The genius who made this video showed Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr as the new revolution right after showing the fall of Republicans... Martin Luther King Jr was a staunch Republican.
Bitch about Obama all you want, but don't forget to take into account the different situation we would be in if McCain and Palin would have won. I think it would be much worse. There needs to be a change in our political system I agree, we actual need Democrats who support Liberal causes. Now they just work to please the right wing knowing the democrats will just vote D regardless. If the Congress supported Obama we would have be working on the public healthcare and energy solutions we need
"Won't Get Fooled Again" could possibly be the worst song you could have used for this video. WGFA is about become disillusioned by revolutionaries who promise change but never actually deliver...Ironically, it's dead right in Obama's case, but somehow I don't think you meant it that way. Unfortunately, both of the major parties today seem to want to destroy what the real revolutionaries won for us in 1776, thus bringing the meaning of the song full circle. Where are the real conservatives?
Yeah I don't think whoever made this realized that Obama = McCain = Bush. The lyrics of The Who song perfectly describe the situation we have now, where "the new boss" sounds a lot like the old one. But no, let's keep pretending there's some real different between the Democratic and Republican wings of our one party system.
750 bill became 1.5 TRILLION... add the interest - 500 billion, so we're up to 2 Trillion, & then the budget, a trillion or so, plus the deficit, plus more interest... Even if you're on welfare, by choice or not, you're SCREWED! Obama didn't win this presidency, the idiot Republicans handed it to him on a plate, and then bent over for another shafting. Stupid thing is we ALL deserve it, cos' we stuck our heads in the sand and allowed the politicians to fuck up the last 20 years or so
The brutal irony of the video is that the final line of this song, "Meet the new boss/same as the old boss..." describes Obama. Look at his cabinet appointment -- all retreads from previous administrations. Where are the troops? Still where W left them. The economy? the same bailouts as W. "Meet the new boss/same as the old boss."
the only reason this country still has hope is because mccain wasnt elected.. we might be able to recover from having bush for 8 years but i dont think we would have made it another 4 years with another bush
Jeeeez, you pay less in tax than most of the rest of the world, get over yourselves! 42% of my money disappears every month, and my country doesn't even have a decent army to spend it on to go invade the wrong country! Middle-incomes can pay more, and EVERYone will be better off without spending nearly a trillion dollars on fruitless military exercises. Support your troops by bringing them home safely, and don't send them out again unless your entire nation depends on it - like the good old days
As I was saying that I work with people of all income brackets and what you say is common among many of them. I have heard over and over that many will cancel their optional luxuries in life such as cable/satellite, memberships, new cars, dining out...and so on.
Obama will cut taxes for most Americans, but remove the tax credits such as the child credit. The credits are where much tax revenue is lost. You may get a tax cut but will be paying more because no credits.
Thank you upsguy. I am not sure what will happen in Iraq if Obama wins, he has changed his plan so many times. First he claimed an immediate withdrawel, like Pelosi did, in which he now claims a "responsible withdrawal" which is under the "no timetable" plan.
I understand completely what you are saying about the economy. I work with people of all income brackets every day and I see and hear what they will do if their taxes go up. I guarantee you everyone will be paying more w/Obama.
gouko787, you are dead on right about the national debt. The Republicans have been the worst. That is why the conservative base has pretty much left them and voted in the Democrats to take over in the last election. Most, if not all, conservatives are fed up with the big spending. However, the point is that Obama is going to spend over a trillion dollars MORE than GWB did. How is that good?
Because it will be money spent to help me and you, and to strenghten our infastructure. Not money spent to promote oil, banks, war, insurance companies, pharmecuetical companies, bomb builders and cronies.
Plus the proposed savings by cutting wasteful spending that you keep forgeting to mention will me more than the proposed spending. This means we will actual spend less but get more.
I do agree with you 100% about the wasteful spending on this war. It is ridiculous to see all the money ending up in places it never should be. The first place to look is in our own politicians pockets. It doesnt matter if its Republican or Democrat, the vast majority have had massive amounts of financial gain from the war. From the Clintons who earned over $4 million to even Feingold who has been very vocal against the war. He earned over $1.5 million from the war.
I have no doubts Obama also has his hands in the pot either, it seems those most vocal against the war are the ones profiting the most.
Spending has been out of control for a long time. It doesnt matter which party you belong to as all the spending increases have had overwhelming support from both parties. In fact Obama has averaged $1 million dollars a day in pork spending.
Obama is NOT the answer. McCain is not the answer either but at least his economic plan does not have $3 trillion more.
Are you kidding me? Reason for the war? MONEY. GWB would have never started this if he could not have himself and others profit from it. Defense contractors, oilmen, "intelligence" contractors, construction contractors, and other so-called consultants and large companies.
The billions in fraud and the trillions it is costing all of us is bankrupting us one by one.
Oh yeah, ok. So all the blame falls on Bush. Not the 2/3rds of Democrats who voted to give Bush full authority to declare war on Iraq. None of the majority of Democrats who are banking millions of dollars from this war. Its all just Bush, no one else. Please.
Yes, the war is bankrupting all of us, however its the vast majority of politicians who are profiting from it. I find it funny how even those, like Obama, who voted against the war, are still ok with all the profits they get.
People need to grow up and educate themselves NOW. Neither Obama or McCain are going to save this country from where its heading. We are heading for another great depression in which neither candidate has effective plans to stop it. Obama's plans are logical, but they are identical to the plans that FDR implemented in his "New Deal". This plan is what sank the US ecomomy from a recession to the great depression. McCains is no better. We need a new candidate that can understand this
How do we go about getting that candidate elected? While I agree we need a 180 degree turn around on our government, I also realize you need to slow down before you can turn around.
gouko787, Obama's economic plan will be a complete failure. Spending from $850 billion-$3 trillion more a year is what will put us into the depression.
Obama's economic plan has the largest spending increase in US history. He will spend more every year than the entire Iraq war has cost us. Yeah, thats placing the foot on the brake all right.
So are in in favour of McCain plan to keep spending money in Iraq?
You forget that these are dollars to be spent helping the lower and middle class restore and/or gain economic security. You also fail to mention he will be restoring the tax level to the upper class that was there under Reagan. That will account for most of his spending right there and combined with the money generated from new jobs and responsible withdrawl from Iraq we are looking at a net gain.
In response to spending money in Iraq, how is Obama going to do anything different? Obama just said a short time ago that it will be 4-6 years to withdraw. 15,000 troops just came home. By Sept of 2009, we will have all our forces out of Baghdad and another 20-40,000 will come home. Then as the Iraqi military steps up we will phase out. This plan is far quicker than Obamas. In fact Obama even was caught asking Iraq to request our troops to not leave until he is president. LOL at Obama.
The real difference will be, we will shift from a war strategy to one of reconstruction.
We will stop dropping bombs, and start rebuilding. Yes, there will still be troops for years to come in Iraq, but they won't be dstroying things so we can rebuild them and destroy them again.
We will start to give them the technology they need to suceed and stop looking to make a profit on THEIR oil.
I have actually enjoyed our back and fourth and have come to look forward to your comments.
gouko787, I am not sure where you are getting your war information from. The fighting in Iraq is at a very minimum. The Iraqi troops have been very successful in taking over most of the military operations. Our military is scheduled to turn over the entire city of Baghdad to Iraqi forces by September 2009. By November 2009, our troop levels will be about half of what they are now. Our troops have done an amazing job since the surge.
We are still fighting in Iraq, correct? Fighting includes the use of weapons. Myabe we don't drop a bomb, we just use depleted uranium rounds of which many end up in a wall and cause us to either leave the radiation for years to come, or, we have to destroy the building due to the radiation. There are still bombs going off to protest our presence.
As for the surge, it has had success, I agree. But one effect has been to dispurse the enemy to more remote hiding locations.
Overall, ther can be NO honor in winning a fight we never should have started. There can be no victory due to starting a war by invading a nation to take their oil. The best solution is to focus our efforts on rebuilding, destroy the 14 military bases we have built and leave with as few deaths as possible on both sides. This war will be a black mark on our country forever.
Whether or not this war was a good thing is something that no one knows and will know for some time. There are still those who believe Hitler should have been left alone and we should never have been involved in WWII. Most historians admit that it can take decades to prove if something was right or wrong. Like the old saying, hindsight is 20/20. There is no one who can say for sure this was good or bad. Was it mishandled? Of course, there were many bungled up decisions.
I think Donald Rumsfeld was a complete arrogant fool. He wouldnt listen to those he should have. He told the commanders on the ground what to do instead of listening to what they advised.
The old argument that we invaded to take there oil is laughable. We have yet to take any oil. Obama already said that they are showing major profits from their oil and we are getting none of it. So much for that theory. I do agree with Obama though that Iraq should now start paying us back.
I agree that the argument that we invaded Iraq for oil is simplistic. The reasons for doing well far more complicated but wrongly made into a priority.
To say this war will be a black mark on us forever is an exaggeration. Iraq is already predicted to be the United States largest consumer in the coming 10 years. It has been predicted that they will be purchasing items from American in excess of $700 billion dollars a year. The young generation of Iraqis has been influenced by American soldiers with IPODS, video games, cell phones, and all the gadgets we commonly use. They are already placing orders for these things from American companies.
If we do not successfully complete this war with Iraqi troops in control and able to maintain control, it will just mean chaos in the near future. We cannot leave a military vacuum there and allow someone like Iran to move in.
stockguy97 - no offense, but you need to think before you type.
FDR, one of the truly greatest of American Presidents, dug the US out of the Depression which began years before his Presidency and became much worse under Hoover - hence the phrase "Hooverville."
Under Republicans, the US government grows, regulations end, drugs become cheap, education suffers, buildings explode and wars start, not to mention more abortions and higher crime.
No, World War II dug us out of the depression. FDR's first new deal in 1933 sunk the economy into further unemployment. When FDR initiated the second new deal, the economy partially stabilized but it wasnt until 1939, (6 years after being in office) that the WWII economy jumped the US out of the Depression.
ROFL, you can call me delusional, I couldnt care less. Obamas $3 trillion in new spending and higher taxes for business will result the same as Carters years. Losers.
Wow. You're right. I guess "programs" like the FDIC, SEC and Social Security didn't do anything to help end the Depression and we'd have been better off without them. Maybe more deregulation is needed now, hmmm???
The funny thing about history is you can actually look back and see where the TRUE Big Gov't and big spenders really are. You can say that Obama will do this or that, but the truth is we don't know yet do we? Another funny thing is, WE'RE GOING TO FIND OUT. hehe W = Debt, duh!
Actually the programs like FDIC, Social Security were only a small amount of programs that were initiated. There were over 2 dozen programs started by FDR in which scandal and embezzlement was king. Those programs you mentioned are the only ones to survive.
You are right, we do not know what Obama will or will not do. W does = big debt and Obama = even bigger debt. We can only hope Obama cannot do half of what he wants to.
You are the prime example of why America circles the bowl. Your negativity creates gridlock. That gridlock prevents ANYTHING from getting done by ANYONE.
The minds that created this mess, (eg McCain, Bush(s), Greenspan, et al,) will not get us out of it. Isn't time for a new approach?
The best of FDR: "... FEAR ITSELF."
You would do VERY well to think that great speach over, as you seem consumed by your fears and they are clouding your judgment, (or lack thereof.)
happystead, my judgement is based solely on comments made over and over by Obama himself. From cutting our military by half, raising spending by $3 trillion, (which includes $845 billion to fight poverty in other countries), 100% government funded abortions for anyone at any time, raising taxes on small business', providing national health care at a cost of $4.00 a gallon in gas taxes. These are all plans that will ruin our country even more. Its basic economics.

My apologizes UTubers:
There's a bigot in S. Africa who has cloned my s/n (I'm saltandsavor, he's saltandsavEr & also fetish2006).
saltandsaver uses my "Favorites" to seek & spam UTube videos. He repeats my posts, but inserts racial slurs & profanity; or pretends to be a militant, racist black person to incite people to argue, or stir up fear & anger.
I support Obama/Biden, but also support positive change for the healing of America.
He's a tr0ll & hate-monger. Pls Beware, & ignore.

Hey, it's cool. You are right. The Who gets the credit for writing the song. I took a few of the photos myself and designed a few of the graphic elements, but it is not a "new" video.
Thanks for at least checking it out.
