  • I'm kind of new to this stuff, do you think you can explain what exactly P4 Sniper Reticles are?

  • oh ok, Thanks alot.......i didnt really mean that it wouldnt be that accurate if it was calibrated for a certain magnigication i was mainly thinking that if u had to take a random magnification into the equation that it might not be too accurate because ive noticed with different scopes that even on the same mag there's a difference. Since the reticle is calibrated with a set magnification whould you think it woul be resonable to range within like 60 yards at 500 yards? bc that would b fine TY!

  • I suppose if i would take my MOA measurement at my lowest possible power of 3x i would take the measurement and divide it by 3 (or whatever power i'm on) before entering it into the equation. This just doesnt seem like it would be very accurate considering its very hard to tell if your really exactly at 3x or 7x etc.

  • @dirtyboy3364 Ranging reticles are typically calibrated to be used at the highest magnification and that's most likely the case with yours. If you are unsure, try measuring it against a known target size at a known distance and do some reverse calculations. And you're right. It isn't very accurate compared with the result you'd get with something like a laser rangefinder.

  • I appreciate your video, thanks!!! Im still confused about 1 thing: i have a 3x-9x (cheapo) with the P4 and im wondering how the magnification would come into the equation? Are those MOA values assuming the power is 1x? If im on 9x the MOA measurement is going to be much larger thus throwing off the results.

  • we can do the counting with the horizontal lines to ? i tought that was only with the vertical ones

  • @kegannff They are the same distances. so you can go either horizontally or vertically. It all depends on which gives you a better view at the moment or which dimension is available to you. The silhouette target is used as an example because they are a standard 18 inches across. If you are ranging something like deer, you may be better off using the vertical measurement.

  • at 4:00 from where the 7 minutes apear ? i only counted 3,

  • @kegannff Looking at the width of the target. We have 5 minutes between tick marks. So, from the vertical crosshair to a little past the first tick to the left makes the 7 minutes. Unfortunately, with the resolution of youtube, we kind of lose the location of that first tick mark within the target but it's there.
