how would you look after the leather after doing this? also do you know how much i would need to do a full set of leather ? probably more leather than the aston as ive a large 5 door hatchback
@totalguy Hi, to maintain the leather afterwards you should use Leather Protection Cream from Furniture Clinic. If you need to do a large 5 door hatch back, I would recommend using an Extra Large Leather Colourant KIt.
@FurnitureClinic Thankyou for the prompt reply. I have one more question, i have dark grey - black seats im thinking about doing them blue (BL06) is there going to be any problems doing that? original colour being a lot darker
@totalguy Not a problem, it would be fine to change to any colour you want. It doesn't matter if the original colour is darker, so going to Blue BL06 will be fine. Good luck
I have a somewhat beat-up cream leather car interior that I would like to fix up. I realized that recoloring the interior would be a lot cheaper than finding a replacement in the junk yard. So my question is this: Would I be able to stain a cream leather to black or another dark color? If not, why?
You can use this kit to change the colour of leather from cream to any colour you want. If your leather was black, you could also change it to cream!!
@Anthonyprice23 Hi, the prep actually removes the finish from the leather, which is why it looks so clean. You couldn't use it as a general cleaner for this reason. We do a product called Leather Ultra Clean which is an excellent cleaner without causing damage.
@jackieo12345 Hi, we have a product called Leather Stain Remover on our website. You should use this to remove dyr transfer. OUr website is furnitureclinic.co.uk
@karachiwalla Hi, an extra large kit will do a full three piece suite. It is quite heavy in wieght due to the volume of product you're getting and so that is why it is quite expensive to ship to America
It's a blend of solvents, we call it Leather Prep. The advantage of the leather prep is that it stays wet on the surface of the leather longer than solvents like acetone so that you can work with it before it flashes off.
Yes it works very well. The leather prep stage will remove most of the cracking. This is because most leather is painted and so most cracks are in the painted layer. When you prep the leather, you remove most of (sometimes all) of this layer and so, remove the cracks.
If there are any severe cracks, you can use the heavy filler to fill them in, after prepping the leather.
Once applied, this filler will create a nice smooth finish with the leather. It will not crack out.
You know he is gonna do a good job when its done on his aston

Well done tutorial, on-topic and well paced. I used acetone to remove the dye sheen, what product are you using for that?

This also means you will use a lot less product.
