  • no foools around

  • This song is for my Daniel Simangunsong in German. *winverdi, Jakarta.

  • didnt even show mick taylor in the video-shame

  • Mick Taylor,,incredible guitar..just did not fit into the group

  • One of my favourites. Thanks

  • And they compare these guys to the Beatles...haha

  • @123jjcross

You're totally right ! To compare these bands is impossible, because of the Stones' superiority !

  • I guess that by the time Mick Taylor left, the Stones were such an established act that it was enough for them to have someone who fitted in on a personal level. Especially for while they were touring. Ron Wood was perfect for that. When they needed a brilliant solo, or something, they could always use a guest musician.

  • LOOOOOOOOOOVE this song but i must admit this version reminds me of that old pervert from Family Guy who likes Chris.

  • @casuallooker37 LMFAO!!!

  • @casuallooker37 NO WAY! I was thinking the same thing!!!

  • man, did they ever improve that one!

  • what a fag at 0:50 of the video

  • @brownrider56 I just watched the official video for this song again, and when they show that blonde haired guy in the window that's EXACTLY what came out of my mouth FAG!!

  • Thanks a lot for the information, Starfuckstar. Had no idea this song was from such days. I can actually hear Taylor´s guitar with the same tone as of "Goats head soup" when i listen to the 1981 track. Cheers, man

  • ronnie sucks.

  • The mick taylor years were good ones for the stones...

  • nice post

  • Mick Taylor did sue the Stones and got a settlement. If you look at p. 352 of the Stones' own book ACCORDING TO THE ROLLING STONES, under the "Tattoo You" credits is included the following entry: "Mick Taylor (Guitar) (legal action!!)." The Stones mention the legal action in their own book. With two exclamation points, besides!

  • @Brekhunov Funny enough Mick Taylor played with The Stones in Kansas, only a few months after Tattoo You was released. Of course Taylor was right to sue the Stones for not giving him credits on the album.

  • uno de mis temas favoritos, que temazo!!! ♥

  • wonderful songggggggg

  • Great guitar playing from Mick Taylor. Keith doesn't play on this AT ALL!!!

  • Gostei muito!

    Adoro esta musica.

    I really enjoyed!

    I love this song.

  • "I´m not waitin´ on a laaay-day, I´m just waitin on a frrriiiieend!"

Bros befoe hoes, muthafu%$as! Bros befoe hoes!

  • HUH???

  • beautiful.

  • This song brings my brother back to me, however briefly. I can smell the bar, with the beer and the cigarette smoke, and my brother's laughter. He said he wanted this song played at his funeral, many times. 14 short-ass years later, I did. He was 43.

  • That is a sad story. Sorry to hear that. It's still a wonderful song all these years later.

  • This is special...oh bayby..wonderful!!!

  • Note that it is not Ron Wood who plays guitar on this song with Keith, but it is Mick Taylor, due to how old the song was when recording on it originally started. Taylor, as a result, demanded a share of royalties from the song's 1981 parent album, Tattoo You.

  • Good! MT deserved that and more for all he'd done from '69-'74.

  • He never goit one red cent, let alone a dime. There was no formal demand, no legal action and nothing forthcoming from the folks who rooked hoim out of what he's owed. That's the London School of Economics talking and Jagger learning so well. Keith, of course, plays Mr. Innocent (so to speak).

  • great song

  • I remember seeing 'waiting on a friend' in the early mtv days... it hooked me then and it captures me now... gorgeous~x(:Dc

  • one of my favourite Rolling Stone songs ever!!

  • Another Track where Mick Taylor should have got a writing Credit.....Outrageous.

  • @demonsbutterfly How do you know what Mick Taylor's input/contribution was on this? I don't hear any guitar solo from him. Maybe a little guitar work that could be his or Keiths around 3:30. Don't get me wrong though. I love what I would guess is Taylor's solo on Midnight Rambler live from the Get yer YaYa's Out album.

  • I didn't know they went to Jamaica in 1972, but I looked it up, and sure enough, they were recording in Kingston in November 1972.

  • I read some bad shit happened to them while they were there.

  • Recording on "Waiting on a Friend" began in late 1972 through early 1973 in Kingston, Jamaica, during the Goats Head Soup sessions

  • wonderful song. all time classic!!

  • a gorgeous seamless tapestry, this is...
