I think you'd need a falconing license. The class is like 600 to 1000 dollars.

@hereHehereHE get the bird familiar with you, called manning. use the rewards system to get them to do what you want. feed them raw meat that they would have available in the wild. depending on species. also a varied diet is important for a healthy bird. as for taking care of them, you need to have some basic husbandry knowledge and tend to any injuries or illness. they are not pets and have will show no affection for the falconer. something that most people think they will get from a raptor.

@kriswitak69 actually bald eagles have been known to show affection to humans. there is one pretty amazing example, actually.... that one that was rescued by a man. She ended up being brought to the vet, and survived. She actually wraps her wings around the guy, pressing her forehead to his when she does it. and she gets depressed when he's not around, and sticks close by him when he is.

@boxerusman you buy them directly from the breeders, but you can't keep them without a good deal of knowledge and you may also need a lisence. buy a book on training and keeping eagles before you do anything

and THIS eagle is found only in America or in exotic pet stores. (much cheaper to catch one) the best choice is getting an egg or a newborn so it thinks youre its parent (less chance of killing you)

Second comment for boxerusman , to get into falconry , you need a qualified permit . Secondly you need to be really good at training birds of prey in order to teach an american eagle to fly back into your hands . If your really interested , buy a red tail hawk ( After the falconry course ) , Female! They are very responsive but its a very hard job .
