I wish that there could be an anniversary year where gun manufacturers reproduce old WWII rifles from all sides (German, Japanese, Russian, British, American, etc) And sell in all countries with 100 rounds for every weapon respectively, and a commemorative book that speaks about ALL the aspects of the war with an unbiased approach. If this happens, my wish list will be: 1903 springfield w/scope, M1 Garand, Type 99 Arisaka (not last ditch), Mosin Nagant, and Stürmgewehr 44.
1966 Edison Range fired 221 with the M14..(boot camp)..1967 while sationed @ Marine Barracks Seal Beach NWS, Calif we were issued M1's. was sent to El Toro to.requalify ,,fired 231 out of 250 with this weapon,,very very accurate,,in SVN 1968-69 we were issued the M16 which I qualified shooting at charlie...
we need to shoot more in the otherbranches. sucks being classified as "the chair force" its ok though because i got shooting after work most days & on saturday's.
The US Marines are great shots, with a reputation.Should have competition with service rifles, out to 300m with the NZIR 2/Bat.Would make an awesome day of fun.
Ahhh, I love the battle rifle. By the way, that song that's playing, what's the name of it? I have it on my computer but it didn't register when I put it on so right now it's "Unknown track 4"
How hard is it to get Rifle Expert badge?

First rifles shown were M1917 Enfields.

@Txman1996
1903 Springfields my friend. Enfields were only issued to the second wave of the AEF in France. No footage exists of Marines with 1917 rifles.

This video isn't right because in the begining there is a shot of a soldier carrying a M1903 thats not an M1 Garand
125jones 3 years ago
Marines used M1903 rifles until 1943. In 1943 they were replaced by M1 Garands.
TwomblyCZ 3 years ago 2
and they used 1903's even after 1943 as sniper weapons
Warscollar657 2 years ago
Man, back in those days they did not even have ear plugs, and shooting those M1's is pretty loud.
Probably half of 'em were already deaf before seeing combat LOL :)

Just imagine how it was for the revolutionary soldiers. Those muskets made 10 times bigger bangs
LeeroyFan101 3 years ago
that recruit at the end of the clip violated the 2nd saftey rule. "never point your weapon unless you intend to shoot"

Unless he was told to do so, which I suspect he was by the person in charge of the filming.
