your wrists, so unless you have strong wrists, I wouldn't recommend doing them like you)

  • @awsomeman192 hhahahaa bull shit

  • @cpms5151 i have to do atleast 300 a day or i will be kicked off my football team

  • @awsomeman192 they make you do 300 push ups a day

  • @cpms5151 its part of a special training, i dont do all 300 at once though, i do 100 at the start, 100 about half way through and 100 at the end same with 300 sit ups :S

  • i cant do it for some reason my arms shake a lot

  • @saik0pod focus Daniel-san. Remember...true strength, come from heart!

  • @saik0pod they will. u need to go as far as u can down then back up, do it till ur arms bleed :L the best way to build muscle if u never do press ups is just by holding the press up position for as long as humanly possible. u got to work hard tho.

  • we have 21sissies here. helped btw

  • Its been 3 weeks as I've started doing push-ups and I feel a great change in my body but im not sure if I am doing them right ... i do around 40 push-ups per set,4-5 sets a day but I do them very fast and I dont go all the way down..its like im doing a 3/4 of a push-up but im making awsome progress...can someone tell me if this has any negative sides if I do them for a long time ?? everyones saying im not doing them right and its not the right way to good form if someone can reply to this tnx

  • @AstralForeseer its alright as long as your arms are at a 90 degree angle when you push back up

  • @AstralForeseer lesser sets, and reps but better form. all the way down and take 2 seconds going down and 2 coming up.

  • best way to do military push-ups is...join the Army

  • @jmmcnc lol

  • @jmmcnc What about the marines?

  • @jmmcnc are you an officer in the army?

  • join the marines

  • LOL

  • @jmmcnc going in in 2 months

  • @jmmcnc f that. marines. amry is for main force and building camps. mariens do the actual hand to hand combat and get the adrenalin running ;) army isnt bad, but if you want a work out join the marines :)

  • @tja17736 hoorah! im working out so i can become a marine!

  • @chatanwarrior hell of a lot farther along then i am :( keep up the good work soldier :)

  • @tja17736 haha thanks hopefully wont be much longer

  • @jmmcnc haha

  • Take the Press-up Challenge at Konkura.com

  • uhmm i call those regular push ups. i was waiting for something special, what a disappointment

  • He forgot to mention that when you hit the bottom position you hold it there for 2 to 3 seconds and then go back up. that's what helps you build up strenght faster

  • uhm. yo for people that have the "right arm feels stronger than left" its ok becuz actually u use the same amount. do not try to lean on one side more when doing ush-ups. ur arms will start to form differently MUCH FASTER and itl be all weird.

that weakness in ur left arm may never go away but trust me. ur left hand may be stronger actualy.

  • @ozzynirvana666 try doing pyramid push ups. do 2 rest, 4, rest, 6, rest up to 10 then go back down. 8,6,4,2. that definently works. what branch are u getting into? im getting in shape for air force

  • @DynastyLang try doing dive-bombers .

    Those are the real bitch

  • I do 45-50 push ups every day (regular push ups) and when im doing them it feels like my left arm isn't doing as much as my right arm any suggestions

  • @ArchHavick use ur left arm more like when playing sports because naturally ur dominate hand is stronger

  • @ArchHavick I second this.

I'm trying t focus on my left arm but... its all my right arm.

I feel all my left arm is doing is stabalizing my body... while my right does the actual push up.

  • Keep your legs straight out, knees locked and feet together(parallel) and arms extended at a vertical line or with your elbows out.Latter is lower but puts more strain on the shoulders. Then slowly release, down till your horizontal with the ground, then

"push up" until you have air time, clap your hands together then back to your original position.

  • i was watching a video about military push ups and the guy was counting. He counted one for every two push ups he did. if anyone knows if thats really how the military counts it can you tell me? i want to join the army but can only do 15 push ups doing it that way. and the same for sit ups?

  • @flampard0808

the army counts pushups as a 4 count exercise.

let's say you're at starting position...

    down-1

    up-2

    down-3

    up-1 (pushup)

  • @duckieebeatd0wn ok thats what the video showed too, that sucks ha ha. but thanks.

  • @shift613 or maybe turn off the captions -_-

  • @shift613 gay troll is gay

  • is expert village this desperate for views on the most simplest things like push-ups that any person with common sense can do? and second... expert village fails on anything physical...

  • wow, thanks this might help.

  • he makes it look so easy...

  • Is working out only 3 days a week enough to get into shape? (running 5 days a week)

  • @StoopidGinger yes its plenty eat right and workout to meet your needs and you should do fine at 3 days

ps.its recomended you don't weight train more than 4 days a week i personally workout then skip a day then workout then skip etc to let muscles rest...

  • @StoopidGinger HELL YEAH

  • "Hi, I'm less whitty" LOL

  • @TheScamDealer Its Less Willy

  • Actually military push ups start with your hands in the center of your ribs dumbass- this is a response to austinrules122

  • somehow the training in my arms when i do this is minimal..all the stress seems to go to my chest..

  • @HIM666dark6light yea i do the triangle pushup and my chest feels sore right now lol

  • Comment removed

  • @112wicked112 Make a video

  • lol you pronounced ur name wrong dawgg

  • im 15 years old and my record in doing fast push ups is 60..and my record in doing regular slow push ups is 40

  • After 4 years of wrestling I think I would be ready for military

  • 0:01 to skip the ad

  • MA HANDS

  • this isnt miltary pushups... we are doing with locked elbows... dislike

  • only 20? I'm on the weak side and I can just barely do that, at my high school the national guard recruiters come by every once and a while, and if you can do 50 pushups they give you a free t-shirt! This is one of my major goals for next school year.

  • @callofduty8301947 lol they do that at my school too. I did 70 and they gave me a dog tag with my name on it

  • danm im weak and i can only do one lol

  • @jacainrules then start doing more!

  • @jacainrules your not alone.I remember myself jet injured by doing push up.thats pathetic

  • good question, could someone tell me where goes breathing?

  • @nilii You inhale when you lower yourself down and exhale when you're back up to the starting position

  • can someone please tell me the difference between the military push up and the normal push-up?

  • @shenuka20

i think they pretty much the same but with the military push up, u keep ur forearm perpendicular to the ground, and your chest has to barely touches the ground

    ...i think

but if u r conditioning for sports, the diamond push up is the best for core

  • thank you..:D

  • Good video. I want to add in the Army your arms go as low as a 90 degree angle. Your chest to ground distance is irrelevant. It's all about the elbow angle.

  • @mcmurdy1980 BREAK 90!!! lol

    good times.

  • wrong your chest isent supposed to touchthe ground at all.

  • @MrJa1259 tell that to my drill sergeant who made us touch our chests to the ground on every test.

  • Ty man

  • argh how are pushups even possible for weakling chicks. xd

    <-- can't even do one. argahglekrasjdjasldjfaldj;

  • i do 1-2 sets of 30.

  • military push ups do not require you to touch your chest. Your elbows simply have to break 90 degrees.

  • if you touch your chest your doing a REAL PUSHUP

  • yes I agree, but if you're getting PT tested you'll score higher by just breaking 90 and increase your count by a good 30-40 percent.

I do them to the floor by myself though. I think they prefer you not to touch the ground because it reduces he risk of injury and strain on your elbow.

  • @pyxiefrog124 no your not, your over putting too much strain onto your shoulders and allowing the floor to take some of the weight for you, and then on top of that you'll get strained arms trying to lift you back up. Slow movements that leave your chest 2-3 inches off the ground will be better.

  • @pyxiefrog124 If you touch your chest you're an idiot.

  • @effyochicken how? just wondering

  • how many a day do you have to do? how many sets of 20?...

  • There's a "basic" method for every exercise out there. But all the little things are stupid, just find the variation that works and feels the most comfortable for YOU.

  • @SugarLoadedFTW You have a good point, but if you do a military PT test, the little details can pass or fail you. Nothing pisses me off more then hearing the count of " 1....1.....1....1" because I don't bend my arms enough or I go down to far and touch my chest to the ground.

  • @mcmurdy1980 yeah that really pisses me off.................

  • Maybe its me but we call military pushups where you keep your elbows in and a standard pushup you let your elbows go out.

  • @photon101203

I've heard both sides. That's why I hate working out. I hear two sides to every story (workout) on what to do - and not do!

  • @paleheroes just do what feels good for you, the internet has two sides of anything

  • Lol at boobybuilder 'logic" ; "Dont staten out teh armez!11 its bad 4 u!" The worlds top bench pressers, squatters, deadlifters, etc all straighten out their arms, and are fine.. Cross reference injuries from joint straightening (0) to injuries from pec tears, most of which happened to that "personal trainer" guy that told you not to straighten out your arms, and whose bench press has stalled at 200 for 10 years.

See what I mean? (doubt you do)

  • difference = a normal push up has legs wider apart

with military push up = feet close togather
